Mike Singletary was canned after Sunday's loss to the Rams

Troy Smith and Mikey got into it during the game .......and I think his wishy washy on and off switching of Quarterbacks may have doomed him.

Long over due. The players had stopped buying into his motivation speeches because his strategy didn't work. The 49s have quite a bit of talent and a new coach could take them a long way if they can find a QB.

Singletary is from the "old school" if you will. I could see how the divas in todays NFL would have a hard time with his coaching style. But, to Gorens point, it makes it all the more difficult when from week to week you not sure who your starting QB is gonna be.

Horrible coach, came into the HC gig at SF as underqualified as someone could be...

But one of the best LB's I've ever seen....busted something like 12 helmets at Baylor in practices.
