TommyE turns something today & brought us out of the dark and vinyl records for our listening pleaSURE.
Wanting to be like TE as a kid I took apart a record player. I used the motor to make an automatic door opener between our kitchen & dining room.
(Ma flipped when she saw I nailed a motor to the wall attached with fishing line to the door)
I then took the same motor and made a candy machine. Couldn't figure out how make people pay so it was based on the honor system.
Flip the switch and get a bar. Flip the switch without turning it off fast and you'd break the fishing line that opened the door.
2 this day, I'm still thanked by my sibs for the free candy bars.
Big Edi had it all figured out long before me and my dopey candy machine. :(
