Does anybody have any knowledge on why Gordon Jones is no longer on the radio show that he created called Track Talk sponsored by Sams Town in Las Vegas?

Retirement perhaps? He is in his mid 70's and may have just decided to wind down and withdraw from the working world.

Gordon was back this morning, it looks like there was some kind of contract dispute with Boyd group.

As I said before, without Gordon Jones who brought this show to the radio 15 years ago, you would not really have a show.

Gordon's recall, knowledge and story telling about racing is unparalleled.

Welcome back. :):jump::)

Gordon has probably forgotten more about horse racing than a few of these poster's on here. All want to bring up the same old story from 30 years ago. Who give's a rats arse? I'm not going to jump on his band wagon...but the guy has total recall, is a Mensa member, written horse racing books,taught classes at University level and is a math wizard. He also hand timed all California Fair Circuits. I've disagreed with Gordon plenty of times on his selections in person. As far as Joanne goes, dad taught her well. The radio show is self-promoting and also promotes the casino. Gordon, enjoy the rest of your life. You've earned it! My 2c

Why bring it up a year since the last post? Do you see the irony here?

You didn't want to? Coulda fooled me. Total Recall, Schwarzenegger had it, too, in his film of the same name. Didn't win him the Oscar though. (May have won him a place in his maid's heart, or wherever, instead. I digress, forgive me.)

Anyway, its great to "all hail" your favorite, but is it really necessary to knock those in the dirt here that you claim no one gives a rat's arse (as you called it) about?

This is worth giving some serious thought, but only after you've hung around longer than 176 posts. You'll learn exactly how much knowledge some of these gentlemen possess.

Sometimes (but not always)the number of posts is inversely proportional to the posters intelligence. I had a fellow PM me that had some very astute things to say about handicapping and fellow PA members. He had 8 posts total. This reminds me of a poem from The Lord of The Rings:

All that is Gold does not Glitter,
Not all those that wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not whither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring,
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.

This fellow had been reading and following PA for years, but chose to say very little. I have myself been guilty of posting when I had very little to say.
Many of the newbies on this board are woefully ignorant and many are not.

Best to just form your own opinions and not try to read too much into things...or else you'll end up thinking there is a conspiracy behind most every thread.

This board is one big community, made up of all sorts of people from all walks of life from all sorts of places.

Any advice that is well intended I will heed, and I believe yours is. I meant what I said about the inverse proportions posts/intelligence. It often means nothing.
