Race 7 tomorrow at Santa Anita is a Nw1x going 1 mile on the turf. Janet Davison (0-7 at the meet) has an entry in this race. Here are their credientials:

:1: Jazzman's Dance- An 0-15 maiden running against winners, coming off a totally outclassed 9th in the Thunder Road Handicap. Five months ago he was beaten 19 lengths in a maiden claimer at Turf Paradise.

:1a: Olympic Chief- Best known for making his debut in the 2007 Arkansas Derby, he sports a 1-23 lifetime record, and has the lowest brisnet figure in the race by a stunning 17 points. He's been beaten double digits in his last 4 starts, has hit the board just two times and hasn't even cracked the $30,000 mark in earnings yet.

Who can possibly bet an entry like this?

A lot of people will. Don't be surprised if you see the Favorite/longshot bias at work here.

One thing is certain, these horses are a lot more likely to place or show than win. So betting across the board is a heck of a lot safer than betting win only.

There will be some people who will bet on them because, hey, there are two of them!

Which will make it even funnier when one of them is a post time vet scratch...

gheesh....race cards across this great country are littered with horses who have no chance of winning the race they are entered in.

Now, NO ONE will bet this entry, and I have lost my "edge"
