I just looked at today's card after the early scratches. 51 horse for 9 races with an entry in one of the races. We heard all of the S. Cal. excuses, but what's up NYRA? I don't remember it being this bad last year.

Did they raise the take out? It was higher than California across the board the last time that I looked.

takeouts for Aqu

WPS 16% among the lowest out there
Ex & DD 18.5 as good as it gets
Tris, Supers, P3 & P4 26% outrageous

it's bad at the end of the Inner Track season every year.

Nothing new.

Its never been as bad as it is now.The only thing i can relate this problem to is that all horses are stabled at Belmont due to the construction of the casino and maybe trainers dont want to ship the 4 mile distance to AQU.

Many trainers shipping back north wait until the Main Track reopens. They always get short fields around this time, but it's been a little worse this time around with Philadelphia and Penn National having equivalent purses for the cheap horses.

Yeah, that polytrack they put in really made a mess of things.....

Seriously, its the end of the inner track season. Compare it to Santa Anita or Golden Gate in a couple weeks and get back to us on this one.

Didn't NY take a couple of breaks last winter? I don't think they have done so this year. Many of the IDT mainstays are getting battle worn and the snowbirds have not started to return yet. Many are waiting for next week when the main track opens.

Uhhh yeah. Like many others, I have been critical of California racing, but the big A might be worse. Did you witness the Friday card? Are they joking? Says alot about the state of racing when one has to go to Louisiana and West Virginia for full fields and value.

You're absolutely right, NYRA should be subjected to the same scrutiny as the California powers to be. They're obviously dropping the ball as well, based on the product. Which is positively horrible.

There is a solution for you...DON"T bet AQU.

This shows how dumb some of you are...AQU handle today 7 million.
So who is betting there?
AQU and NYRA don't need your bets.
Go bet podunk or wherever.

At least Aqueduct can fill cards on a daily basis. Santa Anita couldn't fill the Wednesday (3/30) card.

Well, no kidding. I don't, as long as the product is terrible, which it most certainly is at Aqueduct. If you like the five horse fields go for it.
