Serious question need opinion!

Talking to a few friends last night that were @ the BC, they mentioned something thats odd about horses running the first time under the lights.I know members on this board are very knowledgable people,my question is can there be any truth to this and how can running under the lights for 1st time affect a horses running style?

Some horses just don't like it. They run many races under synthetic lights here in England (Wolverhampton, Kempton) and some horses love it, others hate it.
Why this happens, I don't know. Maybe they get nervous, lose confidence, etc.
