One of the oldest tricks, a journeyman or better jockey replaces a lesser known apprentice. Happened in 3rd at GP, today. Elvis Trujillo for Josue Vargas.

Even better for the connections, announcement was made with 20 minutes to post. They didn't know that switch was to be made until then? What's up with GP, this matter and two very late scratches during meet?

This time, the change was beneficial to me. Elvis rode a perfect race, getting mount to comeback after other horse passed him in stretch. Hit P3 that probably would not have won if apprentice rode. Yesterday, no so lucky when late scratch was announced after first leg of P4 was run.

For the record, the jockey fainted in the jockey room just before the race. This is what necessitated the late change, nothing nefarious to see here.

That's good to know, thanks.
