The Rick Beinhauer Sulky - UFO
Been a while since the Harmer came onto the scene and took the sport by storm. There is another bike making noise at Yonkers and Dover Downs. The UFO is from Curt Watson (same guy that gave us the Cheetah). It is similar to the Harmer in that the seat is offset from the center to the right thus making it closer to the inside hub/rail and thus giving the horse less distance to race. It is offset more than the Harmer.
The most distinquishing feature are the spokes of the wheels. Their curvy design are easy to pick up during post parades. I just any one that is into equipment being used on the horses might be interested.
Like any sort of equipment being used, you still need to have the horse to be able to win. it just makes decisions between two entrants a bit easier when betting on the fly. Attached is a pic of the bike with Pierce.
