TVG Pick 3s, 4s, When they show analyst standing there like an idiot cracks me up

Videographer: "Okay Todd Schrupp now stand there for 15 seconds and smile and nod your head, what we are going to do is put you standing next to the pick 4 ticket"

TVG Analyst (Smiling) "Is it almost over? This is very uncomfortable" (speaking like a ventriloquist while smiling at the camera)

Videographer: "Dont worry, after 10 or 12 seconds we will put this on a loop so you'll look even goofier"

I give credit to these guys. I hate getting my picture taken, i couldn't imagine having to stand there looking like a goofball laughing and smiling and making uncomfortable faces at the camera. They must hate it. I can't help but laugh in good fun.

This game is a thinking man or womans game, therefore I think the bettors should think and wager for themselves, but there is a place for the entertainment that both TVG and HRTV bring to the table. They are both excellent tools for bringing new fans to the game. Imagine where this game would be today without either.

I'm not sure about HRTV as I have TVG, but there is so much more that they could do to try to teach and bring more fans to the game. I think they have alot of wasted programming. Look at all NYRA does and they don't have a 24 hour channel at their fingertips, also using the internet and weekly spots on cable with things like Trips and Traps and the new National Report show. Did TVG ever think about doing there own version of night school? Something like a weekly show that could teach newcomers about handicapping and different angels. The possibilities are endless, but I guess they rather show the Los Al replay show in the morning instead of something that might be benificial and expand their customer base.

PS: The game would probably be in the exact same place with or without those networks. I know that I only choose to watch TVG because I like watching the races better on my TV than on the computer.

They have Ken R giving out pick 4's at a harness track 3,000 miles away from where he works.

to be honest with you, i think their picks are pretty good. they are better than the ones that i can come up with. obviously its not the commenttor doing the handicapping. someone is sitting in the back room with a good set of pace figures and coming up with the picks.

i have no idea where they are getting the harness picks, but that must be very similar.
