Live from my not too overly ostentatious "computer room'" here in Eastern Massachusetts, it's SAL, "Saturday Afternoon Live!" at Freehold Raceway. This is your host, Walt...a.k.a."Teach," "The Harness Maven," with guest appearances by: "The Voice of Freehold Raceway," Larry Lederman; "The Orange Crush," Andy Ray Miller; Hall-Of-Famer, Cat Manzi; "Gentleman Jim" Pantaleano; Pat "The Harvard Man" Berry; "Eric the Red" Abbatiello; Steve Smith; Jack Baggitt, Jr; Vinny Ginsburg; Harry "the Surfer" Landy; Jim Marshall III; John Kakaley, Jason Ricco; Bill Mann; Alessando Spano; and a host of others.
Race One:
#2 BUBBA MCGEE has faced better. Solid lifetime earnings. May have needed last after a one month layoff and ship in from Buffalo. Has shown little lately, but he may wake up in this group.
#4 KID RUCKUS will likely launch his usual "half-time" charge. Showed grit in last effort (he hung on for fourth). Get improved post position. Capable of hitting tote.
#5 CUT AND STYLE N has the services of Jack Baggitt, Jr. Baggitt "steers" horses as if they were race cars. May well fire out for the lead and try for upfront tuck. A factor on best effort.
#1 SUN SLICK BEAU gets post position relief. No chance in last blasting out from 7-hole in slop. Should be near the front of the field. Can he last.
#3 SOUTHWIND MAIZE is the "logical". Yet, I have more "reservations" than a traveling salesman. Yes, the horse was interfered with last week. I'm not saying he can't win; it's just that I'm not picking him.

Race Two:
#5 HAL'S LEGACY won gamely last time. His chauffeur is one of best drivers at Freehold: Jim Pantaleano. Will likely shoot out for lead. Ration. Ration. Ration. Should hang on.
#1 BIG MYSTERY is a nicely-bred gelding who finished third last week against slightly better. Should benefit from pylons. Will likely sit near front of field. Looks to hit the tote.
#2 SPECIAL STRIDES comes out of same race as Big Mystery. He finished fourth. Will likely take the overland route at the half. Early speed will help. Can't be ignored in gimmicks.
#7 SISYPHUS may have the unenviable task of plodding from off the pace in an uphill battle. Yet, thyis horse did produce some sold times at Tioga last summer. If reasonably ready?
#3 ALWAYS RIGHT could do little from the eight-hole, last time. Gets an improved post and may just pick up the pieces in a super.

Race Three:
#2 SAND HILL N has been a machine, lately. He's been either first or second in last five. Has faced better. The services of Jim Pantaleano: Three in a row! Should be "on the engine".
#4 BOSTON RED SOCK gets a slightly better starting post. He fits well in this field. He runs evenly and should be close in what I believe will be a tote-hitting performance.
#7 CAM'S CONQUEROR retains the services of Andy Miller. That's a plus! Will have to overcome 7-hole start. Ceretainly a factor. Might look for a tuck, mid-pack.
#3 TREMENDOUS HANOVER handily beat softer last week. This horse should not be ignored in your exotics and gimmicks.
#8 CHRIS might just pick up the pieces in a super. The number-eight hole can be imposing; yet, this horse could possibly add value.

Race Four:
#4 RC RAIDER may well have needed his last. He retains the services of "The Orange Crush". The horse gets an improved starting post. Should be near the front of the field.
#1 TREY looks like the major danger. Impressive effort last week (lost by a head). Should be challenging for the lead.
#7 I DOOD IT might just surprise and finish off a gimmick. This appears wide-open after the first two choices.
#5 RARE DISPLAY is no longer doing "the freelegged pace". He may, on his best - if ready - complete one of your gimmicks.
#8 HIGHVIEW FELLA N is another possible "surprise" choice. Could complete super on best.

Race Five:
#2 STOPWATCH N has faced better in the past. He draws an improved post. No lead-pipe cinch.
#1 BOLDER retains services of Andy Miller. Pylons. Should be the logical choice, here.
#3 PRINCE JAVELIN finished third in his last. He fits in this company. Might complete a gimmick.
#8 MOOSEHEAD JACK can be a surprise factor. Will Pat Berry shoot out from the outside and try to find a tuck. That would make a difference.
#4 A BAY BAY could do little from the outside post. He now gets an improved post from which to launch a bid. Might complete tri or super.

Race Six:
#4 JO PA'S FOD could do little on the Paterson Plank Road in the Aqarius and Four Leaf Clover Series. Now, in this company, with "The Pandy Man," he should prevail.
#1 SIR SISU again draws "the pegs" where he finished second in this company, last time. Should again hit board and be part of gimmicks.
#3 KINGS POINT ran a most impressive race last tiume against softer. Most capable of completing an exotic hi his current form.
#7 I SCOOT FOR CASH ships in from The Meadowlands were he experienced mimited success. He will have to overcome outside post. Services of Andy Miller. Might surprise.
#5 BOOGEYMAN is a classy sort who, on his best could complete a tri or super.

Race Seven:
#5 LIMESTONE RIDGE can be the factor here, especially if he leaves and can be somewhere near the front at the quarter-pole. This horse won two races back against slightly softer.
#2 KAUFMAN HANOVER can be right there in this highly competitive race This horse has won in this company in the past. Will need trip. Harry Landy is an up-and-coming, young driver.
#1 COPPER CANYON finally draws inside after two-straight outside starting posts. May just be able to complete tri or super.
#4 ZION TRAIN was placed first through disqualification in last. Prior to that, he was second. Certainly capable of completing superfecta.
#7 HEIR MAN gets switch to Cat Manzi. Will need speedy fractions up front to close into. Might pick up pieces in a gimmick.

The #7 cut it and hung on.The #5 would have won, if he didn't go back to the pylons down the back.Tough for me to swallow that type of drive at 2-1.

Race Eight:
#1 MR CHIN N has faced much better at Yonkers; yet, with little to show for his efforts. Might wake up here from the pylons. Andy Miller helps.
#5 DREAM PROOF has faced better at The Big M. He also might wake up in his new surrounding. Will need a trip.
#2 ART SIMPSON draws an improved post. Might just surprise and add value to a tri or super.
#7 BLUE SKY DE VIE draws the ouside. Yet, Cat may be able to overcome that disadvantageous starting post and complete a gimmick.
#4 DOCTOR LAUGHING is beginning to round into form after a lengthy vacation from the Freehold oval. Might pick up the pieces in a super.

Race Nine:
#2 SOUTHWIND IRVIN won his last in impressive style. He can repeat in his current, razor-sharp form.
#3 CAM'S ORACLE looks like the major danger. He could do littlke at The Meadowlands in a most recent try. However, he has faced better. He has the services of Andy Miller.
#1 ALA CARTE BILL draws the pylons. He fits in this company. He's most capable of completing a tri or super.
#5 FRITZIE ROCKET draws an improved post. He won two races back. Might complete super.
#4 BIG SLICK Z TAM might be able to pick up the pieces in the super.

Race Ten:
#5 DOGGONE INCREDIBLE looks like horse to beat.. Third in his last; first prior to that. Cat Manzi.
#3 TODD'S TOUCH was second in his last. He's very much a factor here.
#1 LUDI CHRISTY might surprise and add value to your ticket. He draws the pylons. Might be "on the engine."
#8 RAIDER'S MATCH could be the value horse here. If Jim Pantaleano leaves with this horse and finds a tuck....? Could be a factor.
#7 SAMSPACE gets Andy Miller. The horse has a tough post; yet, he fits in this company. Needs a trip.

Race Eleven:
#3 REAL LIAR get my tepid nod in a wide-open race. Looking to spring mild upset.; The horse has back-class and lifetime earnings of nearly 200 K. Might just prevail.
#1 POCKETFULL OF POWER draws "the pegs". Looks like a factor, here.
#2 B MY HERO retains Steve Smith. The horse has serious back-class.
#5 MCARDLES STAR gets the services of Andy Miller. Yet, I'm not sure this horse merits a 3-1 ML status. Certainly has the chance of hitting tote.
#6 GOLDEN SEVEN might just pick up the pieces in the superfecta.

Race Twelve:
#2 STAND UP FRONT has won two in a row. No reason to believe this horse can't make it three-straight. Vinny (of the Fusco famiglia) Ginsburg in the bike.
#1 MAGIC DANCER appears to be the major threat. Gets improved starting post. Can be part.
#7 QUICKFULL BLISS might surprise from seven-hole, especially if Marshall leaves.
#5 MACHED BILLS has been fourth in last two. Capabpl;e of completing tri or super.
#8 LIFE AND TAXES could surprise and add value to a superfecta.
