Harness horses at Monmouth Park?

This is another story coming out of MP, there is talk that the harness horses may end up at MP for day racing in December once the thoroughbreds are completely out. The track super is the same super that worked at Garden State Park which enjoyed both harness and t-breds so putting down a harness track at MP shouldn't be an issue. I am sure there will be a lot more information on this in the not too distant future!

I don't get this. So why does (did) it cost so much money to turn the track around and make it usable for standardbreds at the Meadowlands?

Me neither. Daytime harness racing in December? There is a clamor for that?
Monmouth is a summertime track that does not have a winterized grandstand.

Besides there is Freehold Raceway which is a half hour away.
If daytime harness racing is all the rage, why not at The Meadowlands?

The story doesn't make sense. Too many open-air spaces and the grandstand has no heaters. I don't believe it.

You really think the grandstand would be opened.
The crowd they would get for harness racing on a mid day afternoon in December could fit in the clubhouse program stand.
