No, but I hit a good P3 two years ago with Goldikova, Midshipman and Donativum. Paid $152.00 for $1 and it was my main bet on the card.

I know many have reported to have bet on Arcangues.

I did by sheer chance. At Laurel Park, I had just bought 3 beers @ $3.75 each.

I looked at the tote saw the #11 @ 99/1. I asked my youngest son Justin who was holding our program who was riding that horse. Bailey !

I said no way I'm letting JB go off at that price. Had $12 in my pocket - change from the beer 20.

Bet $6 WP. Great 'cappin huh ?!?

Action This Day, 2003, $55.60, $375.00 EX.

I forget why I liked the horse, I think it was the only late speed or something.

1999 BC Juvenile: I had the Anees-Chief Seattle exacta, with WPS show bets on both horses.

My near miss was North East Bound at 43-1 in the Turf Mile in 2000. Like a fool, I didn't have War Chant in my exacta.

In 2001 I loved 2 horses;

Sakhee and Johannesburg...

I keyed the juvenile 1st and 2nd over the field for $5 each way....well I got lucky when Repent at like 40-1 finished 2nd. The exacta was over $500.

I then used Sakhee over and under the field for $5 and played a $20 exacta box of Sakhee and Tiznow who I felt was the logical winner if the invader did not fire.

Haven't been able to duplicate this type of day since but I've been close and I feel good about 2-3 horses this year.

I've posted my Friday thoughts on my site.

I am most proud of selecting Anees at 32-1 to win the Juvenile. Ran right past Forest Camp and Dixie Union.

I also had Better Talk Now at Lone Star, and the Johannesburg-Repent exacta for about $530 in the Juvenile.
Missed a HUGE score when Hawksley Hill relented to DaHoss in the Mile.

Also the 2004 Lone Star BC for me. The late Pick 4 of Quija Board, Wilko, Better Talk Now and Ghostzapper paid a whopping 23K plus! Also picked up some 5 of 6 money that day on one of our favorite topics on here...The Players' Pool

Last year's Friday Pick 4- She Be Wild, Midday, Informed Decision and Life Is Sweet paid $2100 for $1 and I had for two.

I got the money but can only take partial credit for the handicapping- Bruno's workout reports were on fire Friday.

i think this years classic exotic will be a whopper!!!! and i hope i'm all over it. there is alot of horses evenly matched in this race all with question marks. when i see a race like this i take the question mark with the biggest odds and the best chance to run a good race.

i haven't been fortunate enough to hit a big breeders cup payday, but have consistently hit some 200-500$ exotics. i have also taken a pretty good hit on occassion on cup day.

i have a peculiar experience sort of like the arcangues bet that started this thread. when internet wagering first started about 15 to 20 years ago i signed up to you bet. i can't remember if you could sign up and bet the same night or it was a few days later. anyhow it was late in the evening and the account was funded. i thought i better make a trial run so i don't screw up my bets the next day. australian racing was the only thing in town at night. so pull up these free pps and the next race is a maiden. one horse looked like he closed nicely last out and finished like 8th or something, but he was only like 1 length back. i thought a what the heck 2$ on his nose. this was before i had a good modem with a fast internet. the race starts the screen stops then flashes back on and my horse is close. flashes back again and he's surging for the wire. he got up at 100-1. boy this internet stuff is pretty good....

;)

If that non-winners of 2 lifetime beats this field, you may be the biggest winner of the year.

Best bet was Tikkanen over Hatoof in the '94 Turf. When they ran by the first time around, those two were filling out the last-place exacta, and I was ready to throw away my ticket. Also had a nice Tikkanen-Concern double. Both of them paid more than $300. Took away the sting of watch Lure run so poorly in his finale.:(

This would be a monumental exacta payout. And not a bad play at all! Just guess Zenyatta doesn't take to the dirt:)
