Hold on...hold on...I was sure that the SEIU was all about helping out its people? Isn't this one of those leftist groups? Well doesnt that just beat all....:bang:

SEIU to drop Health Care Coverage for Worker’s Children thanks to ObamaCare

Talk about irony. The Obama administration and the SEIU (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aQ1NJaCtIkM) are tied to the hip and SEIU union boss, Andy Stern (http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2009/10/30/seius-stern-tops-white-house-visitor-list/), was Obama’s number one White House visitor. SEIU backed Obama’s health care takeover only to have the same health care law force them to drop coverage for SEIU worker’s children.

I’m sure SEIU will receive a HHS waiver (http://scottystarnes.wordpress.com/2010/11/16/the-111-big-corporations-and-unions-who-received-obamacare-waivers/) excusing them from the ObamaCare healthcare mandate like all the other unions that supported Obama.

The Wall Street Journal (http://blogs.wsj.com/metropolis/2010/11/20/union-drops-health-coverage-for-workers-children/) reports:

One of the largest union-administered health-insurance funds in New York is dropping coverage for the children of more than 30,000 low-wage home attendants, union officials said. The union blamed financial problems it said were caused by the state’s health department and new national health-insurance requirements.

The ObamaCare side effects continue. Now children are losing their health insurance thanks to Obama’s health care mandate.

The fund is administered by 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers East, an affiliate of the Service Employees International Union. Union officials said the state compelled the fund to start buying coverage from a third party, which increased premiums by 60%. State health officials denied forcing the union fund to make the switch, saying the fund had been struggling financially even before the switch to third-party coverage.

The fund informed its members late last month that their dependents will no longer be covered as of Jan. 1, 2011.

This was predicted as a tactic of the SEIU and others, to force everyone to buy insurance from the government. Effectively pushing everyone toward a public option and saving the Unions money in the long run.

This will be a high profile example.

So many of us saw this public option "back door" strategy playing out. It is is inevitable.

Welp, if ya think about it, not all that bad.

Because if they abort ALL their kids, bingo, they wont need the child care.

welp, i guess, you make your decision, whatever?
but yes, if you can abort at 8 or 9 months, why not 24 months.?

this might be too much all at once, i understand.:)

I hope the next president makes it a priority to cancel those waivers.

yeah, when the big bosses call you and threaten to rip your ass from stem to stern, it makes it easy to find "another reason" and re-iterate your support for Obammycare
