It charges about $5,400 to ship the animals via a Boeing 727 from Ontario to Albany, N.Y., where Saratoga Race Course is located. The price fluctuates depending on how many horses travel on the plane, which can hold up to 21.
Other rivals ---- such as FedEx ---- offer cages big enough to hold a horse and are shipped without white-glove treatment. Tex Sutton offers padded stalls assembled like a Lego-set as they are walked up a ramp and into the plane's fuselage.
