Zenyatta And The Lights

I thought the Classic was going to be ran in the daytime. The frickin night lights are annoying. It's like an artificial world to some of the horses. Will Zenyatta deal with these lights okay ? We saw what happened to Life At Ten- Even Gomez when riding Life At Ten at Hollywood, said Life At Ten didn't like the lights. Well, will Zenyatta like the lights.? I don't like the damn things. For the championships ? This is lame, having the championships ran under lights ? I remember Cigar won in Dubai, under lights. I hope the same thing happens and Zenyatta wins. But, the lights, do worry me.

Horses race under lights all the time. It is hardly a big deal.

Horses ship all the time from Laurel (day racing) to Charles Town (night racing), and very, very few have any issues with night racing.

It does bother some horses.
Like most things on this forum, people like to talk in absolutes.
Is it a big deal? No, most horses get used to being under lights.
Could it be an issue? It most certainly could. I've sat on horses that freaked out, mostly at the shadows.
Would that be an issue for Zenyatta? Probably not, as she has probably worked under lights at Hollywood in the mornings during the winter.

I loved the classic being under lights. Since they ran that race so late, I wondered why not run all 14 BCup races on Saturday?
