Is anyone using this hand held computer? I have mixed results that are about 10% below their advertisement for their top 3. What is your opionion?

Calling this device "a computer" is a criminal act, IMO.

A neighbor handed me one about a month ago, and asked me for my opinion.

It won't even allow you to enter the data the way they are presented in the PPs. Instead, you use pre-set keys...and the directions go something like this:

"If the horse's last race "Beyer" is 0-35, press "1"...if the Beyer is 36-65, press "2"...if it's 66-95, press "3"...if it's 96+, press "4".

Clearly, this is a very high precision instrument.

I asked him to send it back for a refund as soon as possible...but my neighbor told me that a refund was not offered...

If the "inventor" of this gadget had even an ounce of decency, he would have made it possible for it to be used as a $3 calculator...but he didnt even do THAT!

I have tested about 300 races. There have been some big winners ($83.00) the biggest. But not showing much profit.

No offense but I check 300 races when I'm sitting on the john in the morning. My point is a long study split into several groups is the proper way to test anything. If their website has been around a long time they probably tested it long term. If not then not. Just my unbiased opinion.

What % of winners are they claiming to have in their top 3?

I just checked their site, and they claim to have tested it over 1500 races, and have a hit rate of 65.4% winners in top 3. I think 1500 races is not enough, but the 65.4% seems reasonable.

How are you betting the selections?

Have you tried using a Dutch-bet tool on them? With a little testing you may be surprised.

I'm not 100% positive, i've not done a study, but you can probably get that kind of percentage just betting the TOP 3 ML. At least close.

Yes you could, but what are this program's average win odds?

Let's say exactly 1,500 races.
Betting 3 horses a race would be an investment of $9,000 ($6.00*1500)
Advertised Win % = 65.4 would equate to 981 winners.
To break even $9,000/981 the average win mutual would have to be $9.17

Good luck in achieving that mutual.
Of course, some will with the occasional $83.00 winner.

This sounds a lot like the "mattel horse race handicapper" sold in the 70's.....If i remember that was cumbersome and time consuming to use, but rather successful for some people.

Believe it or not I still have my MHRH.

Hopefully it will be considered a pricey antique and allow me to
even out my losses through the years using the the sheets, pace
and speed figures etc.:jump: ...

Now if i could only find my dot system book:rolleyes:

More power to you. My butt would be so numb and my legs would fall asleep if I did that.

Shouldn't any "decent' handicapper be able to get 65.4% winners with 3 selections, with his own handicapping skills?
