They've had the stable area closed since last fall, so no horses there yet.

Track is sloppy.

And we arrrrre Off The Turf!!!

The pictures are very telling. I drove back to Campbell Lodge, a facility with a nice overlook of River Downs located on the Kentucky side with my binoculars and observed what the most recent photos above show.

The track and turf course are underwater on the backside all of the way to the patrol tower on the Riverbend side of the clubhouse.

The clubhouse itself seems to be high and dry (barely), and there is no water in the paddock area.

There is water on the frontside with possible light flooding on the ground level of the grandstand. The barns seem to be out of the water, with perhaps some flooding to the dorms building, and obviously the receiving barn.

IF there is no further rise River Downs should dodge this bullet. Both parking lots are completely flooded and Kellogg Avenue is completely inundated on the Coney Island side and also on the New Richmond side, but I couldn't tell how bad from my vantage point.

They (managment) are hoping for a Wednesday opening, BUT there is going to have to be some major water recession before there is simulcasting again at the River.

Anyone else????

This is the worst it's been since 97.I worked there at the time and was kayaking through the clubhouse getting stuff out.

I run usually every other morning and my jogging trail is down by the river. It's usually about 100 yards from the shoreline and there's about a 20 drop in elevation. This morning I had to walk down the railroad tracks to get to it,because the park was a lake, and the jogging trail was about 10 feet from the new shoreline.
