Holy crap that was impressive. Memories of curlin's maiden race.

Hmmmmm; I saw Curlin's maiden breaker & I was a believer from the git-go. I wont put Shared Heart's performance in that class. But she looked good enough. Wonder what her fig would be if she hadn't drifted out to the hot dog stand. I'm gonna predict they start her on the turf sometime soon.

Why? That usually isn't how things work in the US. She'll move to turf if she proves she can't win stakes races on dirt maybe, but it makes no financial sense to jump to turf with a good dirt horse.

Looked like she was heading straight for the winner's circle without passing the finish line first!

I will be surprised if she wins two more races. In fact, I won't be shocked if she doesn't run in two more races.

JMHO...a daughter of Forestry. I'm thinking there's good money for a 3yr old filly to make on the grass as well, with possibly less capable competition.

not curlin as far as talent, curlin the way he drifted out and was still opening up. she's a good one

I agree.

Anyone notice the 6f fraction? Nice timer at Gulfstream, glad they don't bother to fix it after all these years.

I saw that 1:04 and change and thought, "Well, it is Pletcher."

True.

When things like this show up, the final time is usually not very reliable in my experience.

Does one obviously faulty quarter throw off the subsequent final time? Why?

I don't know why, but usually something is screwed up overall when that happens. I'll time it myself tomorrow and see how close I think it is. It may very well be right, but most times it isn't.

According to the charts:

22.2
45.1
123.3

Doesn't sound too far out of the realm of possibility.

You missed the one in question that cardus already alluded to in a prior post.

Almost any time could be "within the realm of possibility". That is part of the problem with the Equibase error checking. They only catch the most egregious errors.

I'm sorry.
I did catch what Cardus wrote. However I didn't catch it while watching the race.

This horse reminds me of the infamous Christine Daae.

I think CD just wasn't handled right. she had talent. she had real talent. It was like king cobra was just chasin a dream the last half of the year. I think that's why you haven't seen her, she needed a break. She wasn't the same after that allowance race.

And then Crimson China scorches them on the grass after Ari C. did all the dirty work in 1:46 and change in his third start. His prior two starts were competitive runs on English polytrack...was this a legitimate time on the turf course?

Agreed. Christine Daae's GP win was ultra-impressive. Could the gross mismanagement be blamed only on the distance switches?

Finally going to make the second start of her career. Don't know what her problem was as she was a vet scratch in Feb.
She's MTO tomorrow in the 7th race...a NW1X at one mile on the turf. I still think , with her breeding, she could compete on the turf, but who am I to question the great Todd Pletcher. ;)
