Takes on all comers - if she were US-based, she would be in the HOY running, imo.

if Espoir City wins the Classic, she might still be HOY :-)

The great ones make it look easy.

she gets fierce in the lane, when she gets into her drive her head points forward like an arrow, not bobbing up and down, just steady and determined.

That was ridiculous. I had a bet on Usual QT and when i angled out i was like "i got a shot" and in the blink of an eye, i got dusted.

She does, indeed, ArlJ, she does--I mean she's got that look, its dead set on her face, "get outta my way boys, I'm gonna mow all of you down." And she does so, time and time again.

THE GIRL, DON'T PLAY, SHE JUST DON'T PLAY!!!!

What a champion!!!

I'm so damned happy...been jumping around and scared the dogs!! She gave me goosebumps...then when they showed her groom running the stretch and jumping for joy, that brought the tears...IMO, THAT was a fantastic shot:ThmbUp:
You cannot top what Goldikova just did...WOW!

they just showed the clip again at the end the secruty dude was coming to get the groom. god horse racing would walk out the bunny ranch and get busted for soliciting on the corner of 12th street

That's hilarious and I'm going to use it at some point. Probably wouldn't go over well with the wife though, so I'll have to find another spot to use it.

Hey Joanie,I know you are enjoying the races today, just wanted to say hey!

I remember being impressed with Zarkava back in 2008 and Goldie had run well vs her,so this makes 3 wins for me with her.Although I had a huge exacta with her on top of Paco that missed by a narrow margin. She is impressive.

I didn't snap a ton of photos this weekend; too much running around. But that - Goldi and a sea of ear-to-ear smiles - was a moment.

So thaaaaaaaaat's what they mean when say a horse 'levels off'. Wow, she dropped her head and ended that thing in a few strides. Paco Boy may just quit racing altogether...dude's gotta be having nightmares.

The replay of her groom running along the outside rail screaming "Goldi! Goldi! Goldi!" was neat. Those grooms spend the most time with them and really form a bond.

That video will be shown for years. I know the credentialed photogs wouldnt get the photo (because it was behind them) butI hope oneof the rail bird fans (like myself) was able to get that. That would be the eclipse winner.

Did I hear this right or am I offbase??

Is Goldikova's trainer Miesque's jockey??

If that is so,that is the most awesome thing I have heard in racing in my whole existence.Which is only 14 years. But again if true, totally bada$s.

Is it true?

Grits

Cincy, yes it true. Freddie Head was Miesque's jockey.

How ya doin Grits?Hope all is is well.

Excuse my French!!!But are you fu**in kiddin me??!!!HAHAH!!

Thanks for confirming it!!My mom had stopped by the house and I was telling her "This guy rode what was considered the best female horse from Europe and she won 2 Breeders' Cups in a row back in the 80"s.Now he just trained another female horse to win 3 Breeder's Cup races in a row".

You want to talk about irony. And awesomeness. And taking these girls to new heights!!And being all in one person??

It makes me want to curse in glee!!!This is a bad MF'er!!!And to me knowing that after the fact I think it was the best story about this BC.I hope somebody writes it.All those older guys at DRF knew Miesque,it was before my time,to connect these dots is one hell,no one hellacious story.I hope this gets recognized.

Doing well, Cincy, thank you!!!;)

Goldikova has been one true vision to watch. I love her attitude, I love her skill. Too, for as long as I live, I won't forget her groom running down that racetrack, arms in the air, wailing to her . . . . rooting her home. It was one of the finest moments I've seen in sports in my lifetime. The pure unbridled joy, he felt was awesome to behold.
