Did any of you chrome users "apply" for the offer of a free Google Chrome OS laptop that shows up at the top of the New tab page in Chrome?

Mine showed up tonight, they don't even tell you you're getting one by email...boom, it just showed up on the doorstop. It's definitely alpha sw and hw (which is why they're not selling it) but hell, a free laptop with 8 hrs battery life, solid state storage, and built in 3G with a little free data every month for 2 years....pretty nice gift from the big G.

Thursday last week....they are still showing the apply link on my new tab page, so they still must have more. I think I heard they were handing out 60K or 70K of them.

The link is still there as of right now.

I went through the process but changed my mind when they asked if I would use it as my primary computer.

Yeah, I figured that out yesterday and applied. Sounds "nifty" to me.
