I can't help but wonder if this was something that was waiting to boil over for Calvin, ya know, maybe he had another incident with this rider and this just put him over the edge? Anyway, i just happened to be watching the head on of the With Anticipation stakes from Sept 3 at Saratoga, and Castellano was riding the 2 horse and Calvin was on the 3 horse. Sure enough, JJ came over at the start and basically ran Calvin out of town. Whether on purpose or by accident, it was a race where Calvin just happened to get the brunt of a Castellano 'drift'.
Could this race have had something to do with what seems like bad blood? Calvin was pretty mad, i mean, i almost think there had to be something between these two previously. Maybe this was the race.
