Snip> Residents handed out candy and sweets, one resident saying the joy “is a natural response to the harm settlers inflict on the Palestinian residents in the West Bank.” <Snip

Meanwhile, Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad said he “clearly and firmly denounces the terror attack, just as I have denounced crimes against Palestinians.”

“We are against all types of violence,” Fayyad said during a tour in Bethlehem. “Our position has not changed. As we have said many times before, we categorically oppose violence and terror, regardless of the identity of the victims or the perpetrators.”

It is one thing to denounce these attacks in Israeli/western media...Quite another to do so through Arabic/Palestinian sources.

Still waiting.

Then you confuse that with religion, or are you just a bigot?

He's a realist. He understands that what happens today is reality.

I read about this maybe a week ago? I wondered if it might come up.

pretty much ignored in many places.

Indeed. Is Texan trying to separate the political from the religious? No can do, not in that part of the world.

First off, I think you misunderstand my post. If however you did not, here is my response:

No, not a bigot at all - simply one who is apparently way ahead of you on the learning curve. Terrorists strike and kill the parents; even a Palestinian sympathizer should not be reveling in the cold blooded murder of 3 children, one was an INFANT stabbed through the heart.

If you side with the Palestinians in this matter, then God help you.

Defend away !!

The Muslim world would have the west believe this is a political struggle because it's easier to swallow. It's all about the dominance of Islam. The Palestinian street is its front line. To suggest otherwise is naive or bigoted...perhaps both. ;)

I would suggest it is more of a political struggle than a religious one, as Islam is more of a political ideology than a theological one. Islam and Communism share the same goal: World Domination.

Islam is a religion. It would be very difficult to convince a 16-year-old to blow himself up for a political ideology...

However, add in 72 virgins and they'll line up. ;)

DEBKAfile's disclose this was the first result of an Iran-funded secret conference in Khartoum last week of the heads of the national Muslim Brotherhoods across the Arab world,at which a plan was charted for Hamas to
launch a multi-casualty terrorist assaults against Israel on both sides of the Green Line. The Egyptian Brotherhood is the parent organization of Hamas.

Hey, 'cappy, I write this for your benefit to help you keep up with how well your religion of pieces is doing around the globe:

Thousands of Christians Displaced in Ethiopia After Muslim Extremists Torch Churches, Homes

Thousands of Christians have been forced to flee their homes in Western Ethiopia after Muslim extremists set fire to roughly 50 churches and dozens of Christian homes.

At least one Christian has been killed, many more have been injured and anywhere from 3,000 to 10,000 have been displaced in the attacks that began March 2 after a Christian in the community of Asendabo was accused of desecrating the Koran.

The violence escalated to the point that federal police forces sent to the area two weeks ago were initially overwhelmed by the mobs. Government spokesman Shimelis Kemal told Voice of America police reinforcements had since restored order and 130 suspects had been arrested and charged with instigating religious hatred and violence.

Prime Minister Meles Zenawi said the Islamist group Kawarja is believed to have incited the violence.

I don't agree , the Palestinians would do that for their own political

I'm not so sure about that either. Religion trumps politics. To be sure, Islam is a political system dressed up in religious garb. Is it any wonder the "elders" choose the young to blow themselves up for "allah"? Younger people are generally naive and ignorant and, therefore, easier to deceive. How willing would people be to blow themselves up -- to sacrifice themselves for a political ideology -- for the sake of some mere political figure or political cause? But all that changes once a divine cause is presented to them.

way to go guys,I thought the myopic ignorance had peaked, but right on cue the pA ot gang takes it to another level. To assert that the Palestinians reaction to their oppression occupation and imprisonment is a product of their "religion" is mind bogglingly stupid. If they could all be converted to Taoism they would docilely accept their fate, Yeah that's the ticket.

Setting aside for a moment the broad-brush charges of oppression, occupation and imprisonment...

Had the victims been Muslim instead of Jewish would the Palestinian response have been the same?
