kudos to the connections of Inherit the Gold for bringing their horse back on two weeks rest for the Charlestown Classic. I'm so sick of horses, when they are healthy, being put on the shelf for 5-8 weeks and when they lose their connections always say the same thing...they needed the race. If the horse is healthy let them run.

Agree. In the old days when purses were next to nothing we used to run cheap claimers every 7 - 10 days. We would run them into shape; they would peak for about 3 weeks; tail off; and be turned out for a while to save money.

I remember way back, I think it was in the 60s, that a horse named Joe Top won a Memorial Day Weekend Stake in Ohio; vanned overnight; and won another Stake at Cahokia Downs in Illinois the next day!!

And how often did Carry Back run as a 2 yo?
