Saw this horse at SA break his maiden first time yesterday, March 3rd 8th race last race on the card. Came from off the pace, no whip used. I think he could be a live one, like Bind at FG. Take a look at the replay and tell me if you agree.

He was prepared well by a very good trainer of first time starters.
That said, I wouldn't get too excited about a 3 year old gelding in a $ 50,000 Maiden Claiming race at Santa Anita where the highest previous Beyer of the other entrants was only 74.

Not even remotely comparable to Bind's performance.

Thanks for pointing that out, he was visually impressive to me and did it in good time and was well prepared as you said. I'll follow him though as he should stretch out well and i like his style.

The final time wasn't that great. The BSF should come back in the 75-79 range, nothing special. (Bind got a 105 while drubbing MSW competition by a much larger margin.)

Semper Augustus was very impressive visually, but the fig was modest and the field was weak. I hope he develops for Kathy Walsh, she is a hard worker who has paid her dues.
