Penn National, TVG in Marketing Alliance (http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/articles/61613/penn-national-tvg-in-marketing-alliance)
by The BloodHorse staff

Under terms of the agreement, racing from Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course in Pennsylvania and Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races in West Virginia will be featured coverage on a new TVG program, “Tuesday Nights Under the Lights.” The six-week series begins March 1.

“We believe the visibility and sponsorship derived from the TVG alliance will lead to additional viewership and more racing fans following, and wagering, on our racing product,” said Chris McErlean, vice president of racing for Penn National Gaming, Inc.

Of course they do, more money for them. The higher the take, the bigger their cut. They don't care about the fans, they just care about them. Its always been that way.

maybe TVG will also.

Sometimes I think this site focuses on takeout in lieu of things that matter a whole heck of a lot more.

Knight Sky, not trying to single you out at all, but low takeout doesn't automatically equal good track.

Understood.
Truth be told I'm studying up Charles Town during this point in time.
A fascinating track with its own set of racing rules.

So, this is why we don't see top harness racing at night?

Show tracks that can't do $750k handles on weekends?

Less racing televised on TVG would be better, of course.
