Now that LaL has been retired, who will emerge among the older males? Fly Down? Is Paddy O'Prado coming back?

Someone that's also a year older, First Dude. And if he makes it back to the races the horse that's fallen from conversation, Rail Trip.

Blind Luck will probably win some classic division races in 2011 if they let her run in them.

Some others names to throw out there...

Trappe Shot
Etched
Misremembered
Richard's Kid
Dakota Phone
Fly Down
Haynesfield
Drosselmeyer
Crown of Thorns
Noble's Promise
Musket Man
Twirling Candy
Ice Box

Hard to get fired up about any of those.

Looking at that list, I begin to understand why Beyers for stakes races are trending downward.

I am skeptical about Blind Luck returning with the same fire in her belly after her rugged 3yr old campaign....we've seen others not return quite as good after a tough campaign....esp the girls.

Racing really needs a 3 year old gelding to emerge and then stick around till age 5 or 6.

Phantom I agree with your concern about Blind Luck. However, even if she doesnt improve, or even consistently run back to her 3 year old form next season, she'll probably still be right in the mix with the list of world-beaters being assembled here so far.

Males??? Don't need no darned colts and horses.

I'm looking forward to Blind Luck coming back. A lot.

And I'll be watching a little mare named Goldikova race across the pond.

On the male side...

I'm going to be interested to see how the unluckiest race horse of 2010 comes back from his layoff: Uptowncharlybrown.

Fly Down.
I'm also hopping Paddy will race in 2011 - I love a good turf horse and I'm still bummed they put him in the BCC (and yes, I know why they did it). He's a star anyway IMO.

I'll think of a couple others I'm sure.

In addition, some of the class of 2010 may step up and improve. It will be interesting to see.

I'm still bummed LaL is going to stud. BUMMED, I tell you. That's horse reacing.

Successful Dan will establish himself as a legit older handicap horse in the Clark this week.
