Freehold Raceway announcer Larry Lederman told harnessracing.com Thursday afternoon that tests are scheduled for Friday to determine the status of a brain tumor discovered earlier this week. Lederman had taken his daughter Leslie’s car to an auto shop on Monday when he suddenly passed out.

Double L has been my favorite race caller for a long time. He is just a fun guy to listen to and be around. He has a lot of fun with his race calls but he also gets them right. No wrong names or missed finishes. Hope he gets well soon and is back in the announcers booth soon.

Best wishes Larry for a healthy and speedy recovery.

He's being treated in a very good hospital among the best in NJ.

My father had a brain tumor when he was in his early 40's and is still alive today at the ripe old age of 91. So I look forward to you resuming your calls ASAP.
