Jean Luc Samyn recently lost a good part of two fingers and broke his thumb on his right hand during a snowblower accident.
The Veteran jockey said he will still return to the saddle ,
hopefully the end of March after some therapy.
Good luck to him and hopefully the snow is over !!!

Over 50 people have read this and no one has had the sympathy to wish Samyn well?

He's not important enough?

Get better JLS.

That is sad! I remember him(on the green) from the 1980s, and a first class guy. Best wishes, and hope to see him at the track

One of the true journeyman riders. I first saw him at Saratoga in the late 70's.
Get well soon JLS!!!
Oh, next time you need your driveway cleared, hire the kid from across the street to shovel it off!!!!

Samyn on the Green (or riding for the Amherst Stable)

Yeah, for the late P. G. Johnson (Pee Gee).

Get well for the turf season, Jean-Luc!

From what I hear and know, JLS is an all-around nice guy...if you've heard differently, I don't wanna know...

Tough to take such a savage injury to the very tools of his trade, but good to hear he intends to return...best wishes Jean-Luc!

Best wishes for a speedy recovery, Jean-Luc.

And for the others, NEVER, EVER STICK YOUR HAND IN THE SNOWBLADE AREA, EVEN IF THE MOTOR IS OFF. A lot of times, torque can build up in the blade and release when it is lifted slightly off the ground. Many accidental injuries happen this way thinking that if the motor is off, it has to be safe.

Jean Luc will be fine. He's been riding many, many years.

The frenchman, who has as much charm as anyone I've ever met . . . will be back to ride more. His beautiful wife will take good care of him.

Jean Luc is a great guy,I had the pleasure of breezing horses with him and Jacinto Vasquez on the turf at Hialeah while I was working for Scotty Schulhofer.Always a guy with a smile and a very good turf rider.Scotty just loved him and tried to mimick his french accent with his South Carolina drawl. We had a lot of fun back then .I havent saw him for years.Get well soon .Nothing worse then hurting your hand and fingers when you are a rider.
