Very fond of this horse. Hope O'Neil doesn't work too much of his magic on him.

ARCADIA, Calif. – Square Eddie, winner of the Grade 1 Breeders’ Futurity in 2008 but a horse plagued by injuries and setbacks for the last two years, comes out of retirement after an 11-month layoff in an optional claimer over 6 1/2 furlongs at Santa Anita on Friday.

has approx -5% chance in that race. moonlark is a buzzsaw.

What I don't get is, he won a grade 1 going 2 turns, finished 3rd in the breeders cup going 2 turns, and ever since, all they want to do is run him 1 turn. That never made sense. If he is going to do anything IMHO it's going to be going 2 turns, probably on the grass.

Going two turns at 2 really isn't the same thing as doing it later. He never expended his energy like a true router.

What makes you think Moonlark will like dirt?

Surely, Joanied could not be wrong about this, and "newbies" should heed what she posts, and "newbies" should enjoy racing more because of posts like hers.

Great way to grow the game.

Go White-Faced wonder! Speaking of balds...can anyone mention or post pics of some good-lookin' bald-faced horses? And define the true bald-faced...

best race of his life was at HP which transfers very well over to dirt, and there is nothing in his pedigree that tells me he won't like dirt. He just so happened to be trained on a circuit where there wasn't dirt. I don't hold that against him.

He's going to get hammered I doubt I play, but still, horse is a standout in this race and I would be shocked if He didn't' win by open lengths.

I get that, but I also see that he improved when moved from dirt. It isn't like he hasn't run on it before. Maybe some of it was the trainer change as well, we'll see.

Yes he came from the lukas barn if I am not mistaken. That that has alot to do with it as well.

What do you think about the routing at 2 comment being different than doing it when a horse is older?

Oh:blush: ...thanks, guess I should have looked it up:bang:

Do hope he runs well, but maybe if he doesn't, they'll go ahead and really retire him, before something bad happens...he's had so many problems, I think they are taking a big chance racing him again...but of course, if you can squeeze a little more purse money out of him, why not:rolleyes:

Piebald - Definition

This article is about the animal coloration. For the musical group, see Piebald (band) (http://www.wordiq.com/definition/Piebald_%28band%29). A piebald horse

A piebald horse (http://www.wordiq.com/definition/Horse) is a horse with large grey and black patches. The colour of the horse's skin underneath its coat may vary between black or pink.

Similar to the skewbald (http://www.wordiq.com/definition/Skewbald) and oddbald (http://www.wordiq.com/definition/Oddbald), these colours are now no longer in common use in the UK and are more correctly referred to as Coloured. However, the term is still in common parlance in Ireland (http://www.wordiq.com/definition/Ireland) where piebald horses are popular amongst Irish Travellers (http://www.wordiq.com/definition/Irish_Traveller). In the US, the more common term for this colouring is paint (http://www.wordiq.com/definition/American_Paint_Horse).

Piebald is also used to refer to dogs (http://www.wordiq.com/definition/Dog) with the same coloration.

A pie bald face is just a white 'blaze' that covers most of the face, even around the eyes.
I don't care for that type of face coloration on horses, and for the horse, it's not good either because they get sunburn very easily. Below, it's the top right picture.

This is a photo of Phantom On Tour...he has a pie bald face.

nice e-pat on the back

Don't think he was a bad fav. i did not wager on the race (i mostly play only turf races) but if I did, I mean what more do you want? he just got beat lol. dont' think he got the trip he wanted either, benearjo has a tendency to get too cute from time to time, and I think this was one of those cases.
