This card has a few more decent possibilities than yesterdays card. The NW2's are pretty tough for me to handicap at this time. Many FHLD shippers make it difficult.I won't even bother with them tonight.

Lou Pena's barn seems to be sending out cranked up cripple after cripple. He has to keep replenishing his gutted ones with new claims. What a shame that they continue to allow this injustice to be implimented, all the while, most of the remaining colony of trainers and their owners are robbed of trying to turn a profit. The horses again of course get the worst out of the deal:ThmbDown: .Doesn't anybody question why nobody claims off of him?

The GP just keep betting these Pena horses even off miles in where they appear so lame.

It's just another night at "The Hilltop", I suppose, and just the same, usual circumstances in Harness Racing in general.

3 BURL HANOVER is the first claim off of Pena that I have seen so far. This guy Gerard has got "brass one's" for taking a shot here.He can prerace one though. I have seen him on Maine circuit and he can make one go!

The horse here I remember being a classy young one.I am thinking Ron Burke may have had him.Only six right now and he didn't look AS BAD as most of Penas horses.I need to watch him go tonight before the race.

Try the thoroughbreds. I seems too me, in Harness Racing there is really only one guy that needs to go (Lou Pena). Thoroughbred racing is dealing with at least one or two at each track. So many 30% trainers it makes me sick. The horses seem to follow a similar pattern after being claimed. You MIGHT be able to get one race out of them if you run them back quick enough. Then they NEVER ARE THE SAME UNLESS RECLAIMED BY ANOTHER CHEATER. Anyway, I am o.k. with that aspect of Harness Racing. It obviously has other issues, but from a betting standpoint I'm comfortable.

Looks like I'm gonna get sucked into playing Dr D's Escape . This horse always burns money for me , so I'll go easy. Top pick in the first.

Sad state of affairs in both worlds.I gave your pick a good "look see".He certainly looks like a contender on paper.Good Fortune:) .

The exactas are getting a good amount of play. The win odds should go down from 8-1.

I can't believe the amount of money burned on this horse. He's got 29 wins and I missed them all. :bang:

That was an interesting change of odds on him.He took a hit to 4-1 then popped right back up to 7-1,then another hit to 4-1 during the race..Poor steer there by J.P,sat in and then locked wheels in the stretch. He won't be driving next week:liar: .

I usually like the trotting events, but this one does not appeal to me.

Amber Buter has been hot. Limited # of starters this year, but still a good 30%. No less than 2-1.

I did not play. Buter is just NOT GOOD. He needed to move that horse out again at the 1/2, but stayed in. Had plenty late to justify. Also, he's terrible on the front.

1 THE POKESTER is one that certainly points in the direction of good things tonight. This has been a gritty little horse in his short career up until this year. That last race was a big confidence builder for him as he was digging in late against a much lower type of horse than he has been accustomed to be racing against.

I've been following the Board amounts pretty closely lately and I've noticed that effect.

A small wave or hit at 1 or 2 MTP then a lull with a rise on the 'hit' horse then the large wave, destroying any late Overlay.

Damn Robots watching the board  :)

Good Luck Guys, It's Hockey Time for me...

I have a strong "like" in tonight's 8th. The 2 My Masterpiece. Think he got a tough pocket "shuffle" in last. Looking for 3-1 or more with the move to the Catman.

YONKERS 4TH : CHEYENNE UNBERTO . Chasing after a 27.1 first quarter last out - might be enough to steal this one.

The theory is that the extra 1/16th will "expose" the cheap speed. O.K. so I'll go with #2 MEAT LOAF. I'm hungry - anyway!!!!!!!!!!! Come on MEAT LOAF:)

4 HASTA LUEGO gets a big switch here.Horses that owner Randy Bendis are giving to other trainers are improving at a good rate.Using here.

7 MASTER OF DESIRE is the obvious.

I'm not sure why my horse couldn't at least hold 2nd or 3rd. Still think all the action is up front, but I"m gonna sit out a couple . Might be back. Good Luck.

The #1 there DAVE AINT HERE was an underlay I thought.Stratton tried to leave then didn't pull.My pick was off the board here.

7 BIG BAMBU I thought was one of the better one's tonight.I believe George Brennan will be the difference here in making this one go his best.Mark Beckwithhas always been a below overrated driver and these days he is just unable to get one to go.

I am using 4 FOX VALLEY ESCORT some here too.his one was going good late in the mile last week.

The favorite was good enough to post the win there.7 BIG BAMBU was a good second @ 7-2.

4 FOX VALLE ESCORT Gapped pretty bad tonight following the top pick.

4 DREAM GURU was hanging in last and that sometimes will bring a horse into form off dull lines.Using 1-3-5-6 with him.

let's see if we can get back on trak here...
1 RUNNING BOOK was unasked by Sears in last late in the mile.I believe this one will be a contender second time off the claim.

5 ALLOVERAMERICA was not a sound animal in last, but was overloaded with pace late in that mile.I will use both here with the #1 TILT YA KILT in the finale for a double play.

1-5 exacta box in the 11th.

2 FOUR BRASS STARZ just noticed was beaten by DEAN M in last who is extremely sharp and finished second tonight in 20's from the 7 hole. This is an overlay.Using both 1&2...still a wide open race hoping to end it on a good note!

More of the same here...actually couldn't have been more wrong.Who made the #3 SILVER SUNSET 6-5...SERIOUSLY!

Lick my wounds tonight, so I will take the loss and chalk it up as a learning experience.

I figure in another two,or three weeks, to start increasing the bets and format them.

Until Thursday...Good Fortune:)
