George and Lori Hall’s Sweet Ducky (http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/thoroughbred/sweet-ducky/2008?source=BHonline), winner of the Garden State and Seton Hall University Stakes last year and second to Dialed In in the Holy Bull Stakes (gr. I), has been sold to an anonymous buyer for the specific purpose of running in the March 26 UAE Derby (UAE-I).

Sweet Ducky's a very game horse.
I know I have a pic of him from last summer somewhere.
I was looking forward to seeing him as a 3 year old.

No mention of the buyer or his new trainer.
Hopefully he'll do better than Atomic Rain or West Side Bernie.

Any chance he would come back to run in the derby? I have him in the derby future pool.

Could this be the reason the buyer is remaining anonymous ?

Charming guy, I'm sure. He ran a horse in the Melbourne Cup and the Aussies were in a state of panic that he might win.

could only read the first half of that article, and I have no idea if I was reading a fluff entertainment novella, a propaganda slanted news article or what?. Not that it's much worse than the media I am accustomed to.

Anyway Ducky isn't tremendously talented but has some classic lines to his style. On the dirt he can be somewhat competitive if the race goes his way as in the Holy Bull.
Am I remembering correctly that the UAE Derby is still on Tapeta AW? If so he should be out-classed facing a presumably large field of hard charging turf horses.
