Some "nerd" stuff to relieve some of the stress we are all under…

I just discovered that the BRIS DRF multi-format data files can be downloaded and uncompressed directly on a Macintosh. Previously I thought one needed their PC based un-zip .exe file or PP Generator to unpack these files. Just now, by sheer luck, I discovered that if Macintosh users go directly to the DRF multi-file download page, mouse click (hold down) on the date of the track data you want; select "save link as" {use the as "source" option NOT "as text" } and save the file using a name WITHOUT the .ZIP file extension, the resulting downloaded file can be recognized and uncompressed by StuffIt (a common Macintosh file compression utility..)

I had been downloading these files on my PC at work or using my daughters PC at home, then emailing them to my Macintosh where my handicapping software resides.

Don’t know how many other Macintosh users there are out there, but I thought I’d pass this along. I also emailed BRISnet.com and told them about this as well. I asked them to publish this capability on their website.
