The Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, KS, will once again raise it's ugly head by picketing near the funeral of 9 year old Tucson shooting victim, Christina Green.

Is there room anywhere on this earth for those who preach such hatred?

Arizona is going to try to pass a law to stop it. It will, in time, be declared unconstitutional but it will be used to stopped them at the shooting victim's funerals.

Fred Phelps, another lunatic democrat spewing hate.Where do you get the idea this low life is democrat? For the record, the reason he is doing these protests is he believes that is the USA is being punished for its toleration of homosexuality.

Apparently so. Progressives, Liberals, Socialists, Marxists do so daily around the world.

Let them protest. Given Arizona's liberal gun laws there's bound to be someone who would enjoy exercising their 2nd amendment rights against these pricks.

Dispatch these folks to Jesus. ;)

Dispatch these folks to Jesus. ;)Lets hope not. The last thing Arizona needs right now is more killing. What is needed is for everyone to stand up and repudiate not only their methods but also their message. They will stop when they realize that their "protests" are counter productive.

Where do you get the idea this low life is democrat? For the record, the reason he is doing these protests is he believes that is the USA is being punished for its toleration of homosexuality.

The guy is nothing but a nut, but he has run for office many times as a Democrat and has gotten more than a few votes:

Phelps has run in various Kansas Democratic Party primaries five times, but has never won. These included races for governor in 1990, 1994, and 1998, receiving about 15 percent of the vote in 1998.[36] In the 1992 Democratic Party primary for U.S. Senate, Phelps received 31 percent of the vote.[37] Phelps ran for mayor of Topeka in 1993[38][unreliable source?] and 1997.[39]
Support for Al Gore

Phelps supported Al Gore in the 1988 Democratic Party primary election.[40] In his 1984 Senate race, Gore opposed a "gay bill of rights" and stated that homosexuality was not something that "society should affirm".[41] Phelps has stated that he supported Gore because of these earlier comments.[42] According to Phelps, members of the Westboro Baptist Church helped run Gore's 1988 campaign in Kansas. Phelps' son, Fred Phelps Jr., hosted a Gore fundraiser at his home in Topeka and was a Gore delegate to the 1988 Democratic National Convention.[8] Gore spokesman Dag Vega declined to comment, saying "We are not dignifying those stories with a response."[43]
Opposition to Al Gore, Bill Clinton, and Hillary Rodham Clinton

During the 1992 presidential campaign, Phelps protested Hillary Rodham Clinton during a campaign speech in support of the Clinton-Gore ticket at the University of Kansas on October 14, 1992. In Bill Clinton's second presidential campaign, Phelps and the Westboro church also opposed Clinton and Gore because of the administration's support for gay rights. The entire Westboro congregation picketed a 1997 inaugural ball,[44] denouncing Gore as a "famous fag pimp."[45] In 1998, Westboro picketed the funeral of Gore's father, screaming vulgarities at Gore and telling him, "your dad's in Hell."[45]

And we can easily track that depravity right back to its source in AZ. That sheriff can't hear and see enough of himself on TV shows.

Maybe we are being punished for tolerating him.
Let's hope some nut job out there gets pissed off at HIM next time.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fred_Phelps So he was a democrat until 1990 or so when they left his anti gay views behind. I know of no democrat office holder or party offical who would publicly agree with his views today.

Shooter's friend says he never listened to talk radio....it was on the NY Times sites but taken down.

Maybe what people need to do is stop making stupid connections to talk radio and do their damn jobs. This guy was NOT a secret. This shooting might have been prevented.

I understand and support the first admendment - but I don't think that right includes a "time and place" clause.
