U Conn had an harder time winning the Big East Tournament than they did the NCAA Tournament. Had to beat NCAA teams seeded #6, #1, #3 and #4 to win the BET over the course of 5 days. Had to beat NCAA teams seeded #14, #6, #2, #5, #4 and #8 to win the NCAA over the course of 18 days.

The same Bobby Knight that says every year seeding makes no difference in the NCAA tournament?

Two years ago, Bilas was going on and on about how important seeding was. They then cut to Knight, and he says "seeds make no difference." Should have seen the look on Bilas' face.

No doubt the UK-UConn game was the real final, but I think Arizona, Kentucky and San Diego State were better teams than Pitt and Louisville, and especially Syracuse.

We'll never know, what we do know is that U Conn lost to Pitt, Syracuse and Louisville (twice) during the regular season, they didn't lose an OOC game all year, even on "neutral" courts in Arizona and SDSU's backyards.

Cuse had Uconn on the ropes in the BE tourney, they didn't show up in ot and uconn won. SU was a decent team this year, had they gotten by Marquette they would have beaten UNC.
