I have a quick question for the database types.

What day did the following tracks run their first turf race in 2010?

Aqueduct
Philadelphia
Penn National
Laurel

I don't have a database, but going from memory alone, those dates are pretty consistent each year. Weather permitting, Penn National is always mid-May and Philadelphia Park is always Memorial Day weekend.

Would you happen to know why Philly starts so late? Other tracks in the area are racing on grass long before them.

Philly's grass season is always Memorial Day-Columbus Day. I'm sure they could start it much earlier but that turf course always looks like its in horrible shape.

With the Wood being a week later this year I think the first date that there'll be turf races in the book at Aqueduct will be April 6. If somehow things go really well there could be some starting on March 30. The first turf race last year was run on Wood Memorial day, April 3.
