The dust has barely settled from the breeders cup races and the race to the KY Derby is underway. Does anyone see a standout in this weekends Delta Jackpot?

In years past a derby threat hasn't emerged from the Delta Jackpot. Maybe this year a threat will emerge. I can say this much about horses from Delta Downs, their form does transfer to CD and they usually have a front running style.

I am suprised that more trainers don't target the jackpot - it's a true win and you're in race.

This will be the 6th running as a Grade III stakes but the first one in daylight.

I'll be conducting a $100 cyberdollar wps-ex-tri contest (http://theknightskyracing.blogspot.com/2010/11/delta-jackpot-saturday-afternoon.html)
on this Race of the Week.

Bullring experts are welcome to participate.

Great betting race. No real standout to me. If you're playing the Pick 4 you may want to hit the ALL button on this one. ;)

Baffert's horse could crush these IF he handles dirt. There should be a fast pace in the race.

I did wind up putting Sweet Ducky on top with outsider Clubhouse Ride behind him. I do fear the late developing Rush Now, though. Good luck!

The only thing that can beat the :6: here is the early speed of the :7: . There should be no problem getting the distance for the :6: given the breeding...it's just a question if he can rate off the :7: who is clearly faster early...

Then again, they are taking the blinkers off the :7: for today's race...maybe they are looking for him to take back a bit, which would only make it easier for the :6: who is a gift right now at 5/2.

The price is right at 10-1.
I like the :4: because he can bust races open, has two 2 turn wins, and really improved his game on the jump from MSW to a Stakes race...nice. Throw in those good works and a decent 4-1 price and I'll take my chances. He may have the problem of keeping Bug Juice honest, which could cost him though.

Oops...cave in!
The :7: ran one hell of a race there. You DO NOT go 22.66-46.56 and sub 1:12 at Delta and hang around til the end. I haven't been watching Delta all day...has it been fast?

Seems like that should have paid more. Unless there were players boxing the four longest prices.

awhile back i noticed that the calder 2 year old program was strong this year along with deleware. the saratoga meet for 2 yo's was not as strong as it usually is. i know that because we had an open maiden special weight winner first out in what looked to be a good race on paper that turned out to be not so good. don't get me wrong, uncle mo and boys of tosconova looked real good and ran good in the juvenile breeders. but they both have more to prove going forward.
