Since 2001, CA has lost more than 631,000 manufacturing jobs.

If you read the article, a lot of companies are moving to Colorado Springs - anyone know why?

They specifically mention the inventory/business property tax. That is such a crock of shit. It keeps businesses from buying equipment by putting the cost of the equipment out of reach. It also is responsible for the term "satellite offices" that nobody seems to know where they are.

The next time you hear California officials complaining think of this thread

For more CA humor

My CA home value declines my property tax increases.

To further assist me CA has raised my vehicle license fee to $500.00 per yr.

Photo enforced intersection violations now above $500.00.

wow, man. that's sayin somethin, yepper.

I've been on this calif. tax issue etc. for lots of years, i just kept telling myself that they would be the first to develope real problems, and so it is, yep.

I had some property in Az, value went to about 1/2 and the taxes went up almost 3 times in same periods.

Hey, that vehicle fee, is that for a CAR or is that for your space ship?

Its for providing transportation for our new old governor taking office next month. After all, they do call him Moonbeam for a reason, and he often does go very far out.

Oh I forgot to mention:

Several years ago I dropped a cigarette from a parked vehicle my reward:

$300.00 fine.

+

2 days of community service at a local park raking leaves.

Bear in mind that's with a perfect driving record no tickets or accidents in 30 years.

 Reminds me, this was Tenn, but i went to Jail for eight hours, plus a fine ("?) for driving 1 hour too much, in the previous week.
My error, i understand, but the best part was the fact that the guy who ran the show, went to court, he lost, got fined $275.000, and he lost his job.

If the fine is 500, then by the time they add on the fees and taxes you are looking at well over a grand. I know I recently had to sat in a court room waiting to see if I would be used for jury duty.

One eye opener was when the Judge got a round to the daily job of addressing all the people stopped for driving without a license. It was over half the defendants on the docket (25-30 people). The judge divided them into three groups, first offense, second offense, and third offense. (I'm not kidding) then advised each group of their rights through an interpreter. Most did not half insurance either. Do not drive in CA without uninsured motorist coverage.

If you were a famous celebrity , you could have opted for time in rehab

That seems to be a new trend everywhere - cops no longer protect and serve - they extort nowadays. Hard to respect a cop sitting behind a bush waiting to nail someone going to work Real hard. If crime is that low, lay the guy off and save some real money. If crime is not down, then put his ass on something useful. Preying off of citizens trying to get by is pretty GD low.
