Race 1:

#4 SCENIC HALL has hit tote in last two. Switch to Meittinis. Closed sharply into relatively slow half mile.

#5 SPRING LIGHTNING is the logical choice. Likely chalk. Should be "on the engine". Ration speed?

#1 SON OF A LEGEND has "The Pegs". Should be no worse than third or fourth up backstretch. Close for part.

#2 NO SURRENDERS is the "mystery" horse. Can he handle tight Freehold turns? (appeared to in the past) Is he hurt? If ready, a factor.

Race 2:

#2 QUICKFUL BLISS is a lightly-raced 8-year-old Direct Scotter, Blissfull Hall gelding who may well be: "best of rest." Jack Baggitt, Jr.'s a plus. Back-class.

#1 VISCOUNT VIC A is the major danger (I have to pinch myself when I'm suggesting an 0-for-33 horse). Improved post. Does draw pylons. Has faced better.

#3 MAX POWER has faced better in Delaware. Retains Steve Smith. Improved post. Solid trainer.

#4 FRAPPER JOE is another horse who's faced better in Delaware. Might contend for a minor award.

Race 3:

#1 MASTER HANOVER just missed last time in this company. Closed well into slow fractions. Marshall handles trotters well.

#2 RAIN is another horse who closed well in same race as top pick. Retains the capable Steve Smith. Should be able to hit tote.

#5 SJ'S VIKTORY GIRL drops back in with kind she can contend with. "Gentleman Jim" Pantaleano is a plus. Has faced better both at Freehold and Chester.

#6 YOHZIK sounds like an African Pygmy Hedgehog, or something out of "A Clockwork Orange". In any event, this trotter won last time in this group and should be respected for that most recent effort.

Race 4:

#4 NATURALLY NOBLE has faced better on "The Avenue," Park Avenue. Now, he drops down with the kind he can handle. "The Pandy Man," Jim Pantaleano's a plus.

#3 MACHED BILLS may leave the gate like he's trying to break the sound barrier. It may come down to: Speed or Close?...Speed or Close? ... "It's....by three and three-quarter inches". Larry will tell us.

#2 BLISSFUL RACHELLE has hit the infield tote in all three of her recent races (four of last five). Looks to be in line for a minor award.

#7 MAGIC DANCER becomes a player, if he leaves. If Rucker guns this aged gelding to the top, and he can find a tuck...??? Might add value to a super?

#5 QUICK AND DEADLY has been first or second in his last two. Now moves to mid-pack. Yet, still capable of completing a gimmick.

Race 5:

#4 AWESOME GLOW must stay flat! It's as simple as that. If he does "The Lambeth Walk" ("Oi" not "Oy") instead of "The Freehold Two-Step," he can win. Two breaks in a row make me nervous. Can "Eric The Red" hold this horse together?

#1 XIAO XIANG draws the pylons. He's hit the tote in three of his last four. Should benefit from "pegs" and hit tote.

#2 LANGSIDE CASTAWAY tends to run evenly. Will benefit from inside starting post. Can be part on best effort.

#5 WINSOME WINNER may well be "The Grand Marshall" of this parade. He'll likely try to "bottom out" this field. Will he last? We'll know at the head of the stretch.

Race 6:

#1 I DOOD IT has faced better at Plainridge Racecourse in MA (This horse was a fan favorite). A 1:53.3 on a 5/8ths last year is not too shabby. "The Pegs" will help.

#4 LOGAN MONSTER could surprise and add value to one of your gimmicks. He fits in this company and might just garner a minor award.

#7 ATREUS had a decent qualifier. He'll have to overcome an outside starting post, but if he's reasonably ready, he might complete an exacta or trifecta.

#6 CRISPY TUNE has faced better in the past. Granted, he hasn't shown much lately; yet, he might wake up an add value to a gimmick.

Race 7:

#1 KEYSTONE MAXWELL had a decent qualifier. He draws "the pegs". Back-class. Marshall helps.

#7 LIKE A BREEZE looks like the major danger. Must overcome outside starting post. Prevailed in this company, last time.

#6 MY MAC looks to be on the improve. This well-traveled Striking Sahbra-bred gelding (he's raced in Ohio and at The Meadowlands) won in his last appearance at Freehold.

#4 PARADISE MAGOO might be able to see his way clear to a minor award. He performed very well on the Maine coast and in the Catskills before shipping to New Jersey.

Race 8:

#3 CAPTAIN JEETS finished third in this company last time. Any slight improvement and he can make his way over to "The Green Carpet" and a picture-taking session.

#2 WHITING HANOVER looks to be: The Major Danger. He finished third in this company (he's hit the tote in five of his last six). Should benefit from inside starting slot.

#1 CHEYENNE BRIAN draws "the pegs". He did face better at both Freehold and Yonkers. Might earn a minor award.

#6 HAL'S LEGACY gets Jim Pantaleano back in the bike. That's a plus. He did finish third in his last. He has faced better at both Freehold and The Meadows.

Race 9:

#5 MODERN DAY CLYDE employs the services of "The Orange Crush," Andy Miller. Nuff Said! Well-bred Beach Towel gelding who may have his sights set on bigger and better things.

#1 SOLANOS DRAGON is a well-bred 3-year-old colt (Nihilator, Dragon Again). He had a very good recent qualifier. Another horse who may test stakes company in the spring. Main threat to top choice.

#2 GREATHEART HANOVER won a recent qualifier. He fits well in this field of promising three year-olds. Should not be overlooked.

#7 DIXIE BRUSH had a very solid race in his last. He does draw outside but may be able to overcome that post to garner a minor award.

Race 10:

#1 BEACH ST BOGIE could do nothing from extreme ouitside post in last. He now moves inside where he should contend. Has faced better. Capable of getting all the enchiladas.

#4 TWICE THE PLEASURE fits well in this company. He's back on lasix. Should contend.

#5 BOBBY J is another horse that can contend in this company. He's been very lightly raced (took off all of last year). Did do a 1:57.1 at Vernon Downs as a four year old.

#7 RC'S BEACH BOY has hit the board in his last two starts. He looks like the kind of horse he could possibly complete a tri or super.

#3 FULL OF LUCK has faced better in the past. Yes, he's winless in his last twenty-seven tries; yet, he might pick up the pieces in the super.
