I'll be at my local cigar lounge. They have a surprising number of horseplayer members and the owner puts out a great spread. He also has all three big screen TVs going network/TVG/HRTV...ONLY. There will be no NBA or NHL which is nice.

I'll load up my XPressbet account next week and bet via laptop with the other guys at the lounge.

I will be at Horsemen's Park in Omaha, an excellent simulcasting facility. Used to like to watch the Derby at home but I'm in the middle of a move and home(s) are in disarray.

When there is a Triple Crown possibility in the Belmont, I think it is imperative to watch the race somewhere with a big crowd. The Derby, everybody has somebody different and it's confusing. The Belmont with a Triple Crown possibility, everybody is dialed into the same horse. It's amazing electricity to be with so many people rooting for the same animal.

At home on the couch.

Versus is going to show the entire undercard on TV starting at 11:00 am with switch to NBC later in the day.

They have done a great job with the NHL and I am really interested to see how they handle the full card from Churchill.

They have been running lots of ads during the NHL playoffs and are promising 4 straight days of Derby coverage including the Oaks on Friday.

If you can't watch for some reason, check out the 20 hours of Derby coverage on www.horseracingradio.net (http://www.horseracingradio.net).

There will be local stations as well as Sirius/XM stations and live streaming. The website has all the details.

At home in my new and improved simulcast-center. Just added cable internet in addition to dsl so now I have 3 pc's and two tv's going (plus direct tv), probably too much stimulation but it's a real cool set up.

From the infield at Churchill Downs! ... which means I will most likely have to look at the big screen to see the race.

At home, watching it on my new 55 inch LG lw5600.

I will convert the signal to 3D. It won't be true 3D, but I watched last year's HD recording converted after I got the set, and it is really cool.

I am shocked that people are watching this at tracks? I would never want to be anywhere but right in front of my own TV.

I'd be alright if the track had a decent simo center but generally I agree.

One place I don't want to be is a "Kentucky Derby Party" at a friend's house, unless invites were strictly to horseplayers, haha. My family got invited to one and I had to chuckle at the thought of the reactions I'd get bringing my laptop and asking if the host had HRTV or TVG and more than one TV. "But honey, they're having mint juleps!!"

We spend the day tailgating at River Downs, but always leave early enough to get in front of a big TV for the Derby. My favorite day of the year!

I always host a Derby party (yes, for non-horse racing folks...I don't know any fans like me). This year I'm cooking burgoo and making a mud pie, as well as making my traditional mint julep recipe.

Boy, is that a fact. The amateurs that go twice a year, today and on BC day, turn these places into a freak show. Will skip most of the pre race bs and switch back and forth between the NBA playoffs until post time for the undercard races as well as the Derby. Even without the Derby this is a very quiet time of year for me, it is transition time, and play very little. All the major circuits have recently switched tracks. Santa Anita to Hollywood, Aqueduct-Belmont, Gulfsstream-Calder, Hawthorne-Arlington, Keeneland-Churchill. My style of play does not do well with shippers and track switch runners. Learned the hard and expensive way that the Derby should be enjoyed for the spectacle that it is, but not seriously wagered on. The last decent return derby ticket I cashed was on Go For Gin, and that was a very long time ago. One of my long time track cronies is an eccentric Irishman. He has long had a rather earthy opinion about betting the Derby, "fook the Darby".:D Might just be the way to go. :)

Arlington Park. Opening day Friday, Derby Day Saturday. I used to always look forward to this Friday. But, with the prospect of a long meet of short fields, makes me wonder a little. Regardless, I'm going to enjoy Friday and Saturday, live racing at Arlington, and the Derby, have fun. Worry about the short fields at a later date, life is too short.

At home on my large back porch with multiple TV's that I have setup out there. Family will be together with a large spread of food and plenty of adult beverages. The ladies like wearing their hats, it's a Derby party that we do every year and we have a blast !!!!!!

Derby Day is one of the few days I actually go to the track anymore. I place my Xpressbets before I leave, then go to the track and place my Derby bets and play n watch some of the undercard and some other tracks. I almost always leave before the Derby and go home and watch it on TV and hope I gotta drive back to cash a ticket.
A word of caution. Make sure you make your Xpressbet wagers early. Not saying there will be problems but they have had technical difficulties on Derby Day in the past due to volume.

Taking a bus to NYC from VA on Friday night.

Finding a bar or restaurant and chilling with a couple friends who live there.

I do EZ-Horseplay online so I'll bring my netbook in case I can play bookie for anyone.

Annual Derby party with some racing buddies. Plenty of food and fine Ky bourbons. Wagering by PC and smart phone, jackpots on every race to so everyone has a yelling interest in the races. Men will migrate to a separate area while the races are on, reconnect after the Derby. Probably stop by a second party on our way home from the first one.
