Not in 2011. They're staying in Australia for now and then #might# go to Hong Kong/Meydan/Ascot. No mention of the BC. What race would they go for anyway? The Turf Sprint? That's unlikely imo.

It is hard to see Black Caviar running in a Breeders Cup race as the timing is all wrong. Breeders Cup day clashes with the Victorian spring carnival which is the high point of the Australian racing season. Black Caviar being a Victorian based horse I cannot see her missing the spring in Victoria

Mile. They are going to stretch her out.

Gosh, I'd like to see her race Goldikova!

Where did you read that?

Peter Moody indicated that he could stretch her out considering how she settles then pounces. But, it's still unlikely unless a race is set up with More Joyous.

Speaking of her...is she still in training? I haven't heard a word...last time I did, they were going to keep her in training and try for another BC.

Head said in Dubai they are basically shooting for the same schedule with her this year as they did last year. So, starting out in the Prix d'Ispahan and then the Queen Anne at Ascot. I believe they started her out towards the end of May last year also, gm10 might have more info on her.

Not a chance, Goldikova would destroy her.

She was really good on Friday night, though.

They sound desperate to find races for her to stay in Australia instead of going after good money in the HK Sprint, Sprinter S or even the KrisFlyer which aren't that long of a flight from Aussieland.

I have no doubt Black Caviar, if on song, will win wherever she races.
But why would you want to leave Australia, when there is so much money to be made there?
Desperate indeed.

It would be NO CONTEST if both were at best, BC would win every time.

The highest rated horse in the world is currently BC and she has won twice since.

Not that those rankings are necessarily accurate usually, but it's good to see they finally got one right.

She probably goes to about 135 now, daylight above Goldikova.
The first time a sprinter has ever been the highest rated, although I would be confident she will be just as good over 1600m( a mile).

Some background information ...

It's a good blog in general. The posts on sectionals probably won't appear very advanced to American readers but it's still a good read. The man used to be chief editor (I believe) at the Racing Post but gave up his job after his baby son developed health problems.

The guy from thefiguresneverlie blog has an interesting theory but I don't think he has it right. Peter Moody has not been stomping round Australia telling people how much he hates the Brits. In this article from the time this happened Moody describes his clash with Noseda as "a bit of fun and games"

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/superracing/moody-now-happy-to-let-magnus-do-the-talking/story-e6frfg96-1111116641629

Trainer Mark Johnston does have a history with Australian racing. He brought out Double Trigger back in 1995 for the Melbourne Cup and he was very confident about its chances prerace. It started 7-2 fave and got beaten over 50 lengths. All the horses he has brought out to Australia for the Melbourne Cup over the years have failed badly. Last year the horse he brought out missed getting a run in the Melbourne Cup and instead had to run in a G3 consolation race. It failed again

But Peter Moody has no reason to hate UK racing. Moody is simply looking after the Australian racing public for a change instead of the UK racing public. It is a million to one he will ever have a better horse than Black Caviar even if he trains for another 20 years. Moody knows this and he is racing it at all the major Australian racing carnivals so the Australian public can come and see the horse. People in the rest of the world simply have to wait at the back of the queue
