A great actress. One of the few child actresses who went on to be major star as an adult.

One of the few true natural beauties of Hollywood. Never thought of her as leading a very happy life. RIP ~

My wife buys me these Old Guys Rule shirts from time to time. Great slogans, like "Legend in My Own Mind: If you don't know me, you're not from around here," or "No holes parred." My favorite is, "The older I get, the better I was."

So, this is the story of my dating experience with Elizabeth Taylor.

In 1993 (as I recall), I attended the Handicapping Expo. While standing next to another horse player, we got a tap on the back asking us to move out of the way. My friend turned to his left and out of the way, while I turned to the right.

As I turned, I found myself face-to-face with Elizabeth Taylor and Joan Collins. I literally bumped into to her.

Both of them were just little tiny things - both wearing high heels and I'd be astounded if either of them were more than 5' 4" including the heels.

Alas, that was our only "date."

Seriously, she was such a wonderful actress and amazingly beautiful. May she rest in peace.

Dave
PS: Maggie was a wonderful character in a movie full of wonderful characters.

They have remade several of her movies. None of them work if you saw her version. She is Maggie, Cleopatra ... and so many more. Rest in peace, Liz

Arguably the greatest actress in American film; certainly the most popular.
RIP

It's interesting how we have our perception of such a major figure set by an actress. Liz was stunning. Cleopatra however was quite plain, but extremely intelligent. She was also Greek, so didn't look a bit like Liz.
