Haven't seen him on the NY circuit in a while. Frankly, I've been wondering the same thing. Anyone have a clue where Robbie "On the Rail" Davis can be found?

Robbie was riding in California for a while, I think. Maybe retired?

There was a time a few years ago that he rode on weekends only. Haven't seen him in a while though.

Davis was injured mths ago, or possibly close to a year or more now. I know he's got like 6 or 7 children, so When healthy again
he may return.Question is, IF AND WHEN ??

I knew I had read something about him earlier this year so I searched DRF and found a 1/14/03 article.

The link is:

http://www.drf.com/drfNewsArticle.do?NID=43531&subs=0&arc=1

If the link doesn't work here are the opeing paragraphs...

The pain in Robbie Davis's left knee made it impossible for him to ride any longer. The responsibilities awaiting the 41-year-old jockey may make it impossible for him to stay away.

That is why Davis is preparing to undergo two separate operations in the next two months - one to repair the meniscus ligament and another to repair the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee. The surgeries could dictate whether Davis continues his career or is forced to hang up his tack.

"It's up in the air," Davis said Tuesday from his Long Island home. "It's very depressing."

If the surgeries and post-operative rehabilitation go well, Davis could return to riding in the fall.

I think he was on the horse that crushed Mike Venizia. That bothered him for a long time. That might have been when he went to California, because of the baggage of that accident.

Ironic you should ask that today as he is the headline story on NYRA site

I heard he started a weight-loss buisiness run by retired jockeys.

Sorry to bump a very old post ;) but i think Robbie Davis is listed to ride a horse at Belmont on Saturday?

This would be his first ride in quite some time if its really him and he's really going to ride?

He just rode :1: Rachel Mon, a filly he also trains, in today's 5th at Belmont.
Went off at 47-1, and did not hit the board. Horse listed as carrying 124
