Two BC races, two van offs.

One put down already.
The curse is back.

It's got a ways to go to catch the 1990 edition at Belmont but between the Life At Ten deal and the fight yesterday and now today, it hasn't been pretty.

This sucks.
I hope the worse is over now...I think Atta Boy Roy will be OK...nothing broken. The thing with Rough Sailing was a heartbreak...
that's it now...the rest will go 100%...no more bad things.

Where did you hear nothing broken with Atta Boy Roy?

The BC coverage is getting more difficult to watch. The track superintendent is to blame for the turf accident....you can't repeatedly put water on top of a bone dry turf course without other treatment too, i.e., aeration. Rough Sailing lost his hind out right out from underneath himself on the turn because of it.
Then, to see the sprinter hobble on to the van in the next is awful. Do we hope it's only a career-ending injury (suspensory) for him, and not another obit for the day?
The PETA folks are already be marking up their next petition and we're two races into the card. Why does it always happen on a major race day with major network coverage so the audience will be completely turned off? Sheesh. :bang:

Tom, I agree. I have a bad feeling; I hope we've already seen the worst of it and no more breakdowns occur.

Races not formful. Speed horses not getting good chance at gate. Multiple physical problems show up AFTER gates are sprung. Some physical problems showing up BEFORE gates are sprung.

What gives?

all this and I'm only down a few beans.

Yea I'm turning the TV off, no stomach for racing today. Did place a bunch of bets, but don't care anymore. Will watch 11th. It's just the age, and life over before they live any.

On top of yesterdays craziness, its not putting racing's best foot forward. The fight, the Life at Ten situation, horses loaded in the wrong gates, and lots of races to go today. Best wishes to everyone the rest of the BC !!!! rbj

Holy cow....apparently Atta Boy Roy is fine. They can't find anything wrong with him. Maybe he just tied up?
Anyway, let's hope this is a sign the tide is shifting.
