Neat Lightning ran a nice race today in the third at Gulf. First time starter for Fawkes ran 6 1/2 fur in 1:17.2, hitting the 6 fur mark in 1:10+.
Not the most regally-bred filly & making her debut in a 25k claimer, she did look very professional in her win today....stalking the 4-5 Ward favorite, took the lead at the top of the stretch & drew off late. Didn't look green at all, changing leads on cue & running a straight course.

He put the big favorite away and when he hit the stretch it carried him as it has been doing all weekend. All you have to do is look at Big Drama's time to see just how fast the track was. The people maintaining the track this year are doing a great job.
