I would appreciate some enlightenment from fellow 'cappers. Let me set the stage.

Third @ TUP today, 3/21. Eight horse field, 4/5 favorite runs 5th, 23-1 shot wins. The $1.00 Super comes back $24.00. The $1.00 Tri comes back at a reasonable $860.00. I believe there was $29,000 in the Super pool. How in the world is this payoff possible???

Thanks for any insights that can reconcile this apparent anomaly.

Was it an all pay?

Like 1-2-3-All?

That's wild. It doesnt say "all" for leg 4 in the chart. Equibase has the payout as 24 dollars for 1 dollar bet.

Equibase has wrong information, it paid like 200 something for a dime, which means it paid like 2k for 1

$24 is a misprint. It paid $2430

I see different payoffs from various sources.

DRF, and Brisnet both list a $1 SPR at $24.30
However, there is a 10 cent payoff of $243 listed at Twinspires.
Obviously, something is not right.

Thanks to everyone who helped clear up this apparent input error. I can now rest easily & simply concern myself with Pig Juice & other esoteric 'capping angles.

Fifty two years at this game & I'm still learning on a daily basis.

All fixed at EQU.
I called the racing office/mutuels dept for clarification and told 'em both Equi & DRF had it wrong.

The guy that works at TuP (as well as at YAV) for Equibase is a gem. A great person, a true professional, and a perfectionist with a conscience. He's the first to demand that someone bring a mistake/discrepancy/etc. to his attention and then goes as far as a guy can go to rectify it.

I'm sure he'd send you a great big and ultra-sincere "Thank You!" for your part in getting this fixed, so I'll do it for him. :)
