In the interest of creating less threads, I will use this thread till I tire of it.
I will post my greyhounds of interest on any given day. Basically I follow two tracks, Wheeling Downs in West Va and Daytona Beach, DB FLA.

Wheeling Saturday Matinee

Race 1: Thera Of Ruckus (# 3) 9/2

Is first of litter to make it to the races. Has been schooling at Southland and has one schooling race on the WD oval. Looks quite impressive. There was another litter with the same lineage as this one. 4 made it to the races. Best of those are Pia of Ruckus 8/41 with winning twice in as many starts when first hitting the Southland oval. Paine Of Ruckus who took 5 starts to win his first. Thera is more like Pia than Paine. Looks to be odds on at post time and anything more is a gift.

Rhinos Folly (# 4) 3/1 looks to be over bet. His schooling races look great but he has two siblings hit the track prior to he. They have won only 3 times in over 30 starts. Hope the public bets this one as I can see him no better than 2nd.

Race 3: Success Express (# 3) 9/2

Raced very well last out just missing in closing up against Kelsos Red Rouge. This one has a decent record at Bluffs Run in Iowa prior to shipping here. He has two place finishes in 3 attempts so far at Wheeling. AMF Baroness (# 8) is the main threat.

Race 4: English Trent (# 8) 4/1

Round One of the Wheeling Island Invitational Stakes. English Trent is one of my top three pups presently and loves the 8 trap. He looks to be as fast as any and hopefully gets a perfect trip. Bella Udi may be the public’s choice as he has won last three in the AA class. Do believe it will come down to these two.

Race 10: Staz Allnatural (# 6) 7/2

Was top pick last out and was short. This is another division of the Wheeling Invitation Stake. This one won in his first elimination to the Panhandle Classic earlier this year so he is not new to stake competition. He has size heart and love to come from behind. This race appears to have a lot of early speed that just might set up for a closer like he.

Race 15: Kelsos Rockaway (# 6) 7/2

Da Rock is my top pup this year. It is he that turned my attention from flats and harness racing back to the greyhounds. This one scratched last out but in his first race back from the layoff, he showed early turn of foot and instead of running down the competition, he wired them. Wish I could lock in that 7/2 morning line!

Wheeling Island Saturday Evening

Race 1: Braska Ashley (# 4) 15/1

Going for the fences right out the box here. This first time starter has two siblings listed so far with only one races listed on Braska Agnes at Mobile Greyhound and that was a winner at 13.90 to 1 in Class D and not the maidens. The mom, Cherry Baby won 31 times in 104 starts. This is her third litter and she has about 6 of 13 that are racing currently at Classes A and above. Sire is Soprano Drive that won 41/69 starts and is new to the breeding shed. He sired 7 lady interests and is 1 for 1 as all the rest are just starting to make it to the races. This first time sire can make us a lot of cash if he passes on his ability. Will be watching all his offspring as they make it to the track.

Race 12: Gabe Chaturanga (# 4) 19/1

GC is a Daytona Beach shipper with 7 wins on his card. Went from the maiden class to their top classification (Class A). Has a brother who is one of my three top dogs. Gabe Hammer Curl is currently on a layoff but has made it up to AA at Wheeling. This is Class C competition and if he acts anything like his sibling, look for him to get out early and get to the front by the first turn. Could be a great night of cashing tickets if this one connects!

Race 13: Jamall (# 8) 5/1

Was top pick last week when first dropped down to Class B where he wired them. Looks to be gaining back both his speed and confidence. Looks to be back up to the AA’s in short order.

Race 15: WW’s Sugar Ray (# 6) 6/1

WW’s Sugar Ray is another top pick last out. This one won twice prior to the layoff in July. Came back and won his schooling and his first attempt at Class A competition. Now is at the top class, AA but is making his 9 lifetime start and is as fast as any. What is scary is that this one looks to improve in the next few starts!

-------------------

Daytona Sat Matinee

Race 10: Charm My Way (# 5)

Was one of four pups in the litter. She has two other starters one of which, Too Much For You won at first asking and another that took 5 starts to win. Both of those raced at Orange Park. This one has a couple half brothers that have won at first asking over the Wheeling oval. Using the breeding and the three schooling races leads me to her having a great shot at this one. Freedom Bank (# 4) looks to be main rival. The latter closed up to make it close in her first lifetime start.

Race 12: MW’s Brisco (# 7)

Is as sharp as they come in Class A at Daytona. Looks to have his way and should be no lower than 4./5 when the dust clears. Iruska Maybelle (# 4) is a shipper from Tri-State in West Va that has an excellent schooling and a win first time on the oval. Looks fast enough to be on the ticket.

Race 13 : Gabe Steamengine (# 1)

Gabe Steamengine drops down to Class D and looks to be fastest of all. His brother Gabe Hammer Curl is one of my top three pups (Kelsos Rockaway and English Trent being the other two). Can not find anything to play underneath so I might as well use the all option.

----------------------

Daytona Sat Evening

Race 1: Elysian (# 6)

She has had two schooling races and looks prime for an early score. In her lineage, I found that her mom, Tk Ashira won 32 out of 67 lifetime starts. Her first 4 races were all wins with the last being in AA class. She went on to win another two times in 4 starts facing the best on the grounds at Tri State. The sire, Fleet Alex started out at Wheeling Downs with two wins in as many starts. Lifetime he has 22 wins in 63 starts. He has proven himself with multiple winners with four other breeding mates. Do believe this combination will work out well.

Race 5: Night Inferno (# 1)

Has been racing sharp of late with his Maiden and Class D win two and three back. Last out he just came up a little short trying to run down Smoke Magic (winner of 7 this meet) who was down in class. Looking at pure times, this one stands out and do expect to be near odds on at post time.

Race 10 Flying Estero (# 4)

Has been a loser of sorts throughout her short career which was run at Naples and Flagler so I usually would of ignore this one but in two schooling races at Daytona, has shown superior speed to her usual efforts. These two wins in schooling indicate a form reversal of sorts and for that reason alone, deem her to be worthy of my support at the windows. Could garner some double-digit prices.

Race 13: Woman Hater (# 7)

Is one of the more consistent Class A types that has been winning every other start. This is his good start. Should be clear of any competition coming out of the 7-trap as those around him are void of any early speed. Looks to clear before the turn and never look back.

Friday 10.22.10 Matinee at the Island

Race 1: Misty Day Bones (# 5) 5/1 left a little weak. Was able to shake off a couple bumps early to get 3rd into the turn. Was outrun in the stretch to get 4th. Not as fast as her siblings

Is by Fuzzy Cannon out of Dark Mist Drive. If that combination sounds familiar, it should. Two siblings from this litter have won at first asking, Jivin Jiovanny and Hail Storm Bones. Looking for the streak of this early developing type continues. I am also interested in Tony Of Ruckus (# 4) 3/1 who enters his maiden trip with some nice lines in schooling races. His lineage is not as strong as the top pick in winning at first asking. I still think he has a big shot at this race.

------------------------

Race 5: Elastic Trent (# 1) 3/1 left alertly but came out to mid-track in the first turn sitting outside three other battling inside. One exciting race as this one just kept digging till she cleared late in the stretch. Paid $8.40-$3.80-$3.40

First time starter that is racing in D classification instead of the Maiden (M) class. Has two siblings racing well at Palm Beach in Custom Trent (5 wins of 15 starts) and Dynamic Trent (7 of 21), also having one racing at Wheeling in Gifted Trent (6 of 25). Gifted is currently making his 2nd time going into the AA class. Elastic Trent’s most recent schooling race indicates the speed necessary to compete successfully at this level.

---------------------

Race 9: Mac’s Wynken (# 3) 6/1 Broke badly and never could make it up. The main competitor, Bella Welch (# 2) raced extremely well and won at 3/1.

Exits Stake competition where he won the WVGBOA Juvenile Championship and is stretching out to the Keystone distance. He is racing real sharp presently and looks to upset at a decent price. His main competitor is right beside him in Bella Welch (# 2) who has a decent turn of foot. I see him racing on the lead with Mac Wynken closing up for the win.

---------------------

I have three selections from last week that I will follow up this week. One is trying the same class while two are moving up.

Race 10: Success (# 3) 3/1 finished 4th at 1.10/1* Left slow, 7th to the turn, closed inside and ran all down but the winner. Paid $7.40 place and $4.40 show.

Race 13: Mexican Trent (# 2) 4/1 closed up for the win in B class at 5.70/1 4th

Race 15: KB’s Strike Off (# 2) 8/1 wired them in A class at 7.90/1.off the board

Friday 10.22.10 RESULTS Evening at the Island

Race 1: Atasocita Zuri (# 3) 5/1 failed to break like his brother. Trailed the field throughout.

Makes first start since shipping up from Southland. This one had his brother Atasociata Zola race that he failed to break from the box here on Sunday. Have 2 full brothers from the previous litter than have acquired 17 wins or more. One to watch.

Race 2: CTW Grand Torino (# 1) 9/2 Broke fast and never looked back. He was an easy winner as chalk. Paid $5.80, $3.20, $3.00

Drops down to the B classification where he last won. Has won in AA back in May so he does have the speed to compete with these. Inside post should not hurt, as his early speed should put him in close proximity to the lead if not on it himself.

Race 8: Outer Phenomenon (# 7) 4/1 left slow and raced wide. Got as close as 3rd up the backside and tired from his efforts. Most notable was the odds board as this one went from 7/1 to the favorite at 5/2 in the last few rotations of the tote.

Takes a double drop in class to the B level. Has a brother It’s a Phenomenon at Palm Beach who has won last two and has won 7 in a row from August 12th to Sep 12 this year. Looms large with these.

Race 10: Flying Faverau (# 5) 3/1 LATE SCRATCH

2nd try at A level after one decent effort last Friday where this one came driving to just miss by a half-length. With only 8 lifetime starts, we have not seen the best out of this one. Not too sure about who to use underneath but will be looking for some speed types to be backing up so I would use the closers: Gabe Evette (# 1) and Echo On (# 2) in the exotics.

Wheeling Downs Evening Race 15 additional comment:

One slipped by the radar that came in my virtual kennel notice. Also very live in this race is the sister of Kelsos Rockaway, look to Kelsos Marigold (# 1) 7/2 off the layoff. Would have picked her first if I noticed that she was back but some reason, I went to Sugar Ray. I would use both of these on top in the exotics. I will have to live with my top selection for statistical reasons but at least you now know of a strong entrant for the win exists.

Wheeling Saturday Matinee

Race 1: Thera Of Ruckus (# 3) 9/2 left alertly, survived a bump with the #1 in the first turn with the lead. Never looked back. Impressive race. W $4.40, P $3.00 S $2.40

Race 3: Success Express (# 3) 9/2 broke 4th out the box and raced close to lead till the first turn where a moderate bump from the #1 dog threw him wide. Looked tired early.

Raced very well last out just missing in closing up against Kelsos Red Rouge. This one has a decent record at Bluffs Run in Iowa prior to shipping here. He has two place finishes in 3 attempts so far at Wheeling. AMF Baroness (# 8) is the main threat.

Race 4: English Trent (# 8) 4/1 left hard with four inside, was hung 3 to 4 wide in the turn and tired from his efforts.

Race 10: Staz Allnatural (# 6) 7/2 broke last as usual, came inside the first turn then angled out the backside and pick them up to gain the place. $4.60 P and $3.60 S.

Race 15: Kelsos Rockaway (# 6) 7/2 broke last out the box, was pushed wide in the first turn, he dug in and closed for minor award in finishing 4th. Not the usual form nor style of racing in this one. Have to question the causation of the previous race scratch.

Daytona Sat Matinee

Race 10: Charm My Way (# 5) left hard and gained early lead racing inside throughout. Had to withstand a vicious closing Freedom Bank. Charm My Way paid $3.80 W, $3.00 P and $2.10 S. The exacta with Freedom Bank returned $12.00 while the quin paid $7.00.

Race 12: MW’s Brisco (# 7) broke hard while having three others inside of him. Was two wide racing with the #1 dog in the turn and most of the backside. Finally broke away before the far turn and just pulled away. He Paid $2.80 W, $3.20 P and $2.10 S.

Race 13 : Gabe Steamengine (# 1) left hard, was bumper twice in the turn and at least one more time on the backside. Still managed to save 3rd place with a much-troubled trips. Paid $5.40 Show.

Gabe Steamengine drops down to Class D and looks to be fastest of all. His brother Gabe Hammer Curl is one of my top three pups (Kelsos Rockaway and English Trent being the other two). Can not find anything to play underneath so I might as well use the all option.

Wheeling Sunday Matinee
Race 1 TMC’s Ransom (# 1) 9/5
Lineage displays not much from this litter but the previous litter with same sire produced 8 pups that all made it to the races. The weakest link had 6 wins while all others were double digit in their career in wins. The highest had 59 wins from179 starts while the next in line had 44 wins in 158 starts. Ransom’s most recent races are sub 31:00 while most of this field except 8 do not show any. Should win as he pleases.

Race 2: RC’s Shezasmoothie (# 2) 4/1
Should some serious signs of life last out in her 2nd start back from the layoff. Has faced AA company so this Grade B should be presented an easier time. Her fasted race this year is a sub 29:60 and she appears to be near that level.

Race 3: Jivin Jiovanny (# 5) 6/1
Love the breeding and was my top pick for his only two starts. Has a brother and sister racing at Wheeling presently. Has early speed but got caught in traffic in the last race. Looks to amend that effort.

Race 5: Forcibly Near (# 5) 9/1
Got to race under my radar last out. Did not realize that he was a full brother (same litter) as Foresee (whom I love both the breeding and his races). Looks to offer some value at the window. I am only fearing (# 2) Point Guard 4/1 who has enough speed to be a hindrance in the first turn.

Race 10: Foresee (# 7) 8/1
Was my top pick last out and is making his 2nd lifetime start. Has a ton of early speed but needs to stay out of trouble to the turn. Once out of the turn, his speed should carry to the wire. Notice that his brother, Forcible Near was my top pick in the 5th. Both are racing up in class but this one is up to Grade C while the other is racing D. I do believe the kennel manager knows which one is the better of the two, don’t you?

Monday Wheeling Matinee
Race 1: Braska Audi (# 3) 3/1
A shipper up from Southland who’s breeding is basically unknown. Has a sibling that was entered on Saturday night at Wheeling named Braska Ashley. At the time of this writing, the race has not been run. You can use that race as a hint as to this one’s probability of winning. Love this one’s breeding and current form from its schooling races.

Race 5: Flying Drew Brees (# 5) 5/1
Is one of 6 in the first litter of his mother. All but one has made it to the races and all of those but this one has broken its maiden. This slow learner looks ready to graduate. Has started 4 times with 2 place and 1 show finishes for his work. Odds should merit our exposure. One sibling is at Flagler, two are at Derby Lane while the other is racing here at Wheeling, Flying Tom Brady is currently is trying his 2nd start in Grade A and has won two of his last three.

Race 7: Somerset (# 3) 3/1
Was top pick last two starts. Won 2 back and chased winner last out. Looks to be as fast as any in here and inside post helps.

Race 12: Flying Sydney (# 7) 9/2
Was racing as low as Class C when he seemed to find the key to winning again. He has won in that Class C and destroyed Class B in his win by over 7 lengths last out. Looks to improve upon that effort in this A classification. You got to strike when the iron is hot and his iron is molten steel!

Race 13: Hail Storm Bones (# 1) 7/1
Brother of Jivin Jiovanny who won similarly in their first lifetime start over this oval. Both had troubled trips in their 2nd start. Going back to the well once more. Has speed that is comparable to most of these and given the inside post, should be well suited through out the race.

Wheeling Island Saturday Evening

Race 1: Braska Ashley (# 4) 15/1 Left alertly and held the lead for most of the race. Got a little tired and bared off the rail right before the stretch which let a trailing pup (#1) up inside. Raced that one to the line after he saw him pass. Would bet heavy next out. Also makes sibling on Monday’s Matinee a must bet situation!

Finished 2nd, Paid $3.60 P and $2.60 S. Wonder who bet this one down to 7/2 at post time? LOL

Race 12: Gabe Chaturanga (# 4) 19/1 broke out the box 3rd and raced wide into the first turn. Lost too much ground early and never made it up.

Race 13: Jamall (# 8) 5/1 Was a little slot out the box but made up enough ground to have a small lead in the 1st turn but was outside the #1 dog. The extra distance racing on the outside hurt him badly. Ended up a clear 2nd and paid $7.00 to place and $3.80 to show..

Was top pick last week when first dropped down to Class B where he wired them. Looks to be gaining back both his speed and confidence. Looks to be back up to the AA’s in short order.

Race 15: WW’s Sugar Ray (# 6) 6/1 left the gate last and trailed most of the race but managed to beat a couple entrants.

Wheeling Downs Evening Race 15 additional comment:

Kelsos Marigold had the best post position (# 1) that the track has been playing the last few race cards plus enters this race with a schooling faster than she has gone all year. She toyed with them and won as she pleased. Win $5.20 Place $3.60 Show $3.40. This one does not count in my statistics for the week.

Daytona Sat Evening

Race 1: Elysian (# 6) left alertly and gained lead in short time. Once on the front, never looked back. Easy win but ended up mid-track at the wire which might mean something or not as this was its first lifetime start. Paid $9.60 W, $4.40 P and $3.20 Show.

Sorry, I gave out the wrong race but the 6 won this race above. The horse was named Kelsos Newsflash. Elysian was entered in Race 2 that was not listed. I bet the wrong race and won. Must be Kismet.

Race 5: Night Inferno (# 1) left well, sat 2nd into the turn as he was racing outside the #4 dog. He accelerated entering the final turn passing to the lead and never looked back. $4.40 W, $2.60 P and $2.80 S.

Has been racing sharp of late with his Maiden and Class D win two and three back. Last out he just came up a little short trying to run down Smoke Magic (winner of 7 this meet) who was down in class. Looking at pure times, this one stands out and do expect to be near odds on at post time.

Race 10 Flying Estero (# 4) left fast, barred to the inside rail in the turn with the lead and never looked back. It was an overlay to place. Win $6.20, Place $8.00 and $3.60 to show.

Race 13: Woman Hater (# 7) left fast out the box and assumed the lead before the first turn. Carried the lead to mid stretch where he just lost all desire. Backed up to 3rd and paid $3.60 for the show

Is one of the more consistent Class A types that has been winning every other start. This is his good start. Should be clear of any competition coming out of the 7-trap as those around him are void of any early speed. Looks to clear before the turn and never look back.

RaceTrackDaddy, have you ever attended greyhound races in the UK? I go to Romford Greyhound Stadium (just northeast of London) every time I go London. Great fun and there are only six greyhounds in each race!

Sorry to say that I have not made across the pond. In fact, there are only two greyhound tracks that I have attended in my lifetime. One that no longer exists was in Miami, named Biscayne Kennel Club, which ended in the early 90's.

The main one was a transition from harness racing to greyhound racing in 1976, that being, Wheeling Downs. Been there many times since and have seen it grow bigger and bigger due to the slots legislation. That forced the hands of Pennsylvania which is making nearly a billion a year in revenue plus the local counties and townships near the casinos.

The problem I had with Biscayne was too crowder. They would bring in over 10k for their races back in 1977 (when I last went to them). Plus, English was a foreign language back then, hate to see it now. Their puppies were better than those at Wheeling back then. Not now, seems the best purse structure is at the Island hence the handicapping is harder there than anywhere.

Wheeling Sunday Matinee

Race 1 TMC’s Ransom (# 1) 9/5 got away clean and was 4th into the turn but hugged the rail closing up to 2nd as they left the turn for the backside. Raced 2nd till the last turn and came inside to pull away. Paid $3.40, $2.40 and $2.40

Race 2: RC’s Shezasmoothie (# 2) 4/1 got away third in the two path, was bumper hard by the #1 pup and went off-stride to the outside. Came back on to garner 4th. Interesting race in that heart was shown when faced with adversity. Would have no problem betting next out.

Should some serious signs of life last out in her 2nd start back from the layoff. Has faced AA company so this Grade B should be presented an easier time. Her fasted race this year is a sub 29:60 and she appears to be near that level.

Race 3: Jivin Jiovanny (# 5) 6/1 left clean and was running but seemed to be going no where, as it was racing on ice. Went from 3rd out the box to last in the first turn and was no factor there on.

Love the breeding and was my top pick for his only two starts. Has a brother and sister racing at Wheeling presently. Has early speed but got caught in traffic in the last race. Looks to amend that effort.

Race 5: Forcibly Near (# 5) 9/1 broke last and trailed throughout the race. Did change from mid-track to the inside in the last turn but was outrun.

Got to race under my radar last out. Did not realize that he was a full brother (same litter) as Foresee (whom I love both the breeding and his races). Looks to offer some value at the window. I am only fearing (# 2) Point Guard 4/1 who has enough speed to be a hindrance in the first turn.

Race 10: Foresee (# 7) 8/1 similar to his brother in the 5th, broke badly. Raced from last into the turn and passed a couple slower ones on the backside to gain 5th. Should have gone with last Sunday’s pick in Atascocita Zola, especially this time on the class drop. Hindsight is 20/20.

Daytona Afternoon Monday

There is only one puppy of interest on both cards of 8 races today.

Race 1: Cleo N Joy (# 8)

Many in this maiden race come from weak genetic lines but one line is sending in two of the same litter. I will support the stronger of the two. Look to Cleo N Joy (# 8) to break quick and gain the lead in short order. If those two schooling races are any indication of her ability, she is going to be a very fast greyhound. Might as well use her sister (# 3) Cleo N Holly who are owned and raced by the same connection. In most races, they would of raced as an entry but not so in greyhounds.

Daytona Twilight Monday

Race 6: Naughty N Nice (# 3)

Has done nothing wrong in her short career. Winner of her two schooling and her first two lifetime starts making the competition look like they were running in deep sand. She is well bred and though moving up in class looks to be able to meet the challenge. Main competitors will be last week’s top pick in (# 4) Docket Call who has taken to this oval like he owns it. The other one to watch is (# 1) Iruska Amber who is making another attempt at Grade C level. Does not look as fast as the other two but with the rail, can get a trip to make it interesting.

Have only one race left on the day, Race 6 at Daytona on their Twilight card for today. # 3 Naughty N Nice has been nothing but perfect since hitting the Daytona oval.

Monday Wheeling Matinee Results

Race 1: Braska Audi (# 3) 3/1 like her sister, this one left alertly to gain the early lead. Unlike her sister she carried her speed all the way and won in a easy trip. This line of greyhound may be something to watch. She paid $5.60 to Win, $3.40 to Place and $3.20 to Show.

Race 5: Flying Drew Brees (# 5) 5/1 Broke mid pack and raced wide with a bump in the 1st turn, could not make up any ground on the backside. Off the board finish.

Race 7: Somerset (# 3) 3/1 was quick out the box and raced 2nd inside the 1st turn, followed the front runner and pulled along side top of the stretch where they match strides to the wire. He won in a photo, paid $7.40 to Win, $5.00 to Place and $2.80 to Show.

Was top pick last two starts. Won 2 back and chased winner last out. Looks to be as fast as any in here and inside post helps.

Race 12: Flying Sydney (# 7) 9/2 left quick out the box but was 4 wide into the turn with a little bumping but managed to gain the 2nd spot up the backside despite the trouble. Tried to hug the rail in the last turn (positive move) but was out run to the wire. Finished 3rd and paid $3.00 to Show.

Was racing as low as Class C when he seemed to find the key to winning again. He has won in that Class C and destroyed Class B in his win by over 7 lengths last out. Looks to improve upon that effort in this A classification. You got to strike when the iron is hot and his iron is molten steel!

Race 14: Hail Storm Bones (# 1) 7/1 has started twice from Trap 1 (post) and has two convincing victories. This one assumed the lead in about 5 strides and never looked back. He was bet a lot heavier than his 7/1 morning line would indicate. He paid $7.40 to Win, $2.80 to Place and $2.40 to Show/

Brother of Jivin Jiovanny who won similarly in their first lifetime start over this oval. Both had troubled trips in their 2nd start. Going back to the well once more. Has speed that is comparable to most of these and given the inside post, should be well suited through out the race.

Daytona Afternoon Monday

There is only one puppy of interest on both cards of 8 races today.

Race 1: Cleo N Joy (# 8) Broke fast and gained the early lead and hit the 1st turn heading into the rail saving ground and just pulled away from the field. This one’s sibling left also and was racing 2nd most of the race till the final turn where she tired a little and finished 3rd. Paid $3.60 to Win, $2.10 to Place and $2.20 to Show.

Ended up 4 winner out of 8 selections today.
Tuesday will be dark for me...be back Wednesday unless something pops up in my greyhound kennel at another track tomorrow..

Daytona Twilight Monday

Race 6: Naughty N Nice (# 3) Not a good race for her today. She left fast enough but met some tough speedsters who bumped her from the left and right going into the turn throwing her off course. She never recovered. Docket Call managed to gain the place paying $19.80 and $5.60 to show while the #1 was the one who bumped Naughty first thus hurting that one’s chances.

Wednesday Matinee Greyhounds of Interest

Wheeling Downs

Race 1: RC Razzle Dazzle (# 4) 3/1

Is making his 2nd lifetime start in class from D sandwich around a very fast schooling race in 29.81. Siblings have a tendency to win in their 2nd or 3rd lifetime start. This one looks to run away and hide. In exotics, one must use CTW Opa Walter (# 5) 7/2 was top pick last out who broke its maiden. Looks to be right in the mix till the end.

Race 4: Kelsos Rockaway (# 7) 5/1

Da’ Rock’s 2nd try in Stake Action. Hope to makes amends for last effort. Looks as fast as any entered. He has won 15 times this year from 25 starts.

Race 8: KB’s Ruckus (# 5) 6/1

Is one fast competitor that has won in stake competition earlier this year in the Panhandle Stake. He in fact won it all back in June to be named the Panhandle Champ. There is only one entered that I fear and that is Kelsos Jam Jar (# 5/2) who is racing at top of his game and got beat by a strong one in Gable Eddie.

Race 12: Gable Eddie (# 2) 3/1

Presently racing faster than all others at this oval. Inside, outside or rail does not matter. This is one talented greyhound that looks to sweep this $100k Invitational Stake at Wheeling. Bet him till he loses. I like Flying Maroon (# 4) and CTW Speedy Trent (# 8) underneath in the exotics.

Daytona Beach

Race 2: Freedom Bank (# 1)

Ran into a buzz-saw last start in Charm My Way who happened to be my top pick. This one was game as he powered his way through traffic to be a fast closing to the wire. Looks to sprint away against these.

One interesting first time starter is Belgravia (# 8). Has decent works in her three schooling races. This litter has two siblings that hit the track this year. Seeking Beauty who has won last two races at Orange Park. Racing there as well is Sinclair who has one win in 4 starts. This one may not be ready for the win this day but might surprise at few with her effort that just may bring a price.

Race 13: Kelsos Japoly (# 8)

Ships over from Jacksonville’s Orange Park and has two excellent schooling races over this oval. Main rivals are Rum Speed Queen (# 4) and Flying Day (# 6).

Orange Park

Race 3: GS Leanne (# 4) 4/1

Had a hard time finding something to like in this maiden race and came across one the may be under the radar. This lineage is rather short as only one other sibling is listed presently and do believe there are other pups from this litter that may appear. She has improved her final position each of the last weeks. She was 5th three back, 4th two back and caught 3rd last out. Earlier this week, GS Dex, her brother won in striking fashion on the engine. Do believe given the entrants and her improvement sets her up well for this encounter.

Race 5: GS Noah (# 16/1)

Might be one of those under the radar types. Enters here with two place finishes in her schooling races. One fact that I uncovered is that she has 6 siblings who are racing. 5 of them have broken their maidens at first asking and all have started racing this month at this track. Winning odds have been 1.30 / 3.80 /1.00 /6.00 / 7.90

From the same kennel (and with less information listed) is GS Gucci (# 6) 16/1 who exits a fast schooling race. This one has no listed siblings but Nicole’s Andrea (the mom) has produced some double-digit performers from other sires. If these two connect in the exacta, look out. You may have to sign for the winnings.

Race 12: Seeyawheniseeya (# 6) 6/1

Loves to race on the engine. Has won two of three lifetime starts. The only bad race was two back when he had some trouble closing but was in a show photo. If this one gets the lead, he will never look back. Has siblings that race similarly and all have no more than 3 races presently. This litter may be one to watch.

Southland

Race 3: KL’s Ryan (# 4) 7/2

Makes career debut with two superior schooling races. Little information available in database but did have one other litter listed from 200. That litter produced three pups that made it to the track. Two of those made it to the Open level. The track handicapper knows that this one is live.

Race 5: Radio Spirit (# 6) 7/2

This one is totally under my radar. He has two fast schooling races and a first time winner in his maiden start. His times are faster than most if not all of these even though he is up in class. Wish the database included something from the dam later than 2004 but in those litters and prior, she did produce many multiple winners.

Race 6: Toby Jugs (# 4) 7/2

Wheeling shipper that looks fast enough to be competitive and since he his off the rail, should have a cleaner trip than his last two over this oval. Sibling, Sip and Spin, didwon recently at the Island.

Daytona Beach

Race 1: AMF Panther (# 3)

Nothing listed in the database on this litter (even though it was in 2008) but there was a earlier litter with the same sire that produced 5 offspring of which 2 won over 10 races life and one not making it to the track. Seems they are later bloomers (at least in the 2006 litter). They were competitive as they finished 2nd or 3rd in their career starts. This one exits two superior schooling races and has only one to fear in (# 8) Kebo Kaynon. The latter won last out in one grade below this D level. Has enough speed to contend through out.

(A sibling is making a start in race 8 on this card. If this one does well, look to (# 7) AMF Gopher. Might be an interesting night after all.)

Race 6: Got The Power (# 3)

Like the class drop and even those races in A class were not that bad. Has the best speed entered but needs to get out the box early. Seems he is slow on outside posts and now inside he has shown an affinity to leave early. Might be 4/1 at post time if we are lucky.

Race 15 MW’s Brico (# 5)

Is probably the best on the grounds at this juncture. Looks to be odds on and racing on the front end again. Going for his 5th in row and 11th win from 26 starts.

---------------------

Orange Park

Race 2: Kiowa Jill Vik (# 4) 9/2

Is one that is bred for early speed and early wins. Is the first of its litter to win multiple races. Others have won one in three races max. Wins in M and D were simply overpowering. He will have a tougher time but should prevail.

Race 12: TMC Best Of Show (# 7) 9/2

It is more of a hunch or feeling in picking this one. Seems this one has raced over 100 starts this year. Has finished 2nd last two starts after the drop into class B. Do believe the race shapes up nicely for this one to win it all.

Race 14: BH’s Simplyclass (# 4) 7/2

Historically speaking, the last time he dropped to this level, he won in 38:04 that would crush these. Has raced in the 37:80s not too long ago. Love the class drop and post position.

Buddy:
Dazzling Jewel (# 8) in the 6th tonight at Daytona is one tough customer. I went to 2009 when he last had a streak broken like it was here early this month. He took about 6 or 7 races and a trip to Flagler to get back on the winning side of things.

If he races back to those efforts earlier this month, he will run them down. The problem I see is that he is starting to back up late in his trips so I would think he was a tired puppy. The drop in class should help alot but it seems Trap 8 at Daytona is a lot tougher than other tracks.

The one I came across was Got The Power (#3). In his last race he every reason to give up given his trip but he over came. I think he is best suited to pick them tonight. Of course I have been wrong many times before but that is how I see it..

Wheeling Friday Matinee

Race 1: WW’s Cowboys (# 2) 5/2

Has run two superior schooling races. Only one other of his siblings has won at first asking. He may be the best of the litter. Competition seems to be void of any appreciable early speed that should set this one up nicely.

Race 2: Kiowa Pellaspicey (# 2) 4/1

This one needs inside position to use his closing speed to best advantage. It is also possible of his gaining the lead in the 1st turn giving the makeup of this field. Has finished 2nd his last two. Photo displayed a head and a neck in distance. Should get up this time.

Race 5: WW’s Ratchet (# 4) 3/1

Is primed to repeat. In his 3rd lifetime start, he meets a field void of early foot types and should get the to top without much trouble. In looking at the others for the under part of the exotics, I was drawn to AF Zope (# 6) 7/1, who has some decent stalking speed. Another one that can close and is racing from a decent trap (box) position is GLS Rocket (# 8) 14/1. This one ships in from Tri-State (WVa’s other greyhound track) with one nice schooling race over the oval.

Race 10: KT Bailey (# 8) 5/1

Before his last two starts (which were wins) this one was on the downside of the progression curve. He has raced in AA before and with his wins in both C and B is very live at running through this field on his way back to AA’s. Going back to last year, this one actually won a couple stake races at Bluffs Run Greyhound in Iowa. A lot of back class and like all forms of racing, class comes out in the lane.

Hope to have a few more for Friday Evening. Could be at Wheeling, Orange Park, Southland or Daytona Beach. Happy Punting!

Derby Lane

Race 2: Speedy Sprocket (# 6)

Is one of those in my stable kennel from a first time sire (Soprano Drive) that have just started hitting the tracks. The sire has had three of them making their initial start. Braska Agnes and Braska Audi both won at first asking while Braska Ashley tired and finished 2nd in her first lifetime start. These 1st crop are ones to be respect regardless of the schooling races.

Wheeling Downs

Race 1: WW Kay Sis Sis (# 6) 15/1

I love four puppies in this race based on breeding alone but I am taking a shot in the dark with WW Kay Sis Sis who is making the first start of any in her litter out of a mom whose first litter has now made it to the track. Love the sire and the mom did win 24 starts out of 98 lifetime wins. Her racing career ended in 2008. The others of interest are the sibling of repeat winner Hail Storm Bones and winner of 1 of 2 races, Jivin Jiovany. Misty Day Bones raced well first time out but I did see that he was not as fast as his brothers at this time or else I would of used him on top. Two others are Kiowa Vancleave (# 2) based on recent schooling and one maiden race. His bloodline is weaker than the others. Tony Of Ruckus (# 5) is one that has superior schooling races but had traffic problems in his start last out.

Race 9: TMB My Diogi (# 8) 9/5

This one is 5 for 5 on hitting the board. Has two siblings at Tri State racing currently. RCK Medusa has 3 wins and a 2nd in 4 starts while RCK Titan has won 2 races and finished 3rd once in 3 starts. Based on those stats alone makes this one a Must Use on all exotics. A sub 30:00 time is very possible.

Race 11: Kelsos Nashville (# 6) 9/1

Full brother of Kelsos Rockaway returns to the track following a layoff since late June. Historically speaking, these connections rarely race them back in shape; but rather have them physically fit at first asking following a layoff. He should be under the public’s radar and our best chance a huge score.

Race 15: Kelsos Marigold (# 4) 2/1

A full sister to Kelsos Rockaway and Kelsos Nashville who got out the box and never looked behind her in setting her personal best 29:52 in last week’s win. Looms large over these in tonight’s finale.

Southland

Race 5: BF Flying Stan (# 1) 3/1

Simply one fast puppy that loves inside postposition. Looks to break fast and never look back.

Race 7: Fraulein Becky (# 5) 4/1

Blessed with staking speed and is facing some early speed types that should give her a chance to pick up the pieces when the front runners tire from their efforts. Has raced only twice lifetime (a win and 2nd place). She is a strong contender for the win.

Daytona Beach

Race 1: Charm My Way (# 5)

Moves up after big win last out as top pick and is still the fastest puppy entered tonight. The only question is the final time and margin of victory. Underneath in the exotics I am drawn to M’s Free Lady (# 1) and Miss Pink (# 6) who have enough box presence to be in the hunt behind a runaway winner.

Race 6: Flying Estero (# 3)

Is another of those top picks last week that won easy and is meeting a similar albeit a higher class of greyhound. Looks to break out on top and wire them. One other pup interests me. Midnight Blaze (# 5) is on the drop down and has enough speed to make this ticket.

Orange Park

Race 1: GS Dex (# 6)

Love the breeding on both sides of this lineage equation. Blew out the competition in his first attempt. You got to strike while the iron is hot. This field is void of any appreciable early speed so expect odds on at post time.

Race 10: Raiders Bart (# 3) 2/1

Had a troubled line last out but races prior, including the one wire to wire race from this same trap (post position) sets this one up nicely. The only other early speed types drew outside so this one should inherit the inside route to the wire.

Friday Evening Greyhounds - Southland, Orange Park and Daytona
Saturday Evening Wheeling Downs

Southland

Race 5: BF Flying Stan (# 1) 3/1
Simply one fast puppy that loves inside postposition. Looks to break fast and never look back.

Race 7: Fraulein Becky (# 5) 4/1

Wheeling Downs Staturday Evening Oct 30th

Here is Wheeling Friday Evening Oct 29th

Had a hard time finding the following races. Here goes.

Wheeling Downs Firday Evening

Race 3:Super Great (# 6) 3/1

Made it back to the races after a layoff since early May. Super Great returns to the track with two decent schooling races. Has been as high as Class A here and no lower than this class C. If improvement continues this race over the last two, a sub 30:00 is possible.

Race 4: Kelsos Conan (# 6) 4/1

Has gone from breaking his maiden to the top AA level and then tailed off. Last start this one simply overwhelmed his competitors in Class B. In the process, he set a new lifetime mark of 29:58, which if repeated, moves him back up to the top level. Another greyhound of interest is Jamall (# 3) who was my top pick the last two outings. He has early speed and should carry it to the line.

Race 9: Elastic Trent (# 3) 7/1

Moves up after winning at first asking as my top pick last week. Most of his siblings have won or placed in their 2nd start so I going to the well one more time. He does not look as fast as the others but he ran down the front end in his maiden voyage. The faster the front end types go will determine how fast he has to go to pass them up. Will be overlooked by the public.

Wheeling Friday Matinee RESULTS

Race 1: WW’s Cowboys (# 2) 5/2 1st, $3.20, $2.60, $2.20

Has run two superior schooling races. Only one other of his siblings has won at first asking. He may be the best of the litter. Competition seems to be void of any appreciable early speed that should set this one up nicely.

Race 2: Kiowa Pellaspicey (# 2) 4/1 Raced inside but was empty when hit the lane.

This one needs inside position to use his closing speed to best advantage. It is also possible of his gaining the lead in the 1st turn giving the makeup of this field. Has finished 2nd his last two. Photo displayed a head and a neck in distance. Should get up this time.

Race 5: WW’s Ratchet (# 4) 3/1 3rd $4.20 to show

Is primed to repeat. In his 3rd lifetime start, he meets a field void of early foot types and should get the to top without much trouble. In looking at the others for the under part of the exotics, I was drawn to AF Zope (# 6) 7/1, (4th) who has some decent stalking speed. Another one that can close and is racing from a decent trap (box) position is GLS Rocket (# 8) 14/1 (2nd, $4.60 place, $3.20 show). This one ships in from Tri-State (WVa’s other greyhound track) with one nice schooling race over the oval.

Race 10: KT Bailey (# 8) 5/1 1st, $28.80 to win, $11.40 to place and $6.20 to show

Friday Evening Greyhounds

Wheeling Downs Evening

Race 3:Super Great (# 6) 3/1 left hard, wired. $7.40 to win, $4.20 to place and $2.60 to show.

Made it back to the races after a layoff since early May. Super Great returns to the track with two decent schooling races. Has been as high as Class A here and no lower than this class C. If improvement continues this race over the last two, a sub 30:00 is possible.

Race 4: Kelsos Conan (# 6) 4/1 broke bad, closed with the backfield to finish 5th or 6th.

Race 9: Elastic Trent (# 3) 7/1 broke slow, raced wide, ended up 6th

Moves up after winning at first asking as my top pick last week. Most of his siblings have won or placed in their 2nd start so I going to the well one more time. He does not look as fast as the others but he ran down the front end in his maiden voyage. The faster the front end types go will determine how fast he has to go to pass them up. Will be overlooked by the public.

Derby Lane

Race 2: Speedy Sprocket (# 6) left a little slow but used speed to get lead before the 1st turn. Led to almost the far turn where he was passed but kept to his task to garner the show that paid $9.60. Another on the board finish for the 4th offspring to hit the track for this sire from 4 starters. Yes, I am going to like this lineage until the public catches on.

Southland

Race 5: BF Flying Stan (# 1) 3/1 broke 2nd, bumped in 1st turn, recovered to 3rd out of the turn and held sway. Paid $2.40 show.

Simply one fast puppy that loves inside postposition. Looks to break fast and never look back.

Race 7: Fraulein Becky (# 5) 4/1 Broke bad, trailed field by 6 lengths to the nearest puppy into the turn. Turned on the jets and raced inside and between the contenders to close to within one length of the winner at the wire. One incredible effort by a youngster. Must bet this one back. Paid $4.40 Place and $4.20 Show.

Blessed with staking speed and is facing some early speed types that should give her a chance to pick up the pieces when the front runners tire from their efforts. Has raced only twice lifetime (a win and 2nd place). She is a strong contender for the win.

Daytona Beach

Race 1: Charm My Way (# 5) broke a little slow, bumped 1st turn and was out of it.

Race 6: Flying Estero (# 3) broke slow but raced inside and benefited by a group bump into the 1st turn. Closed up for 2nd, matched strides with winner but could not get by. Paid $4.60 Place and $3.00 Show.

Is another of those top picks last week that won easy and is meeting a similar albeit a higher class of greyhound. Looks to break out on top and wire them. One other pup interests me. Midnight Blaze (# 5) is on the drop down and has enough speed to make this ticket.

Orange Park

Race 1: GS Dex (# 6) Troubled leaving, regained stride, closed inside in the turn, ran down all but the winner as he was still closing when he ran out of racetrack. Will be betting back on this one. He finished 2nd, Paid $2.20 Place, $2.60 Show.

Love the breeding on both sides of this lineage equation. Blew out the competition in his first attempt. You got to strike while the iron is hot. This field is void of any appreciable early speed so expect odds on at post time.

Race 10: Raiders Bart (# 3) 2/1 Paid $6.40, $3.20 and $3.40.

Had a troubled line last out but races prior, including the one wire to wire race from this same trap (post position) sets this one up nicely. The only other early speed types drew outside so this one should inherit the inside route to the wire.

Saturday Afternoon Oct 30th

Wheeling Afternoon

Race 5: Thera Of Ruckus (# 6) 3/1

Was top pick last out and did not disappoint. Going back to the well as this one left alertly last week, survived a bump in the turn to win impressively.

Race 14: WW’s Hershey (# 6) 5/1

Lightly raced with some decent efforts. Meets Class B for his second try. His competition is not as strong as a usual B class save the (# 8) dog, Appealing Okie. The latte has raced against much better but has been on a downward run and I feel he might be beatable at a nice price. I would still back up your bets with a few exotics with the #8 on top if WW’s Hershey fails to fire.

Daytona Beach

Race 5: Docket Call (# 3)

Was top pick last two times with a win and a 2nd. He meets a field where his speed is top dog. He loves to race to the inside so he should be able to get through the 1st turn with little trouble.

Race 7: Naughty N Nice (# 1)

Is another one that I will be going with for the third time. She is one fast pup but last out got her bumped hard into the turn. Those around her do not posses early speed as she. She should be able to reach the turn 1st or a close 2nd with inside position. Odds-on at post time is expected.

Race 12: MW’s Kevin (# 1)

Raced aggressive in his last start in his win in this top class. Those others near him do not break well out of the box. He will be out and running early and should be clear enough to be in contention (if not on top) when they reach the turn. He appears to be the fastest and with a clean trip expected, he may be odds -n. Watch the board for any holes in the exotics.

Race 13: Cleo N Joy (# 1)

Returns after her maiden win in which she left hard, hugged the rail and pulled away from the field. Connections had her sibling entered against her. She too raced well in hitting the board 3rd. early speed and trap #1 should seal the deal when looking at the others entered. Saturday is looking like chalk all day long.

Southland

Race 7: Villain Drive (# 2) 7/1

It is more for informational purposes other than expecting to win in this race that I went with Villain Drive. Her mom, ‘Eleven” gave birth to 12 pups in this litter. They only have sent three to the races and none have won yet. Something inside me is that this one is going to go against the grain and amount to something. Will be at double-digit odds and hope we connect.

Race 16: HKS Moose (# 1) 4/1

Has won three in a row on the way up the class ladder to Class A. This is a shorter race comparable to a 4f race in flats or a 5/8 mile dash in harness. My belief is that the shorter the race, the less the difference in endurance. Cheap animals with speed are in lower conditioned based on their backing up late. I feel this field is well within this one’s ability to win in his first attempt at this level.

Race 17: Beckspur (# 3) 9/1

Class C race and this one is the only entrant able to race at the AA level. His times are as fast as any and he seems to know how to race by saving ground in races he had trouble out the box. On other times, he holds his speed on the engine. Two back he faltered in his attempt to wire the field.

Orange Park

Race 11: OSS Fine Touch (# 1) 3/1

Has put in some tough trips this season to get to his 30 wins out of 83 starts. Has been nothing but a monster in his three races since he returned from a short hiatus. His forte is early speed and endurance when healthy. He is healthy.

Race 15: Sugar Time (# 6) 17/1

If you have been following me, you would know by now that I use lineage as a major factor in determining my selections. This one is 3 out of 4 lifetime at this track. His sibling, Seeyouwheniseeyou also is 3 wins of 4 starts. He too is 3 out of 4. His last win was at 5/1. Think they both can be live as they climb up the ladder.

Race 15: Kelsos Marigold (# 4) 2/1

A full sister to Kelsos Rockaway and Kelsos Nashville who got out the box and never looked behind her in setting her personal best 29:52 in last week’s win. Looms large over these in tonight’s finale.

Southland

Race 3: Bella Mayah (# 7) 3/1

Not much available of siblings as all have not yet made it to the track. Previous litter was by another sire. That litter had only three make to the track but of those three, two were multiple winners and one was in his 2nd start. Selection is made mostly on the composition of this field and two excellent schooling races. Would think she might garner 5/2 at best. She appears ready and has shown a wire to wire schooling win and a stalking/closing win pulling away. Ability and knowledge is in her corner.

Race 5: BC Sweet Bell (# 6) 3/1

Stake competition is always a risky wager but this one is on a roll. Seems to be in top form and those next to him have little gate presence. She has won from inside, outside and middle so postposition should pose little problem. Would not bet if less than 8/5.

Race 6: Bella Scooter (# 4) 3/1

Makes first career start after two decent closing efforts. Seems to be able to stay out of trouble and use best kick late. Speed in here is not as fast as she has gone in those schooling races. Looks to be near even money at post time.

Race 8: Trougelz (# 1) 3/1

Stake action resumes this race with one that has shown nothing short of spectacular in his efforts. No matter how he breaks out the box, he gains the lead and never looks back. Currently on a 8 race win streak. There is only one other than can follow in his wake and not get too tired. Use (# 5) CT Buck Wild for the under card key to your exotics. I could not make this one 3/1 but rather even money favorite.

Race 11: Alarm Tar Heels (# 8) 2/1

Stake action continues as this one has won in the fastest time at this distance in under 37:00 flat, fastest in here in recent starts. That too was from trap 8. There is only one other speedster that can match this one if on top of his game. That is (# 2) PA’s Baylor who came late to gain the place last start against the top pick. Déjà vu’ all over again!

Race 13: TB’s Final Stand (# 3) 2/1

Has taken on better fields each of the last three weeks on his way to not only climbing the class ladder; but, destroying the fields in his process. At Class A I usually get gun shy. This one is just getting faster with each start. He should have little problem with this class.

Orange Park

Nothing hits me worth playing.

Daytona Beach

Race 2: Freedom Bank (# 1)

Had road trouble most recent race. Two back, came strong against my top pick. Looks to break the maiden ranks at low odds tonight.

Race 6: Continental Kid (# 6)

Has been on my radar since I started this venture on Pace Advantage. Has raced well as he faced tougher foes and now meets a stiff test tonight against in the B class. His early speed can be matched by others, but he seems to be able to guide himself to the rail when troubled thus saving ground. It is risky bet, but I think he may go off at 4/1 or at least that is my desire.

Not as good as envisioned but we still have tonight. Hit three of eleven for $18 on $22 wagered. Better things are planned for tonight.

Saturday Afternoon Oct 30th

Wheeling Afternoon

Race 5: Thera Of Ruckus (# 6) 3/1 Broke fast and never looked back. Paid $4.20, $3.00 and $2.60

Was top pick last out and did not disappoint. Going back to the well as this one left alertly last week, survived a bump in the turn to win impressively.

Race 14: WW’s Hershey (# 6) 5/1 out, did not break as well as needed, bumped before the turn, in the turn and on the back side.

Lightly raced with some decent efforts. Meets Class B for his second try. His competition is not as strong as a usual B class save the (# 8) dog, Appealing Okie. The latter has raced against much better but has been on a downward run and I feel he might be beatable at a nice price. I would still back up your bets with a few exotics with the #8 on top if WW’s Hershey fails to fire.

Daytona Beach

Race 5: Docket Call (# 3) Out, broke slow and did not have any heart.

Was top pick last two times with a win and a 2nd. He meets a field where his speed is top dog. He loves to race to the inside so he should be able to get through the 1st turn with little trouble.

Race 7: Naughty N Nice (# 1) out, broke out first, bumped early as she appears to be sore, went wide into the turn and never recovered. Will wait until she is over this problem. Went off at 3/5 or there abouts.

Is another one that I will be going with for the third time. She is one fast pup but last out got her bumped hard into the turn. Those around her do not posses early speed as she. She should be able to reach the turn 1st or a close 2nd with inside position. Odds-on at post time is expected.

Race 12: MW’s Kevin (# 1) box to wire winner as heavy favorite. Paid $2.80, $2.20 and $2.20

Race 13: Cleo N Joy (# 1) broke well but did not seem interested in running today. Off the ticket.

Returns after her maiden win in which she left hard, hugged the rail and pulled away from the field. Connections had her sibling entered against her. She too raced well in hitting the board 3rd. early speed and trap #1 should seal the deal when looking at the others entered. Saturday is looking like chalk all day long.

Southland

Race 7: Villain Drive (# 2) 7/1 Out, broke last, raced inside most of the trip and passed a couple in the latter stages of the race.

Race 16: HKS Moose (# 1) 4/1 broke slower than usual, tried to close up but only managed to gain the place. Margin of loss was about half length. Paid $3.40 place and $2.20 to show.

Race 17: Beckspur (# 3) 9/1 just a shadow of his old self. Broke 3rd, raced inside to the turn then barred out backstretch to be passed up but survived a battle for 4th.

Class C race and this one is the only entrant able to race at the AA level. His times are as fast as any and he seems to know how to race by saving ground in races he had trouble out the box. On other times, he holds his speed on the engine. Two back he faltered in his attempt to wire the field.

Orange Park

Race 11: OSS Fine Touch (# 1) 3/1 off the board, broke ok, just did not have it.

Has put in some tough trips this season to get to his 30 wins out of 83 starts. Has been nothing but a monster in his three races since he returned from a short hiatus. His forte is early speed and endurance when healthy. He is healthy.

Race 15: Sugar Time (# 6) 17/1 broke clear, gained the lead early, steered to the rail, remaining inside on her drive to the wire. Margin of victory was 1½ lengths. Was bet down to 3/1 with 1 minute to post, climbed up a little to 9/2 at post. Paid $11.00. $4.60, $4.40.

If you have been following me, you would know by now that I use lineage as a major factor in determining my selections. This one is 3 out of 4 lifetime at this track. Her sibling, Seeyouwheniseeyou, has 3 wins of 4 starts too. His most recent start (and win) was at 5/1. Think they both can be live as they climb up the ladder.

Wheeling Downs

Race 8: Foresee (# 1) 5/2

Bad start in most recent race but recovered enough to give credence to his speed. Has his favorite trap (post position) and should contend for the lead early. A clean trip to the front will give him the race.

Race 16: Hail Storm Bones (# 8) 4/1

Brother of Jivin Jiovanny and Misty Storm Bones who are currently racing well. This one appears to be the best of the crop so far. Outside trap should keep this one out of harm’s way. Has the speed to compete with all these.

Race 17: Kelsos Rockaway (# 6) 4/1

Started racing this year in April. Once he reached the AA level, he never dropped out of it. Today, if he does not hit the board, will be forced to race in the Class A level next out. I cannot see my favorite puppy doing that. I would expect him to go off the favorite.

Race 7: Potrs Homerun (# 2) 7/2

PH returns following a nearly 3-month layoff with two fast schooling races. She is also on the class drop. She is a strong contender for the win.

Race 14: Pat C Shady Boy (# 1) 9/2

Meets a tough field but gets trap box where he loves it best. Main rivals will have break clean and run him down if they expect to win. Will be on the lead early and often.

Orange Park

Race 3: AJ’s Cookie Time (# 7) 6/1

First time started with two excellent schooling races over this course. Speed looks to be enough to handle these maidens. WW Thunder Cats (# 1) seems to be the best suited to benefit in the battle to the first turn. I would like to watch the odds board in relation to the ex & quin probable’s to see if there is an overlay with these two. High probability for their hitting the line together.

Race 5: RCK Atomic Dog (# 7) 3/1

Shipper from West Virginia’s other greyhound track in Tri-State. Has one schooling race over the oval and looks to wire them at first asking.

Race 7: WW’s Gucci (# 6) 5/2

WW G has been learning his trade the hard way, that is bumping his way and he now seems to know how to race. When one adds inherited speed with knowledge, one gets a game performer. This one is winner of two in a row and is destined for the A class in short order.

Race 14: Miami On Fire (# 3) 3/1

Has improved with each successive start. I love betting these types on the class jump as they rarely get pounded hard on the way up. Looks faster than all these and with trap 3, should gain a quick lead and run away with this.

Race 15: Seeking Beauty (# 2) 2/1

SB is winner of three in a row, starting at M, D and C. Now meets B class and this one’s speed is superior in this field. All this one does is get a quick lead and open up on his contestants. Once he hits the lead, head to the window!

Not exactly what I imagined going into tonight. It is more like what I feared. Let us hope tomorrow’s pups race large!

Wheeling Downs

Race 1: WW Kay Sis Sis (# 6) 15/1 broke mid pack, raced mid pack with some bumping. All in all not what I expected. 3rd pick, Kiowa Vancleave won with Misty Storm Bones (2nd pick) connected for a $3 Ex worth 69.60.

Race 9: TMB My Diogi (# 8) 9/5 broke slow, in fact last, used rail trip to gain a ton of ground with the pin ball action in the first turn. Tried to run down run away leader and ended up 2nd, short less than a length. Add to virtual kennel. Paid $3.80 Place, $2.20 Show.

Race 11: Kelsos Nashville (# 6) 9/1 broke slow, raced wide. Was short. Off the board.

Full brother of Kelsos Rockaway returns to the track following a layoff since late June. Historically speaking, these connections rarely race them back in shape; but rather have them physically fit at first asking following a layoff. He should be under the public’s radar and our best chance a huge score.

Race 15: Kelsos Marigold (# 4) 2/1 broke slower than last week, was 3rd into the turn, went wide up the backside and could only get a 2nd at best. Paid $2.80 Place and $2.40 to Show.

A full sister to Kelsos Rockaway and Kelsos Nashville who got out the box and never looked behind her in setting her personal best 29:52 in last week’s win. Looms large over these in tonight’s finale.

Southland

Race 3: Bella Mayah (# 7) 3/1 broke awkward, accelerated to garnered 4th through rival hitting the first turn. Forced wide and was the one that closed the fastest. Just short of place by a nose and win by half-length. Paid $2.60 to show.

Race 5: BC Sweet Bell (# 6) 3/1 left fast and assumed lead as planned but tired in the first turn and then race even with the eventual winner outside of her. Backed up to 3rd going into the last turn and held position. Paid $2.40 show.

Stake competition is always a risky wager but this one is on a roll. Seems to be in top form and those next to him have little gate presence. She has won from inside, outside and middle so postposition should pose little problem. Would not bet if less than 8/5.

Race 6: Bella Scooter (# 4) 3/1 broke slow, raced inside, made up some ground in the turns. Managed to gain the show in mid stretch. Paid $2.20 to show.

Makes first career start after two decent closing efforts. Seems to be able to stay out of trouble and use best kick late. Speed in here is not as fast as she has gone in those schooling races. Looks to be near even money at post time.

Race 8: Trougelz (# 1) 3/1 broke fast out the box but could not gain the lead as the #5 pup, CT Buck Wild gained the advantage. Those two drew off and Trougelz could never catch up. Paid $2.40 Place and $2.20 Show. The two speedsters were bet down that the $1 Quin, paid $1.70..OUCH!

Race 11: Alarm Tar Heels (# 8) 2/1 tough night at Southland, This one broke badly, but raced inside to gain ground. Could not gain enough to go any closer than 3rd. Ended up 4th.

Race 13: TB’s Final Stand (# 3) 2/1 broke 3rd, raced inside into the turn, bounced outside to 4th out of the turn, came back on to gain the place inside the last turn. Paid $2.60 to place and $2.40 to show.

Race 2: Freedom Bank (# 1) Left mid pack, gained inside position with 4 others lined up outside of him into the turn. Moved to the outside late in the final turn and closed 4 wide to get up by a widening length and a half. Paid $7.00, $3.00, $2.40

Had road trouble most recent race. Two back, came strong against my top pick. Looks to break the maiden ranks at low odds tonight.

Race 6: Continental Kid (# 6) left well, was 4th going into turn, closed to within a length of the top three runners who were three across in the final turn, instead of going around the pack, he tried to run through them causing some confusion to him and others. Never recovered. If went 4 wide, would of won going away. Definite list puppy in your virtual kennel.

Wheeling

Race 1: SJ’s Girl Buster (# 2) 3/1

Looks as fast as any in this maiden race. Her mom has not had this litter in the database at this time but a previous inquiry appeared with her name. Upon inspection, half siblings are decent performers. A few with double digits wins.

Race 5: Kiowa WW Rivera (# 2) 4/1

This is the 2nd starter from a litter not yet in the database. Brother Kiowa WW Romero raced on Saturday over this oval. His schooling lines were not as good as this one. Romero left slowly but accelerated from the rail to gain the 4th position in the first turn. He kept to his task and ran down all except the wire to wire leader. This one will be overlooked at the window. Also interesting in this race is SJ’s Renegrade (# 2) 6/1 who has thesame connections and litter as in Race 1. If I like one of them, got to go with both. Use the first race results as a indication of this one’s ability.

Race 10: Somerset (# 5) 4/1

Is one of those in my virtual kennel that I have followed since he first started racing. He is now going for his 3rd win in 4 lifetime starts. Keep betting him as he climbs the ladder.

Race 13: WP’s Cameo (# 4) 3/1

Was having problems earlier this month but when dropping down to class A, he braved up and is looking like monster again. Has won twice in this AA class with some very impressive speed. Looks to continue the streak.

Twilight Nov 1st

Southland

Race 3: Bella Nightmare (# 6) 2/1

Is the first of his litter to hit the track.Half siblings have not produced early on their careers so I am a little hesitant in backing this one based solely on lineage. I rather like this unknown quantity based on his two superior schooling races. This speed is Class C material and if repeated, should have this one pulling away at the wire.

Monday Evening Nov 1st

Daytona Beach

Race 9 Ida’s Power (# 5)

She has won four in a row (including a blistery job last out in this top class) and went off at 3/1 or higher in the process. Has won 5 of 9 lifetime races. Her race times have steadily improved. I cannot see a ceiling in this one. She is the real deal.

---------------------------------

Orange Park

Race 2: Craigie Ironlad (# 3) 4/1

Double class drop and excellent schooling race foretells of this one’s impending good fortune.

Race 3: May’s Flora (# 3) 5/2

Is sharp at this juncture. Has the speed and stamina to continue on her way up. So far in her short career, once she gains the front end, she never gets caught.

Race 4: Heartlessplayboy (# 8) 4/1

It is all in the family. Full siblings, same litter are currently racing and winning at OP. This one is going for 3rd win in 5 starts. Seeyouwheniseeyou last raced and won his 3rd in 4 races at 5/1. Sugar Time won her 4th in 5 starts at 4.50 to 1. Lineage is a gift that keeps on giving.

Wheeling Downs

Race 8: Foresee (# 1) 5/2 uncharacteristically left slow and had no early pop as he left all of them go by and then he angled out into the turn and raced wide through out the balance of the race. It was as if another dog took his place. Hope the real pup returns in the next start.

Bad start in most recent race but recovered enough to give credence to his speed. Has his favorite trap (post position) and should contend for the lead early. A clean trip to the front will give him the race.

Race 16: Hail Storm Bones (# 8) 4/1 broke well, was bothered by the bump into the 1st turn when racing third. Lost interest on the backside and backed up in the last turn.

Brother of Jivin Jiovanny and Misty Storm Bones who are currently racing well. This one appears to be the best of the crop so far. Outside trap should keep this one out of harm’s way. Has the speed to compete with all these.

Race 17: Kelsos Rockaway (# 6) 4/1 SCRATCH

Started racing this year in April. Once he reached the AA level, he never dropped out of it. Today, if he does not hit the board, will be forced to race in the Class A level next out. I cannot see my favorite puppy doing that. I would expect him to go off the favorite.

Victoryland

Race 7: Potrs Homerun (# 2) 7/2 broke even, slight bump early, backed to last prior to the turn. No factor rest of race. Went off as Even money fav.

PH returns following a nearly 3-month layoff with two fast schooling races. She is also on the class drop. She is a strong contender for the win.

Race 14: Pat C Shady Boy (# 1) 9/2 Left alertly gaining the lead in short order. Once on the engine, kept to his task to the wire. This track has the slowest mutual pool arriving from the simulcast outlets. If you view the video, this one was 1/5 or lower since they opened the windows, was 3/5 at the buzzer when the pools closed. When the race was over, he was 2/1. The 2nd favorite at 6/5 at the buzzer was the #8 dog. Post race, he ended up at 7/1. Watching the board at Victoryland is no way to bet.

Pat C Shady Boy ended up paying $6.60 to win, $3.80 to place and $2.60 to show.

Meets a tough field but gets trap box where he loves it best. Main rivals will have break clean and run him down if they expect to win. Will be on the lead early and often.

Orange Park

Race 3: AJ’s Cookie Time (# 7) 6/1 was 5th out the box, ended up 5 wide into the first turn (which is deadly 99% of the time) and pushed towards the rail causing a mass pinball action. Recovered, went 4th up the backside and held position to wire. All in all, a pretty decent effort.

First time started with two excellent schooling races over this course. Speed looks to be enough to handle these maidens. WW Thunder Cats (# 1) seems to be the best suited to benefit in the battle to the first turn. I would like to watch the odds board in relation to the ex & quin probables to see if there is an overlay with these two. High probability for their hitting the line together.

Race 5: RCK Atomic Dog (# 7) 3/1 showed some early speed but was 5th (4 wide into the turn) and was pushed wider. Never recovered.

Shipper from West Virginia’s other greyhound track in Tri-State. Has one schooling race over the oval and looks to wire them at first asking.

Race 7: WW’s Gucci (# 6) 5/2 was not supported as he went off at 6/1. Left the box last, accelerated to be 4th into the turn in traffic, gained 3rd out of the turn and race as a stalker till the stretch when he put in his best strides. Came up a little short for the win but did gain a strong second. Will bet him back next out. Paid $10.60 to place and $4.60 to show.

WW G has been learning his trade the hard way, that is bumping his way and he now seems to know how to race. When one adds inherited speed with knowledge, one gets a game performer. This one is winner of two in a row and is destined for the A class in short order.

Race 14: Miami On Fire (# 3) 3/1 Broke fast out the box, gained the early lead, headed to the rail and never looked back. Paid $10.40 to win, $5.20 to place and $3.20 for the show.

Has improved with each successive start. I love betting these types on the class jump as they rarely get pounded hard on the way up. Looks faster than all these and with trap 3, should gain a quick lead and run away with this.

Race 15: Seeking Beauty (# 2) 2/1 broke slow, never in it. Winning time of race was 31:10. This one has raced in 30:70’s for her last three races prior to this one. Would bet her back next out.

SB is winner of three in a row, starting at M, D and C. Now meets B class and this one’s speed is superior in this field. All this one does is get a quick lead and open up on her contestants. Once she hits the lead, head to the window!

Daytona Beach

Race 6: RJ’s Katy’s Star (# 3)

Is one of those Palm Beach shippers that loves this oval. In her first try in Class D, she raced off the lead and came up late for the win. On the class jump, she broke out fast and never looked back. This is her toughest field to date. I see two others that will be around early and often. Flying Estero (# 6) has been my top pick previously and has some decent early speed. Should be outside of the top pick. The other contender is Favorite Bid (# 5) who seems to excel at the Class C level only to fizzle out at B.

Race 11: AMF Panther (# 1)

Was top pick last out. She broke decent and raced 4th off the pace. Made up ground on the backside and saved her best kick for late. She almost got up. Would not surprise me to see her leave a little faster from the rail. She looms large this night.

Race 13: MW’s Brisco (# 5)

Has been on a terror till last week. Seems this one never relinquishes the lead once attained. Problem last week was getting past the leader. Raced game to the wire but was just short. Trying this one again though odds will be low.

Race 14: M Morningmonster (# 2)I can tell you up front that longer distances races are my weakness. I tend to go for the closers rather those front-runners. M Morningmonster just missed two back from outside post. Drawing inside him is pure early speed that has a history of backing up late. My guess is that (# 1) Cleo Class Act will fend off any early challenges and hopefully, the M Monster will be close enough to pick up the win. Odds should be in the 3/1 to 9/2 range at post time.

I had to go look because I also had a play for Race 11 and wanted to see why we have different picks.... But we don't... AMF Panther is the 6 in that race.
Should win easy.

Sorry I listed Daytona as evening when in fact, it was afternoon racing. Me bad.

Had 4 winners from 6 greyhounds, all hit the board and 5 made money if one would bet them across the board. hope tonight at Orange Park is just as good.

Monday Matinee Nov 1st Results

Wheeling

Race 1: SJ’s Girl Buster (# 2) 3/1 a real decent effort, she left quickly but her small size makes her work harder than the larger greyhounds, bothered in the turn as she was midtrack position on the lead, was bumped by the #7 in the last turn as she headed to the rail, she remained on the lead to very late. Paid $15.80 to place and $6.60 to show.

Looks as fast as any in this maiden race. Her mom has not had this litter in the database at this time but a previous inquiry appeared with her name. Upon inspection, half siblings are decent performers. A few with double digits wins.

Race 5: Kiowa WW Rivera (# 2) 4/1 left the box well, raced 2nd inside into the turn right beside # 2 SJ’s Renegade and then inside him and bumped him off stride. Once assumed the lead, kept to task to the wire. Paid $10.60 to win, to $8.40 place and $2,60 to show. SJ’s Renegade recovered better than expected to gain 4th.

Race 10: Somerset (# 5) 4/1 left slower than normal so traffic was an early problem as he ended up 7th in between others into the turn. Forced his way out and closed willingly to be in a very close photo for place. Just short. Paid $3.60 to show.

Is one of those in my virtual kennel that I have followed since he first started racing. He is now going for his 3rd win in 4 lifetime starts. Keep betting him as he climbs the ladder.

Race 13: WP’s Cameo (# 4) 3/1 out the box first, headed to the rail, and won as she pleased or as the announcer stated “IN TOTAL CONTROL”. I love the across the board prices. Everyone is looking to make a score while others risk little to earn their keep. If you have not noticed by now, you can make money over time betting across the board. She paid $7.20 to win, $6.00 to place and $6.00 to show. Greyhound racing has smaller pools so those that tend to bet large, will kill the pools.

Was having problems earlier this month but when dropping down to class A, he braved up and is looking like monster again. Has won twice in this AA class with some very impressive speed. Looks to continue the streak.

Southland

Race 3: Bella Nightmare (# 6) 2/1 broke 2nd beside the # 5 pup, edge away from him early and started a methodical drive to the wire opening up. I can see that there is still value playing them across the board. This one paid $2.40 to win, $4.60 to place and $3.00 to show.

Is the first of his litter to hit the track.Half siblings have not produced early on their careers so I am a little hesitant in backing this one based solely on lineage. I rather like this unknown quantity based on his two superior schooling races. This speed is Class C material and if repeated, should have this one pulling away at the wire.

Race 9 Ida’s Power (# 5) Sorry about posting this as evening as it was a matinee. Ida broke first and never looked back. $8.00 to win, $5.40 to place and $3.40 to show.

She has won four in a row (including a blistery job last out in this top class) and went off at 3/1 or higher in the process. Has won 5 of 9 lifetime races. Her race times have steadily improved. I cannot see a ceiling in this one. She is the real deal.

November 3rd, Wed Matinee

Wheeling Island:

Race 1: Bridal Fever (# 8) 5/1

Bridal Fever is a first time starter from a former Wheeling Downs mom who last raced in 2008. This is her first litter. Sire is one tough campaigner in Iowa at Bluffs Run. He started and ended his career on top. Many of his offspring have won at first asking. I love the two quick schooling races prior to this race. Trap 8 should permit this girl to race clean in her first attempt at racing for money.

Race 8: RC Razzle Dazzle (# 5) 8/5

Was top pick on the 27th. Loved him then and with that race under his belt, should be able to make it through the classes up to at least the A class in short order.

Race 10: Kiowa Cody Cates (# 6) 7/2

Has not raced lower than this Class A level all season at the Island. Seems to have found the key to his previous success with that strong schooling race on the 25th. Anywhere near that effort will propel this one to the wire in easy fashion. His best time so far prior to that schooling is 30:02. Last week, he ran a blistering 29:57. Would not surprise me to see this one to go on a streak against the top greyhounds on the grounds.

Race 17: KT Bailey (# 4) 6/1

Is one sharp puppy at this time but meets a tough test in her try at AA class. Picked her last out and she surprised a lot of people but not us. She is deceptive in her speed as she is not an all out sprinter but rather one that uses her speed for position and wait till later on to strike. She started this 3-race streak in Class C and has won facing tougher each week. Why get off the train when it has not reached the station? All aboard the KT Bailey express.

Orange Park

Race 5: GS Liam (# 1) 5/1

Liam is a sibling of GS Dex who won over course at first asking. He broke badly last out but showed some tenacity and grit as he put himself into a hard drive to gain 3rd into the turn. Raced there till late as he moved inside of the 2nd place pup and passed him 10 yards from the wire. He actually made up some ground on the leader but ran out of room. That kind of effort here will put him on top. His sister is starting from the 5 trap. Seems this kennel loves putting up siblings in the same race for some strange reason. She has the same genetic code as my top pick so do not be afraid of using GS Gianna (# 5)on the ticket.

Race 13: GS Dex (# 4) 4/1

Has raced well in his two starts with a win and a place. He appears to be the fastest of these and his tendencies to driving to the rail should give us inside position. If looking for a pup to key underneath, look to the (# 1) BL Sophie Lou who has enough early speed to be in the hunt.

Race 14: Ray’s Pride (# 1) 3/1

Ray is on the class drop from AA to this A level. Nothing in this field gives me concern. He seems to love inside posts where he can use his early speed. Given his post today, looks prime and ready to handle these.

Southland

Race 15: Miley Cyrus (# 4) 3/1

Miley seems to love the longer distances. Used to race at Wheeling but failed to fire up there. After shipping down here, has been a different animal. Don’t think she will get much support at the windows even with her morning line being 3/1.

Daytona Beach

Race 2: Baby Jo (# 3)

This one is one of those Palm Beach shippers that seem to find themselves better results on other ovals. Has a sibling that won first three races lifetime this year at Palm Beach. Has two schooling race wins prior to this meeting. Should be considered armed and dangerous. Looking for her main rivals in here and came up with one that is not listed in the database. Clear Skye (# 4) has many half siblings with some decent numbers in career wins. Enters this race with a strong schooling. Another with little information is AJ Smog Runner (# 5) who enters with a strong schooling race under his belt. His mom was not as successful with his half siblings but you have to respect the speed he has shown so far.

Race 4: Real Courage (# 5)

A shipper from the Gulf Greyhound seems to love this oval. Has put in two sub 31:00 trips, albeit schooling, in his only tries over this course. That speed should be more than enough to beat this C class. Heck, that is fast enough to compete with the top dogs here.

Race 7: JJ Cafe Mocha (# 2)

JJ is another of those Palm Beach shippers facing easier. Has not won since January but does have9 wins in 60 plus starts. It might be more of a hunch than reason, but I do believe that she will be live at hitting the board at a nice price.

Race 10: Charm My Way (# 8)

Charm is one of those bet back puppies that I have found a reason to like in breeding. Won at first asking and was in road trouble last out. I really do not like the 8 trap much at Daytona but it appears this one should be clear of early traffic thus increasing her chances.

Race 13: Docket Call (# 7)

He is another one of those bet backs. He too had road trouble last out. Hope he makes amends.

Race 15: Superior Oksana (# 8)

The getaway feature is Grade TA with some strong contenders that have conflicting paths out the box. Seems the #1 likes to go mid-track when leaving fast while #2 loves to pinch in when leaving. A collision is almost certain with these two favorites. Superior Oksana has enough speed to leave for position and should benefit with all the inside traffic bumps. This one has been closing well from outside posts in this class. It is easyt to like her chances.

EVENING

Orange Park

Race7: Sugar Time (# 6) 19/1

I am starting to repeat myself but this is one of those multiple winners on the climb up the ladder that has two or more siblings doing the same. Seeyouwhenisee you is also 4 of 5 while Heartlessplayboy is going for 3 of 5 the night (Monday) as I write this piece. You have to bet them on their way up as the odds will higher than on their way down in class.

Race 13: GS Ocean Blue (# 2) 4/1

Is on a double class drop where he is racing bad. Even with those bad times he is competitive with this Class D. Sometimes racing against lesser will wake these types up and they will gain their confidence. If that is the case, we may have one that cashes tonight but will be live next out in Class C.

Race 2: Craigie Ironlad (# 3) 4/1 broke slow, raced wide but managed to close up for 4th.

Race 3: May’s Flora (# 3) 5/2 broke quickly, assumed the lead in about 10 strides and never looked back. They cannot catch this one once she sees daylight. Paid $5.60 to win, $3.40 to place and $2.60 to show.

Is sharp at this juncture. Has the speed and stamina to continue on her way up. So far in her short career, once she gains the front end, she never gets caught.

Race 4: Heartlessplayboy (# 8) 4/1 broke well from the outside which is tougher at this track than most others. Raced 2-wide with the leader. Tried to cut inside in the last turn as was cut off, he came back on to close making sure of the 2nd place but came up short for the win by a length. If this one drew inside of the winner, it would have been over at the half. Paid $2.80 to place and $3.40 to show.

Thursday Evening, Nov 4th

Victoryland

Race 5: Stonewall (# 2) 5/2

Stonewall is going for 4 in a row. Has not raced under this top class in over a year. Oct 26, 2009 was the last time he raced in Class B. His forte is tremendous box presence. He seems one of the best greyhounds in timing the opening of the box based on the sound of the electrical lure. He once ran off 6 in a row in Open Company. This front-runner seems to open it up in the stretch.

Race 9: San Tan Porkchop (# 2) 5/2

Tries the drop down from A level once again. Last two times in Grade B, has won easy in front end fashion. Might as well consider it three after this race.

Race 14: Just About Hair (# 5) 5/2

Started career against better at Bluff’s Run in Iowa. Has done nothing wrong in her schooling races or her maiden win last out. Front-end speed usually holds up on this oval. Out of the nine in the litter, two won at first asking over that tough Bluffs Run course. This one just might get better with each race.

Southland

Race3: PL’s Paul Can (# 8) 5/2

In a maiden race with little to offer, I found at least some upside potential in this one’s breeding. This is the 2nd litter with same sire in succeeding years. First litter has half of them competing in the AA or Open level. All but one of the nine has made it to the track with all of them in class B or above. Schooling race indicates fitness and enough speed to compete with these.

Race 5: Radio Spirit (# 8) 4/1

Please note that this race has 9 entrants in it. This one is making 2nd attempt at the D level after breaking his maiden. He closed from 9th last out only to come up a little short (1/2 length). If looking for some exotic action, I tend to think the race will set up for Z’s Monica (# 2) to hit the board. She should add some value to the ticket.

Race 6: K’s Bruce (# 5) 2/1

Enters first lifetime start with two excellent schooling races. Lineage does not indicate early success as two other pups from the litter have made starts. One did win but not at first asking. Connections may be saving the better ones for now. Can race and run down who ever inherit the lead after the break.

Race 7: KL’s Ryan (# 6) 5/1

Pure early speed unmatched in this contest. Love this animal even though up in class. Legg Kennel will be having another of those big days/nights at Southland.

Race 8 K’s Trouble (# 7) 2/1

Deja Vous all over again. Same connections as Race 6 and 7 with similar schooling races prior to first lifetime start. Same reasoning as in Race 6. Can race with speed for position and run down the front-end types.

Orange Park

Race 5: GS Gucci (# 7) 14/1

It is a hunch bet at best but something in this puppy is telling me that I better beware. Has one sibling that won at first asking and then won two more after a couple bumping incident races. She has the speed but not the size to withstand the bumps. Her sibling won from traps 7 and 8. Could be the right time and place to cash a nice ticket.

Race 12: May’s Falco (# 4/1)

MF is a winner of two on this upward path. She has not put two wins back to back till now. Seems she now has acquired the knowledge of racing to her speed that will serve her well. She does not need the lead to win. It appears that she will be saving ground sitting 2nd into the turn. The one dog I fear most in here is (# 4) GM’s Chicago who has the speed to contend though has not done well at Class B in recent weeks.

Quiet night watching the poll results come in..
capping was the same.

Nov 2nd Evening Results

Daytona Beach

Race 6: RJ’s Katy’s Star (# 3) no road problems, just out run in this race.

Is one of those Palm Beach shippers that loves this oval. In her first try in Class D, she raced off the lead and came up late for the win. On the class jump, she broke out fast and never looked back. This is her toughest field to date. I see two others that will be around early and often. Flying Estero (# 6 )4th has been my top pick previously and has some decent early speed. Should be outside of the top pick. The other contender is Favorite Bid (# 5) who seems to excel at the Class C level only to fizzle out at B. $14.20, $5.60 and $4.00

Race 11: AMF Panther (# 6) broke last, raced inside but seem to have no pop, came back on in the last turn with a furious drive from way out of it to be in photo for place. Kept on racing after the race and actually beat the winner for the food at the box in the turn. Paid $2.10 shw

Was top pick last out. She broke decent and raced 4th off the pace. Made up ground on the backside and saved her best kick for late. She almost got up. Would not surprise me to see her leave a little faster from the rail. She looms large this night.

Race 13: MW’s Brisco (# 5) left, worked to gain lead, tired late to fin 2nd, Paid $3.20 to place and $2.40 to show.

Has been on a terror till last week. Seems this one never relinquishes the lead once attained. Problem last week was getting past the leader. Raced game to the wire but was just short. Trying this one again though odds will be low.

Race 14: M Morningmonster (# 2) got away within range but was not up for the big score. Did manage to be close enough to gain the show position. Paid $10.40 to show.

I can tell you up front that longer distances races are my weakness.

November 3rd, Wed Matinee

Wheeling Island:

Race 1: Bridal Fever (# 8) 5/1 broke slow and raced at the back of the pack but kept pace with those around her. Needs time to learn her craft.

Race 8: RC Razzle Dazzle (# 5) 8/5 raced well given the trip. Was pinched early, collided in the first turn, came from way out of it going wide to just miss the place. Should be a main player next out. Paid $3.20 for the show position.

Was my top pick on the 27th. Loved him then and with that race under his belt, should be able to make it through the classes up to at least the A class in short order.

Race 10: Kiowa Cody Cates (# 6) 7/2 left midpack, was bothered, lost interest. Lost to one that I picked a few times in Jamall who put in a game effort for the win. Hate it when you jump off one and they perform like that.

Race 17: KT Bailey (# 4) 6/1 broke slow, had to hurdle over a fallen #2 puppy early, gained a little on the leading pack. Clean trip and better start, this one would of raced with them.

Orange Park

Race 5: GS Liam (# 1) 5/1 left with the 7 and 8 pressing into the turn, assumed inside position and held sway against the outside threats, inside threat was the 6 who pressed this one to the wire. It was one strong effort in winning this contest. Heart and speed is a great combination of attributes. Paid $3.60 ,$2.60 ,$2.20

GS Gianna was forced wide right out the box and ran entire race in the 4 or 5 path. Just lost in a photo for 4th by one who raced inside most of the trip.

Race 13: GS Dex (# 4) 4/1 sorry I posted the wrong trap number (#3). For statistical purposes, I am left with the #4 in my win/loss stats. GS Dex broke slower than normal, raced inside, made up ground in the last turn to close for the show inside the competition.

Has raced well in his two starts with a win and a place. He appears to be the fastest of these and his tendencies to driving to the rail should give us inside position. If looking for a pup to key underneath, look to the (# 1) BL Sophie Lou who has enough early speed to be in the hunt.

Race 14: Ray’s Pride (# 1) 3/1out run early, bumped in turn from mid pack. Got beat up on the backside, got angry, came back for 4th.

Ray is on the class drop from AA to this A level. Nothing in this field gives me concern. He seems to love inside posts where he can use his early speed. Given his post today, looks prime and ready to handle these.

Southland

Race 15: Miley Cyrus (# 4) 3/1 broke out slow, raced mid track, trailed the field through out. Just par for the course on this day of racing

Miley seems to love the longer distances. Used to race at Wheeling but failed to fire up there. After shipping down here, has been a different animal. Don’t think she will get much support at the windows even with her morning line being 3/1.

Daytona Beach

Race 2: Baby Jo (# 3) left a little, was outrun to the first turn but raced inside, came late to close up for the show. Paid $3.00 Show.

Race 4: Real Courage (# 5) left with the front running pack, sat right off the top two who were battling, made a power move up the backside and went on to one impressive victory. Did not hit best stride till the lane and just opened up. Bet back on the jump in class next out! Paid $5.20 , $2.60 and $2.40

A shipper from the Gulf Greyhound seems to love this oval. Has put in two sub 31:00 trips, albeit schooling, in his only tries over this course. That speed should be more than enough to beat this C class. Heck, that is fast enough to compete with the top dogs here.

Race 7: JJ Cafe Mocha (# 2) was late out the box, raced inside for most of the race, was bumped slightly in the first turn. Beat two others to the line. Out

JJ is another of those Palm Beach shippers facing easier. Has not won since January but does have9 wins in 60 plus starts. It might be more of a hunch than reason, but I do believe that she will be live at hitting the board at a nice price.

Race 10: Charm My Way (# 8) left well, was stalking 2 wide at 4th within a length in the turn, two leaders were shy of something and backed into a major traffice pileup on the backside, never recovered.

Charm is one of those bet back puppies that I have found a reason to like in breeding. Won at first asking and was in road trouble last out. I really do not like the 8 trap much at Daytona but it appears this one should be clear of early traffic thus increasing her chances.

Race 13: Docket Call (# 7) broke slow, last to the turn, raced inside, some bumping in the final turn, did close but lost the photo for the show. Fin. 4th

He is another one of those bet backs. He too had road trouble last out. Hope he makes amends.

Race 15: Superior Oksana (# 8) “best laid plans”…you know,, the 1 and 2 did just the opposite thus letting the 2 get free early and win easy. My Superioe Oksana was last to the turn, raced outside, continued to be last to midway in the final turn where she put in a nice drive to come midtrack to get the place. Paid $11.60 to place and $3.00 to show.

EVENING

Orange Park

Race7: Sugar Time (# 6) 19/1 Ohhhhh…the Humanity!…it was brutual. She left a little slow, was bumped hard by the #7 and was 4 wide heading into the turn where she was offstrided and pushed out of the way. Better luck next time.

Race 13: GS Ocean Blue (# 2) 4/1 left alertly as he was 2nd out the box, raced inside of the leader into the turn, collided with leader and ended up sideways in the turn but never lost the lead, straightened out and went to work in a methodical manner. Was not going to be denied. Should handle C class next up. Paid $7.00, $3.80 and $2.80.
Is on a double class drop where he is racing bad. Even with those bad times he is competitive with this Class D. Sometimes racing against lesser will wake these types up and they will gain their confidence. If that is the case, we may have one that cashes tonight but will be live next out in Class C.

Friday Matinee

Wheeling Downs

Race 1: Black Magic Bonz (# 4) 3/1

There is a lot of potential in this maiden encounter. I am particularly interested in this Bonz as he has had several siblings win at first asking. First one was Jivin Jiovanny and Hail Storm Bones. This is shaping up to be a decent litter.

Race 4: Kelsos Marigold (# 7) 2/1

She is a full brother to Rockaway that gives this one credence against all others on this oval. Seemed to bounce a bit from that big effort on the return from a layoff. Might not be bet as much as there are a couple in here that should attract some attention.

Race 6: Kay Sara Isabele (# 8) 7/1

Kay SI is a consistent sort that seems to be always around. Today’s field is weaker than most Class B contests that led me to look for a consistent sort from a decent trap. Would suggest that betting across the board might be the best plan with this one.

Race 11: CTW Gran Torino (# 5) 5/1

Race huge two back and had some road problems at this level last out. Looked better than I had given him credit on the class jump. Actually thought he would of won that race if given a clean trip.

EVENING

Wheeling

Race 1: Kiowa WW Romero (# 4) 3/1

He raced well first start on this track. Full brother, Kiowa WW Rivera, won at first asking later in the week. This litter is one that we may pay attention to. Has speed and seems to like this game. Grand Isle (# 1) has a good schooling but his siblings (2 of them) have started their careers with two 8th’s and one 7th’s in three attempts. I would use Tracy Of Ruckus (# 3)as she has a sibling, Thea of Ruckus who is two of two over this course. Guess the best way would be to box Kiowa WW Romero with Tracy of Ruckus in the Ex or play the quin (3/4).

Rce 12: WW’s Sugar Ray (# 2) 9/2

Sugar has been racing pretty well against the top caliber pups on this track. I do believe he is ready to take the next step in winning this AA race. He seems to thrive on inside post where he can track the frontrunners with inside position in the turns. He is a quick one that may be double-digit payout if he connects.

Race 13: Gable Yamaha (# 1) 10/1

This is a TAA with only three AA contestants. The rest are Class A. This one has an affinity for inside posts where he can be part of the early mix of the race. Do believe if he can get the early lead, he may wire them. He will not get much support from the wagering public and he has not won a race since the beginning of August. He has shown the ability in the past, hoping he reverts back to his former self.

Race 15: Gabe Daniela (# 2) 9/2

She has faced tougher than these but recent form went south until last week. She is back. Love betting these types as the work back up the class ladder. I have a ton of respect for High Noon Hero (# 8) who was honored as being one of the elite greyhounds of 2009. I would bet a quin with these two to cover my straight wagers.

Southland

Race 2: TB’s Final Stand (# 4) 3/1

TB has been racing well over this course since shipping from Palm Beach. Time wise, looks to be faster than all of these. He needs a quick start to be most effective. Would not mind if she took the lead early.

Race 3 KL’s Angus (# 3) 7/2

Not much is in this race. I see that this one is the 1st of his litter to make it to the track. Schooling race is as good as any in here. Previous litter with this lineage was in 2007. Many AA and Open competitors were from the litter. Think this one might be better off coming from off the pace.

Race 11: Troubelz (# 3) 7/2

Loved this one last week over CT Buck Wild (# 1) and they ended up in reverse order. They match up again this week. Reload and fire!

Race 14: Dirtydingusmagee (# 1) 7/1

This Class D event has some suspect speed. Dirty has just missed twice in photo finishes in his last two attempts. No more knocking on the door for him, he will kick that door in.

Daytona Beach

Race 6: Gabe Steamengine (# 2)

Steam has won two in a row. Is a full brother to Gabe Hammer Curl and others. Decent breeding. The jump in class should be offset by the inside post though this litter seemed to handle the outside just as well.

Race 9: Freedom Bank (# 2)

Free is one of those bet-backs. Has a great closing stride but is dependent upon the early fractions of the race. Feel the front end is suspect here.

Race 12: Kiowa Sky Warren (# 4)

Sky is racing in tiptop shape now and looks to be the fastest in here. This one has the ability to race off the front end and close up late or wire them if he clears early.

Race 15: Gabe Sneakylunge (# 4)

Sneaky is from the same litter as Steamengine in Race 6 and Hammer Curl mentioned earlier. Do not have high hopes for this one as he never won in this class. I just think someday (maybe this day) things will fall into place for him.

Race 5: Stonewall (# 2) 5/2 –Scratched-

This front-runner seems to open it up in the stretch.

Race 9: San Tan Porkchop (# 2) 5/2 Video went out, won, Paid $8.00 to win, $10.60 to place and $5.00 to show.

Tries the drop down from A level once again. Last two times in Grade B, has won easy in front end fashion. Might as well consider it three after this race.

Race 14: Just About Hair (# 5) 5/2 broke slow, race in traffic, lost interest in the first turn. Did bump a couple on his way around.

Southland

Race 3: PL’s Paul Can (# 8) 5/2 Broke fast, attainted the early lead and ran on to victory. Paid $5.20, $2.80 and $2.20.

Race 5: Radio Spirit (# 8) 4/1 left slow, tried to come back in the inside of the turn two wide and collided. He might of fallen as he was going out of camera range.

Monica paid $4.80 to show.

Race 6: K’s Bruce (# 5) 2/1 broke slow, tried to recover to the turn, rail pup moved him way to the outside where he collided with another. Did manage to come back a little for 4th place.

Enters first lifetime start with two excellent schooling races. Lineage does not indicate early success as two other pups from the litter have made starts. One did win but not at first asking. Connections may be saving the better ones for now. Can race and run down who ever inherit the lead after the break.

Race 7: KL’s Ryan (# 6) 5/1 broke slow, ran in traffic the whole race, caught 5th,

Pure early speed unmatched in this contest. Love this animal even though up in class. Legg Kennel will be having another of those big days/nights at Southland.

Race 8 K’s Trouble (# 7) 2/1 left well, was 2nd outside with the 1 in front and the 8 behind him. He stayed midtrack and ran down the front runner going into the last turn. Just pulled away like even money animals should. The 8 race well hugging the rail and passed up the 1 for 2nd. $4.20, $3.20 and $2.60.

Deja Vous all over again. Same connections as Race 6 and 7 with similar schooling races prior to first lifetime start. Same reasoning as in Race 6. Can race with speed for position and run down the front-end types.

Orange Park

Race 5: GS Gucci (# 7) 14/1 off the board

It is a hunch bet at best but something in this puppy is telling me that I better beware. Has one sibling that won at first asking and then won two more after a couple bumping incident races. She has the speed but not the size to withstand the bumps. Her sibling won from traps 7 and 8. Could be the right time and place to cash a nice ticket.

Race 12: May’s Falco (# 3) 4/1 broke faster than I suspected and assumed the lead early. There was no looking back. Paid $14.40 to win, $6.20 to place and $4.60 to show.

Was totally out of it yesterday. Did not realize that I had done Saturday's selections so there is a change in plans. I am posting those here.

November 6th, Saturday

Matinee

Wheeling Island

Race 1: Misty Day Bones (# 4) 7/2

This girl is starting to show some of her brothers have been able to do on this surface. Would not be long and might be today. Brother’s Hail Storm Bones and Jivin Jiovanny have produced at first asking. Underneath, I love the (#1) Mo’s Crockett and last time’s top pick, WW Kay Sis Sis (# 5).

Race 2: WW’s Cowboys (# 7) 4/1

Cowboy was my top pick last out and he did not disappoint. Really do not know if the outside trap (post) will hurt or help. Seems those around him are void of any early foot so I would expect him to be near if not on the lead in short order. If he is, he looms large over these. I expect the Daily Double of 4-7 to be in the $50 range if successful.

Race 3: Thera Of Ruckus (# 2) 3/1

T Of Ruckus has been nothing but spectacular since she hit the track running. Once attaining the lead, you can head to the window. She is putting in efforts that rival AA class pups. Will be a couple weeks before she will be in the top echelon of racing here.

Race 7: RC Show Biz (# 5) 3/1

RC has been off a while and has schooled her way back in shape. First start back, she set her yearly record of 37:53 for this distance. She has every reason to bounce after that effort but it seems those longer distance types bounce less.

Race 13: WP’s Cameo (# 1) 7/2

Cameo is simply on fire of late. She is another of those fast out the box types and with trap #1, should drive to the lead in short order. On the lead, she will just open up and pull away. Another of those once they make the lead, head to the window pups. Cry Case (# 8) is the only one that can offer any resistance. In the exotics I suggest a cold exacta 1-8 and back it up with the Quinn 1-8.

Race 15: KB’s Ruckus (# 1) 4/1 (1-3-8-6)

The race for all the marbles is called the $100,000 Wheeling Invitational Championship. I am going with the Panhandle Champion from an earlier stake this year. Has the speed and inside position. For 2nd, I have to go with Bella Udi (# 3) who seems to have enough speed to make this race interesting. Looking for some value for the exotics, I usually go with some that others would overlook. For 3rd, I am heading outside for one that seems to like that role and post. CTW Speedy Trent (# 8) has won from this post in the elimination leg two. Gable Hot Dog (# 6) might just get lucky by avoiding any mishaps.

Race 17: Mac’s Wynken (# 8) 3/1

Mac has been racing well at this distance. If you omit the longer distances races, he has won 3 of 4 AA races with the one race not won he managed the place. One of those wins was a Juvenile Stake Championship.

Daytona Beach

Race 4: J’s Matter (# 4)

J is racing at the lowest level this year (Grade C). In the last couple races, he has shown that he is starting a reversal of form. There are others in here with faster lines but his back class and his instinct for racing to the rail should offset that pure speed of the others plus could help our odds on the board.

Race 9: Secret Seeker (# 4)

SS raced a big one last out in class. Seems to be set up to repeat. I feel that (# 8) Gallant Ruler is the one to benefit most if my pick gets in trouble in the turn. Early speed on both so I just be all right with these two fighting it out to the wire. The only question is Quinn or exacta?

Race 10: Cleo N Holly (# 2)

She is on my list to bet based on breeding but she has yet to show it. I stick with her for a couple more starts before abandoning ship.

EVENING

Wheeling Island

Race 2: Atascocita Zed (# 3) 3/1

This guy was simply awesome in his career debut. That effort would put the AA seasoned veterans to shame. Love betting this guy on his way up.

Race 11: Sarreal (# 2) 4/1

Is racing two classes lower and almost won last out in class. Looks to be top dog entered.

Race 12: Kiowa Kelsey (# 3) 9/2

This pup has done very well in the lower classes to get to this level. His first attempt was not as much as I expected. I still think that race was an anomaly and expect his normal effort to come forth here.

Wheeling Downs

Race 1: Black Magic Bonz (# 4) 3/1 left mid pack, headed to the rail prior to the 1st turn, closed inside benefiting from the bumping of others, gained lead out of the turn and never looked back. Paid $8.80, $5.80 and $5.00.

There is a lot of potential in this maiden encounter. I am particularly interested in this Bonz as he has had several siblings win at first asking. First one was Jivin Jiovanny and Hail Storm Bones. This is shaping up to be a decent litter.

Race 4: Kelsos Marigold (# 7) 2/1 left slower than normal, raced wide throughout, was fast enough to hold 3rd. Paid $2.60 to show.

She is a full brother to Rockaway that gives this one credence against all others on this oval. Seemed to bounce a bit from that big effort on the return from a layoff. Might not be bet as much as there are a couple in here that should attract some attention.

Race 6: Kay Sara Isabele (# 8) 7/1 was slow out the box but managed to be among the leaders racing wide, cut to the inside on the backside, gained the show. $3.60

Kay SI is a consistent sort that seems to be always around. Today’s field is weaker than most Class B contests that led me to look for a consistent sort from a decent trap. Would suggest that betting across the board might be the best plan with this one.

Race 11: CTW Gran Torino (# 5) 5/1 shot out like cannon, angled straight for the rail, led every step, one great performance. Paid $14.00, $8.20 and $5.20.

Race huge two back and had some road problems at this level last out. Looked better than I had given him credit on the class jump. Actually thought he would of won that race if given a clean trip.

EVENING

Wheeling

Race 1: Kiowa WW Romero (# 4) 3/1 left alertly, battled with one inside of him and one outside to the turn, all three bumped, survived to be 2nd out the turn, gained lead on the backside and went on home. Grand Isle came in 2nd to garner a $3 Ex for $66.60 and Quin for $16.80. Romero paid $5.60, $4.00 and $2.40.

I would use Tracy Of Ruckus (# 3 )as she has a sibling, Thea of Ruckus who is two of two over this course. Guess the best way would be to box Kiowa WW Romero with Tracy of Ruckus in the Ex or play the quin (3/4).

Rce 12: WW’s Sugar Ray (# 2) 9/2 broke slow, came off the rail early, raced wide to the wire. Off the board.

Sugar has been racing pretty well against the top caliber pups on this track. I do believe he is ready to take the next step in winning this AA race. He seems to thrive on inside post where he can track the frontrunners with inside position in the turns. He is a quick one that may be double-digit payout if he connects.

Race 13: Gable Yamaha (# 1) 10/1 sent off at 7/5, went Box To Wire, Paid $4.80, $3.00 and $2.60.

Race 15: Gabe Daniela (# 2) 9/2 left with the top group, gained inside position but was not as fast as the top three. Held fourth all the way around the track.

Southland

Race 2: TB’s Final Stand (# 4) 3/1 broke a little slow, raced off the front pack, tried to race inside and got cut off in the far turn, regrouped and came wide for place spot. Paid $3.00 Place and $2.20 show.

TB has been racing well over this course since shipping from Palm Beach. Time wise, looks to be faster than all of these. He needs a quick start to be most effective. Would not mind if she took the lead early.

Race 3 KL’s Angus (# 3) 7/2 broke last, rushed up the inside to gain 3rd into the 1st turn, made up ground hugging the rail, passed up the top two dogs on the backside to grab a 2 length lead into the final turn and pulled away. Paid $9.60 to win, $8.40 to place and $2.60 to show.

Not much is in this race. I see that this one is the 1st of his litter to make it to the track. Schooling race is as good as any in here. Previous litter with this lineage was in 2007. Many AA and Open competitors were from the litter. Think this one might be better off coming from off the pace.

Race 11: Trougelz (# 3) 7/2 broke quickly out the box, raced hard inside to the lead fending off the #4 dog. Once clear, went on to the wire to win this Stake Championship. Paid $5.20, $3.40 and $2.20

Loved this one last week over CT Buck Wild (# 1) and they ended up in reverse order. They match up again this week. Reload and fire!

Race 14: Dirtydingusmagee (# 1) 7/1 forget the morning line, went off at 7/5, left quickly, had to fend off 4 others in the first turn and backside, finally started to pull away in the final turn. He kicked that door in tonight. Paid $4.80, $2.80 and $2.20.

This Class D event has some suspect speed. Dirty has just missed twice in photo finishes in his last two attempts. No more knocking on the door for him, he will kick that door in.

Daytona Beach

Race 6: Gabe Steamengine (# 2) troubled trip from the box opening to the first turn, had no chance.

Steam has won two in a row. Is a full brother to Gabe Hammer Curl and others. Decent breeding. The jump in class should be offset by the inside post though this litter seemed to handle the outside just as well.

Race 9: Freedom Bank (# 2) was interfered with early out the box, benefited from another pile up in the first turn, came from 3rd to within a length and half of the winner. Finished 2nd, Paid $8.60 to place and $3.60 to show.

Free is one of those bet-backs. Has a great closing stride but is dependent upon the early fractions of the race. Feel the front end is suspect here.

Race 12: Kiowa Sky Warren (# 4) bothered start, forced another wider on the backside, ended up racing way outside, no chance to hit the board.

Sky is racing in tiptop shape now and looks to be the fastest in here. This one has the ability to race off the front end and close up late or wire them if he clears early.

Race 15: Gabe Sneakylunge (# 4) broke a little slow, did manage to get to the inside early, saved some ground, then moved outside to pass the 3rd place pup, came on with the winner. Finished a very game 2nd, Paid $0 (not covered) to place and $0 to (not covered) show. Amazing that nothing was bet to place or show on this 9/1 post time pup.

Sneaky is from the same litter as Steamengine in Race 6 and Hammer Curl mentioned earlier. Do not have high hopes for this one as he never won in this class. I just think someday (maybe this day) things will fall into place for him.

Wheeling Downs

Race 1: SJ’s Renegade (# 7) 6/1

This one recovered well after being bumped in the first turn in his first lifetime start. All three of this litter have made it to the races with one start each. One was bumped out like the above and one just missed for the win. Looks to be overlooked by the public. Macmanubrother (# 6) has some nice siblings but all took a while to gain their first win. Think this one will be strong enough to use as a key in the exotics.

Race 5: Kiowa Victory (# 4) 5/1

At first look, does not look as impressive as the others in here. I do like the steady improvement and has two siblings that have started their careers here. Kiowa Vancleave has a win and and 2nd in as many starts. Kiowa Villanuava who has only one start and was in a three way photo for the win. This one caught the show.

Race 12: Kiowa Vancleave (# 3) 3/1

Is racing sharp at this early stage. Love the match up with this class. AMF Gentleman (# 5) is a speedy sort that has hit the board 8 of 12 starts. The two wins were very fast times under 30:00. One would expect this one to have more years with this many starts. His two wins were from the 5 and 6 trap. Would bet the quin to protect the win money on Kiowa Vancleave.

Victoryland

Race 1: BB’s Yoga (# 5) 10/1

Yoga has some decent schooling races that appear to be a bit slower than this race will be contested. This one has a sibling, BB’s Yugo who has two wins and two seconds in 4 lifetime starts over this oval. Will be under the public’s radar screen. Hops she races to her brother’s abilities.

Race 7: BB’s Yugo (# 4) 7/2

Brother to the first race pick. This one is pure early speed. He will again play come and get me with this field.

Race 14: BF Inspecda Gold (# 8) 5/2

BF has been racing in top form of late that propelled her into the top classification (Grade A) on the grounds. Her first attempt was a troubled one. Today’s post should permit her more room to race. Her speed is as fast as most in here. She is facing more seasoned greyhounds which may lead to the others being bet more than she.

Got three more greyhounds entered at Orange Park. Add these to the Sunday's previously posted.

ORANGE PARK

Race 4: GS Dex (# 2) 9/2

Has been on my list to bet since he made it to the track. He has gone faster than he is currently. I do believe he is better than he has shown in his last two starts. His sibling is entered to day in the 13th.

Race 7: WW’s Gucci (# 4) 4/1

Has raced better than most current race. Like all three of these at Orange, they are on my list to bet. If there is one thing about, it has to be consistent. Her best effort brings home the money in this race.

Race 13: GS Liam (# 7) 4/1

Liam is the brother of Dex who is picked in Race 4 above. This one broke maiden in 2nd start. Do believe this litter will be producing more winners. Got to bet these types back once they win.

Not as I imagined but there were some strong efforts that failed to win but managed to impress me with their overcoming adversity. One in particular has a link to the video.

November 6th, Saturday

Matinee

Wheeling Island

Race 1: Misty Day Bones (# 4) 7/2 broke well and had a short lead out the box, problem is that she could not carry her speed, lost the lead before the first turn, and was outrun the rest of the race.

Race 2: WW’s Cowboys (# 7) 4/1 left quickly, assumed lead prior to the first turn and never looked back. Strong effort once again for this one. Paid $5.60, $4.80 and $2.40.

Race 3: Thera Of Ruckus (# 2) 3/1 broke slower than normal, game effort trying to pass the leader going into the far turn, just did not have the room and was cut off. Still she ran hard to the wire to maintain a close 2nd. Lost to a half brother of Kelsos Rockaway. Paid $3.00 for the place and $2.40 for the show.

T Of Ruckus has been nothing but spectacular since she hit the track running. Once attaining the lead, you can head to the window. She is putting in efforts that rival AA class pups. Will be a couple weeks before she will be in the top echelon of racing here.

Race 7: RC Show Biz (# 5) 3/1 left slower than normal, raced within the pack. Showed a little heart when pressed on the backside. Guess the bounce effect does hit the longer distance runners.

RC has been off a while and has schooled her way back in shape. First start back, she set her yearly record of 37:53 for this distance. She has every reason to bounce after that effort but it seems those longer distance types bounce less.

Race 13: WP’s Cameo (# 1) 7/2 broke to the early lead being hounded by Cry Case who could not make up enough ground to late in the stretch to beat Cameo in the $100,000 Wheeling Invitational Championship. Cameo Paid $2.20 to place and $2.20 to show. Time of the race 37:21 set a track record for the distance. This race was truly a great effort by both greyhounds. The quin saver paid $4.20, looking back I should of boxed the exacta which returned over $26 for a $3 wager.

Race 15: KB’s Ruckus (# 1) 4/1 (1-3-8-6) broke well, but seems that the inside path today has been like quick sand for all who have traversed it. Tried hard to catch the CTW Speedy Trent (# 8) who just jetted out to an easy lead. Held on to deny Ruckus paid $2.60 to place and $2.80 to show. $3 Ex paid 8-1 $69.90 and the Quin paid $16.40.

Race 17: Mac’s Wynken (# 8) 3/1 broke out the box 3rd, raced tough in the first turn as he survived a tough bump, went to work as he ran down the front runner in the lane. This race is the text book definition of a driving winner. Paid $4.20, $3.00 and $2.80.

Mac has been racing well at this distance. If you omit the longer distances races, he has won 3 of 4 AA races with the one race not won he managed the place. One of those wins was a Juvenile Stake Championship.

Daytona Beach

Race 4: J’s Matter (# 4) came out the box a bit slow, was bumped prior to the 1st turn, bumped in the first turn and on the backside while still driving. Went from 5th to 3rd to close a willingly show place. One determined effort in a losing cause. Paid $3.60 to show.

J is racing at the lowest level this year (Grade C). In the last couple races, he has shown that he is starting a reversal of form. There are others in here with faster lines but his back class and his instinct for racing to the rail should offset that pure speed of the others plus could help our odds on the board.

Race 9: Secret Seeker (# 4) broke slow, closed but came outside in the lane costing him the place. Paid $2.40 to show.

Race 10: Cleo N Holly (# 2) left well, could not keep up the early pace, got bullied before the turn, fell back and never recovered.

She is on my list to bet based on breeding but she has yet to show it. I stick with her for a couple more starts before abandoning ship.

EVENING

Wheeling Island

Race 2: Atascocita Zed (# 3) 3/1 worst of trip but best effort I have seen in a while. This one was slow leaving, then tried to accelerate and was blocked, backed to last, recovered and came flying to be 3rd in the first turn where he was pushed out, he had to recover again, came on to close to 3rd on the backside, tried to come inside the #1 and got cut off, backed up to recover again to close willingly to gain the place. Ever reason to quit, this dog has no quit in him. A major bet back next out. Paid $4.60 to place and $3.00 to show. I usually do not post up losing dogs on Youtube but this one merits it’s posting. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xflWKlgYAU

This guy was simply awesome in his career debut. That effort would put the AA seasoned veterans to shame. Love betting this guy on his way up.

Race 11: Sarreal (# 2) 4/1 left ok, raced mid pack and had little in the lane.

Is racing two classes lower and almost won last out in class. Looks to be top dog entered.

Race 12: Kiowa Kelsey (# 3) 9/2 left with the favorite inside of him, going stride for stride thru the turn, started to lose it on the backside. He was clearly second best at 11/1. This race went in 29:53 (which is faster than AA class today), if not for that huge effort by the favorite, this one would of shined. Follow this up as he looks like the real deal. He paid $7.00 to place and $5.00 to show..

This pup has done very well in the lower classes to get to this level. His first attempt was not as much as I expected. I still think that race was an anomaly and expect his normal effort to come forth here.

Race 1: SJ’s Renegade (# 7) 6/1 got away clean, was 3rd heading into the first turn and lost it in the turn and collided with the pup he was trying to pass. Not today.

Race 5: Kiowa Victory (# 4) 5/1 broke well, was three wide with four across into the turn, was pushed wide, recovered to 3rd, held position. Nice effort for first start. Paid $13.60 to show.

At first look, does not look as impressive as the others in here. I do like the steady improvement and has two siblings that have started their careers here. Kiowa Vancleave has a win and and 2nd in as many starts. Kiowa Villanuava who has only one start and was in a three way photo for the win. This one caught the show.

Race 12: Kiowa Vancleave (# 3) 3/1 broke out third, driving to the lead into the 1st turn, was hung 2 wide whole race, #1 Little Buckaroo gave a valiant effort pushing Vancleave all the way. Both were very determined. Kiowa Vancleave paid $7.20 to win, $3.80 to place and $3.00 to show.

Is racing sharp at this early stage. Love the match up with this class. AMF Gentleman (# 5) is a speedy sort that has hit the board 8 of 12 starts. The two wins were very fast times under 30:00. One would expect this one to have more wins with this many starts. His two wins were from the 5 and 6 trap. Would bet the quin to protect the win money on Kiowa Vancleave.

Victoryland

Race 1: BB’s Yoga (# 5) 10/1 broke even, raced 3rd to the turn, went wide in turn and rest of race. He held position until late in the final turn and tired. Finished 5th.

Yoga has some decent schooling races that appear to be a bit slower than this race will be contested. This one has a sibling, BB’s Yugo who has two wins and two seconds in 4 lifetime starts over this oval. Will be under the public’s radar screen. Hops she races to her brother’s abilities.

Race 7: BB’s Yugo (# 4) 7/2 broke slow, tried to get to the top but was bothered on both sides, was pushed in the turn, gave up on the backside. Was off the board.

Brother to the first race pick. This one is pure early speed. He will again play come and get me with this field.

Race 14: BF Inspecda Gold (# 8) 5/2 broke ok, was 5 wide into the first turn, never a good way to race. Gold was offstrided, recovered for 4th on the backside and disappeared in the pack as they turned home. It was par for the day.

ORANGE PARK

Race 4: GS Dex (# 2) 9/2 broke a little slow, angled out in the first turn, made up some ground but ran wide most of the race. Finished 3rd, Paid $ 3.00to Show.

Has been on my list to bet since he made it to the track. He has gone faster than he is currently. I do believe he is better than he has shown in his last two starts. His sibling is entered to day in the 13th.

Race 7: WW’s Gucci (# 4) 4/1 was 1st or 2nd out the box, came off the rail, let others inside, traffic problems rest of the race. Like he lost his wheels.

Has raced better than most current race. Like all three of these at Orange, they are on my list to bet. If there is one thing about, it has to be consistent. Her best effort brings home the money in this race.

Race 13: GS Liam (# 7) 4/1 broke out the box last, came on to be 5th, 3 wide in the turn, pushed himself in, sat 4th in the turn, came outside and raced wide, closed well to be 3rd. Paid $3.20 to show.

Liam is the brother of Dex who is picked in Race 4 above. This one broke maiden in 2nd start. Do believe this litter will be producing more winners. Got to bet these types back once they win.

Nov 8th. Monday Matinee

Wheeling Downs

Race 1: Packin The Heat (# 2) 3/1

Nothing on this litter in the database but has seen many schooling races where he just rolls them over. A litter from 2006 with same lineage had one superior pup and one that just has once race that he won at first asking in July and then never raced again. That race was down at Southland Park. First timers tend to be front-runners when they score.

Race 3: Dancing Fool (# 2) 15/1

Ships in from Iowa where he broke his maiden in May at Bluffs Run and currently been racing at Dubuque. Those races never tend to break the 30:00 barrier. This one should match up well with these and with that decent schooling race seems fit to be competitive.

---------------------------

Southland Park

Race 3: Cowgirl Elise (# 7/2)

Cowgirl has gone faster than any of these just in her most recent schooling race. One other sibling has made it to the track and has yet to win in three tries. Half siblings to this one have an early graduation date. Let us just hope that this one arrives on time.

Race 4: Bella Nightmare (# 2) 5/2

Just graduated at first asking in one fast time. If repeated, should win handily. Another chalk pup that may be around late is Madison Square (# 4). Think a Cold Punch Ex 2-4 and play a couple trifecta tickets: 2 / 4 / 1,3,7,8.

---------------------------

Orange Park

Race 9: Hallo Wonder Boy (# 6) 5/1

One of those distance races in Class A that give me a headache. I can go with at least half the field if they all get their way out the box. That rarely happens, I am going with a almost as fast greyhound that seems to race his way out of problems. I foresee many road hazards in here. Wonder Boy has enough early speed to be tracking no worse than 4th into the 2nd turn and should have inside position. He may be at odds higher than the morning line at post time.

Race 10: Sugar Time (# 4) 17/1

One of those bet backs. I have followed this one up the ladder and do believe she can race with these given a clean trip. Traffic problems made it really bad last out. Hopefully those around her should be a little slower out the box than she. If she gets on top early, it could be all over. She has a couple brothers who are multiple winners with limited starts. A very strong litter currently and I am waiting for more of them to hit the track. Mayo’s Falco (# 7) was top last out also. Mayo has a ton of speed that is dominate if repeated. It seems every time I pick them from B to A class, they get into road trouble. Personally will love the 4-7 box to hit as if they both clear early, they will draw off.

__________________

Daytona Beach

Race 1: Kissed Farwell (# 7) 3/1

Kissed is racing at her lowest level on the drop down. They took her off the track after two failures in this class and probably had some vet work. They schooled one week later with a fast 30:73, which crushes these. Looks like they have her ready to compete.

Race 10: Night Inferno (# 1)

Night has been racing well except for road problems last two starts in this class B. He is back to the rail where he last won a race. If void of traffic headaches, is fast enough to take it box to wire.

Race 14: AJ Smog Runner (# 7)

Exits last staking in race with speed and know-how in breaking his maiden at first asking by using the inside path and powering to the front to pull away. Class jump may cause some road problems but if he stays away from a collision, he should be able to over come a bump.

Nothing for Monday evening so I can enjoy MNF.

Hi spicytomato:
Not any different than any other kind of racing except there is no one driving (harness) or riding (thoroughbreds) AND best of all, NO JUDGES with Inquiries. Like the old Collosieum in Rome...the first one across the line first..

THe previous posts re: Track Info is the place for all your needs. Like horse racing they have virtual stables (kennels really) that emails you when the greyhound you are waiting for is entered and you get a notice the day after with the results of the race. They offer free pp's and the video streaming is usually found at the individual track's web page.

I start off with my wheeling PP's and use the list to the left for other tracks at this link:
http://www.trackinfo.com/trakdocs/?trackcode=gwd$

For a database,

Personally I was raised with harness racing at the Meadows. During the down at the Meadows, would travel to Wheeling for their half mile harness racing. Occassionally would go up Rt 2 to Chester WVa to what was called Waterfort Park and now Mountaineer. In 1976, Wheeling switched over the puppies. We have gone there since but not as often since the Meadows went to year round racing. Since the online experience has arrived, I can do all three from the comforts of my home.

Speed wins races but not always does the fastest animal win no matter which animal or human for that matter. Try to predict the outcome is the challenge that never fades.

Wheeling Downs

Race 1: Packin The Heat (# 2) 3/1 got away 3rd on the outside of the #1 dog who blew the first turn and put us way wide, recovered a little but had little chance of catching the run away leader.

Nothing on this litter in the database but has seen many schooling races where he just rolls them over. A litter from 2006 with same lineage had one superior pup and one that just has once race that he won at first asking in July and then never raced again. That race was down at Southland Park. First timers tend to be front-runners when they score.

Race 3: Dancing Fool (# 2) 15/1 broke quickly, challenged the early lead by using inside position and started his drive in the first turn, opened up on the back side and drove on to the wire. Paid $17.80, $6.80 and $4.80.

Ships in from Iowa where he broke his maiden in May at Bluffs Run and currently been racing at Dubuque. Those races never tend to break the 30:00 barrier. This one should match up well with these and with that decent schooling race seems fit to be competitive.

---------------------------

Southland Park

Race 3: Cowgirl Elise (# 4) 7/2 left 4th out the box, in traffic tight into the 1st turn, bumped a few times and knocked back, no chance today. Needed more speed to the turn to avoid the trouble.

Cowgirl has gone faster than any of these just in her most recent schooling race. One other sibling has made it to the track and has yet to win in three tries. Half siblings to this one have an early graduation date. Let us just hope that this one arrives on time.

Race 4: Bella Nightmare (# 2) 5/2 broke quick, was challenged early but assumed inside position into the turn, once gained the lead, no looking back. Madison Square (# 4) had a tough trip to close from 5th to 2nd late in the race. Bella paid $4.00 to win, $2.80 to place and $2.20 to show. The cold exacta paid $8.60, The Trifecta 2-4-1 paid $87.00 and the Super 2-4-1-7 came back as $383.80.

Orange Park

Race 9: Hallo Wonder Boy (# 6) 5/1 left the box last as he was bumped soon as he started to run, ended up trailing most of the race. Did race even with the back enders.

Race 10: Sugar Time (# 4) 17/1 No Sugar tonight as she got into a load of trouble as she was not as fast at the gate. Mayo Falco broke strong and headed into the first turn with a nice lead. She raced on to win at 5/1. I had a 50/50 chance and blew it. Oh well there is always tomorrow.

Daytona Beach

Race 1: Kissed Farwell (# 7) 3/1 broke quickly to the lead, led for all but the final step of the race. It was a tough loss in a photo finish to the #8 dog. Paid nicely for across the board as he paid $8.00 Place and $9.40 to show.

Kissed is racing at her lowest level on the drop down. They took her off the track after two failures in this class and probably had some vet work. They schooled one week later with a fast 30:73, which crushes these. Looks like they have her ready to compete.

Race 10: Night Inferno (# 1) broke slow, backed up like he was no longer interested and trailed the field early, came off the rail and raced mid track to where he finished in 6th or 7th. Not a good effort.

Night has been racing well except for road problems last two starts in this class B. He is back to the rail where he last won a race. If void of traffic headaches, is fast enough to take it box to wire.

Race 14: AJ Smog Runner (# 7) broke last, angled for the inside, ended up third going into the turn when he collided and was pushed hard and almost fell, recovered to close up for 5th. All in all, not too bad an effort given the road hazards.

Exits last staking in race with speed and know-how in breaking his maiden at first asking by using the inside path and powering to the front to pull away. Class jump may cause some road problems but if he stays away from a collision, he should be able to over come a bump.

Derby Lane

Race 1: N Bar Sweetie (# 6)

This female is making her lifetime start and is the first of the litter to hit the track. Half siblings are early risers and so is the mom. With the two excellent schooling races on the card, looks like she will be just like her mamma. Has early speed to the turn and the endurance to carry it to the wire.

Race 4: N Bar Designer (# 7)

Full brother to the first race pick. His schooling races are not up his sibling’s efforts but he lost to the same puppy in both races. That puppy might be just a monster. If the sister wins, this one becomes very live.

----------------------

Bluffs Run

Race 3: Mc Pale Moon (# 7) 7/2

Moon has the breeding for early production on the track. Schooling races indicate a increasing of speed and learning how to race. His main rival is the (# 3) Love Like Crazy who has similar tendencies in lineage but is not as fast as Moon.

Race 14: Ticked Off (# 8) 5/2

Ticked Off won at first asking and is now trying it at the next level. Breeding indicates a strong closing animal that is very live in the beginning of their careers. This is from the first litter and she is the first one to hit the track. Her mom won in the top class here plus was stake winner over this oval. Last race was in 2007. Do believe Love Sick Blues will be producing many winners in her new job.

----------------------

Palm Beach

Race 1: Ethereal Triumph (# 3) 5/1

ET had some trouble in his first lifetime start over this oval last out. Since then, his sibling, Ethereal Epistle won his first lifetime start when he got a clean trip. His time was 30:14. If Triumph races like his brother, he would have more than enough speed to leave these ones up the track.

Race 7: Fuzzys D Wade (#4) 4/1

Has been racing well of late. Has won two of last three. Last out, was blocked and still came hard to get 3rd. Clear trip puts him at the wire first.

Race 9: Atascocita Tiera (# 3) 6/1

This girl has finally learned her craft. All 7 pups from this litter made to the track and have won multiple times. What is common with this group is that it takes some time to get them the speed and knowledge to compete. Once they do, like this one, they all are to be feared.

Race 12: Atascocita Tariq (# 4) 3/1

The best of the litter so far and is the sister of Race 9’s greyhound. I may not always be right, but I try to be consistent. This one has won the most races from the whole litter and is 50% from 28 starts at either winning or placing in her contests. Class A is as high as its gets and she has won at the level and can do so again.

Race 14: Atascocita Tana (# 5) 5/1

A third from the litter is trying to break into the top classification. Sisters in Races 9 and 12 would be an indication of this one’s chances tonight.

Race 15: Atascocita Tyra (# 4) 9/1

Might as well as swing for the homerun, sister Tana is also trying to make it to the Class A. Going with all four this day. The only difference is that this one is racing longer than the others. It is either going to be a big day or a bad one.

Race 2: N Bar Sweetie (# 6) broke quick but not quick enough, was 2nd in between puppies going into the turn, bumped from both sides. Not today.

This female is making her lifetime start and is the first of the litter to hit the track. Half siblings are early risers and so is the mom. With the two excellent schooling races on the card, looks like she will be just like her mamma. Has early speed to the turn and the endurance to carry it to the wire.

Race 4: N Bar Designer (# 7) broke 5th out the box but exploded with speed there after to clear the pack prior to the first turn, headed inside and kept himself to a drive to the wire. Paid $17.40 to win, $8.00 to place and $3.40 to show.

Full brother to the first race pick. His schooling races are not up his sibling’s efforts but he lost to the same puppy in both races. That puppy might be just a monster. If the sister wins, this one becomes very live.

Bluffs Run

Race 3: Mc Pale Moon (# 7) 7/2 broke 6th out the box, angled inside to the turn, then moved to the outside into traffic, had no chance from there.

Moon has the breeding for early production on the track. Schooling races indicate a increasing of speed and learning how to race. His main rival is the (# 3) Love Like Crazy who has similar tendencies in lineage but is not as fast as Moon.

Race 14: Ticked Off (# 8) 5/2 outrun early, raced inside with traffic, could not get loose till last turn, closed for 4th.

Palm Beach

Race 1: Ethereal Triumph (# 3) 5/1 left mid pack and was 4 wide into the turn, no good things happen with that trip, he was wiped out hitting the turn, recovered enough to not finish last.

ET had some trouble in his first lifetime start over this oval last out. Since then, his sibling, Ethereal Epistle won his first lifetime start when he got a clean trip. His time was 30:14. If Triumph races like his brother, he would have more than enough speed to leave these ones up the track.

Race 7: Fuzzys D Wade (#4) 4/1 trouble in first turn, bumped hard, thrown back to last, never recovered.

Has been racing well of late. Has won two of last three. Last out, was blocked and still came hard to get 3rd. Clear trip puts him at the wire first.

Race 9: Atascocita Tiera (# 3) 6/1 was bothered from the start of the race to past the first turn. She never hit her best kick until after the wire. Would not be surprised to see this one stretch out in distance soon ala her sister,Tyra.

This girl has finally learned her craft. All 7 pups from this litter made to the track and have won multiple times. What is common with this group is that it takes some time to get them the speed and knowledge to compete. Once they do, like this one, they all are to be feared.

Race 12: Atascocita Tariq (# 4) 3/1 broke slow, went real wide in turn to avoid trouble, closed up the backside still wide, and was wide in the lane when she closed for the show. Paid $3.80 to show.

Race 14: Atascocita Tana (# 5) 5/1 broke slow, little road problems but caught 4th

A third from the litter is trying to break into the top classification. Sisters in Races 9 and 12 would be an indication of this one’s chances tonight.

Race 15: Atascocita Tyra (# 4) 9/1 was the last of the four sisters to run this day and I am glad I went the distance. Tyra left the box well, tracked in 4th out of the first turn, angled inside as she went into third place in the 2nd turn. She closed willingly on the backside to gain 2nd into the final turn and went wide to gain the lead coming out of the last turn and held sway to the wire. One strong effort when I needed it. She paid $29.40 to win, $7.80 to place and $3.60 to show.

Might as well as swing for the homerun, sister Tana is also trying to make it to the Class A. Going with all four this day. The only difference is that this one is racing longer than the others. It is either going to be a big day or a bad one.

Wheeling Matinee

Race 3: Somerset (# 5) 3/1
Somerset is making his 2nd attempt at Class C level. He has been on my puppies watch list so I have to try again. He usually takes two attempts to conquer a class level. Hope that trend continues. He is not one of those front running types but rather more of a tracking or stalking types.

Race 6: Braska Daffy (# 5) 12/1
I love betting these on the double class drop. 2nd attempt at Class B. He was bet down last out and caught the show. He just may be starting to show a reversal of form.

Race 12: Kiowa WW Rivera (# 5) 9/2
Rivera is only making his 2nd lifetime start after a blistering maiden breaking effort. Any where near that effort will have to move him up in class. Connections could of placed him in D but purse money is better at C. They have to think highly of him.

-----------------------------

Southland Matinee
Race 1: Guerrero (# 7) 9/5
The G has been a close to winning at this Class D level in all three of his starts since the schooling prep race. It is just a matter of time that things will fall in his favor.

Race 3: Lookie Lou (# 7) 3/1
Lou is well bred but there is hidden talent in the breeding. The mother, Complete Picture, raced her whole life at Wheeling Downs. She was slow to develop as she had problems with the sprint distance. Once they stretched her out to the Keystone distance, she started to win races. In all, she won 26 times out of 107 races at the longer distances. Lookie Lou has shown some early speed in his two schooling races. We got to watch to see if they stretch him out in the future.

Race 6: Quick N Clean (# 2) 4/1
This guy is making his first lifetime start out of a first time litter of Divulge, who won over 1/3 of her lifetime starts. This one is bred for speed and last schooling indicates the genes took. Like all other maidens, speed can over come a bad trip. We need for this one to break fast and head left.

Race 15: KYZ (# 1) 3/1
Super Sprint Champion returns and gets the prime rail spot. Is faster than all of these and should have his way. Looking for some value in the exotics, I am drawn to Braska Notion (# 8) who caught second to KYZ in the final and is from the same trap (# 8).

Race 18: Trougelz (# 8) 5/2
Going back to the well once more. Seems the only one on this oval with a chance is CT Wild One who is not entered in this race. This one returns as the Sprint Champion.

---------------------------

Orange Park Matinee

Race 3: AJ’s Cookie Time (# ) 6/1
The Cookie has finished 4th in her two only starts in this maiden class. She does possess speed but seems the box is her enemy. Once she learns to break quickly, she will be turning some heads. She has been the public’s choice in those two starts and expect her to garner their support again.

Race 5: Fraulein Nicki (# 1) 5/2
This first time starter is from a mother who was not much of a racer but has produced some speedy greyhounds with Flare Gun as a sire. This one’s sire is Caymen Went, who won 72 of 104 races. That is some win record. This one and its siblings may be the next hot litter on the track. Enters here with two decent schooling races and inside post may be a plus.

Race 9: Seeking Beauty (# 6) 11/1
Beauty has been a pet project of mine that has had road problems the last two times in this class. Going to give her another shot. If she fails to hit the board, she can drop in class next start. Guess I will have her around the next few races, win or lose.

Race 2: Chaz Is The Best (# 7)

Chaz has only two other siblings racing currently, Super Piers, who has 7 starts and just recently has shown some signs of life at Orange Park and Clear Skye who won last out in Maiden over this oval.. It is not only the lineage that sets this one apart from the rest, it is his two schooling races that are simply overpowering efforts. I look forward to see this one and his other siblings hitting the track in the coming days.

Race 3: Fanatic Pete (# 2)

Making his third start after blowing out the Maidens last start. If he can handle the inside box, he can handle these. He is the first of his litter to make the track and his siblings are all girls.

Race 9: Freedom Bank (# 7)

Freedom Bank has shown his ability is his closing speed. This is 2nd start on the stretch out to the longer distance. Would not be surprised to see this pay more for the place than the win.

Race 13: Clear Skye (# 2)

Won last out in a time faster than any in here has shown. Sibling was picked in the first race, Chaz Is The Best. Use that one’s effort to predict this one’s chances.

Orange Park

Race 1: Cool Aqua Blue (# 2) 4/1

Cool has had some road problems in his recent races. He has gained the show position both times since dropping to this Grade C. Third time is a charm.

Race 3: Cruel To Be King (# 2) 3/1

Cruel has two excellent schooling races to her credit. I can find only one sibling that has yet to race by the name of Tango Tessa. This is the first litter from the mom and the sire has some action at the breeding shed. Farloe Black is a relative new comer that may produce some nice results as a sire.

Race 5: Cheyenne Ferrari (#2) 7/2

Been racing on the drop down and just missed last out. Should be back up in class if given a clean trip tonight.

Race 7: Seeyouwheniseeyou (# 4) 8/1

I have followed this litter all the way up to Class A. He trailed the whole race in his first attempt. Another sibling also failed in her attempt at class A, Sugar Time. Do believe in both of these plus the others in the litter. Going to the well once again.

Race 3: Somerset (# 5) 3/1 broke like a wild beast and assumed the lead within two strides, went from Box to Wire with ease. I have never seen this one so determined. Paid $12.20 to win, $4.40 to place and $2.60 to show.

Somerset is making his 2nd attempt at Class C level. He has been on my puppies watch list so I have to try again. He usually takes two attempts to conquer a class level. Hope that trend continues. He is not one of those front running types but rather more of a tracking or stalking types.

Race 6: Braska Daffy (# 5) 12/1 was running before the box opened, think he hurt himself a bit, trailed the field, in the final turn, he started to close and ran up on the 7th place hound and fell back. Not a good day for him.

I love betting these on the double class drop. 2nd attempt at Class B. He was bet down last out and caught the show. He just may be starting to show a reversal of form.

Race 12: Kiowa WW Rivera (# 5) 9/2 broke to the lead and then slowed down as if he stepped on something, was two wide into the turn and was looking to recover with a rush in the final turn when he took a bad step and went backward. He regained his momentum and finished 5th. I hope he came out with minor injuries.

Rivera is only making his 2nd lifetime start after a blistering maiden breaking effort. Any where near that effort will have to move him up in class. Connections could of placed him in D but purse money is better at C. They have to think highly of him.

Race 1: Guerrero (# 7) 9/5 broke fast, assumed the early lead prior to the first turn and never looked back. Went off at 3/5. Paid $3.40 to win, $2.60 to place and $2.20 to show.

The G has been a close to winning at this Class D level in all three of his starts since the schooling prep race. It is just a matter of time that things will fall in his favor.

Race 3: Lookie Lou (# 7) 3/1 broke quickly, raced outside the leader into the turn, pulled along side on the backside, pulled away in the final turn, had to fend off one competitor to the inside late. Paid $5.00 to win, $5.60 to place and $4.80 to show.

Race 6: Quick N Clean (# 2) 4/1 trouble breaking, too much ground to make up. Better luck next week. Off the board.

This guy is making his first lifetime start out of a first time litter of Divulge, who won over 1/3 of her lifetime starts. This one is bred for speed and last schooling indicates the genes took. Like all other maidens, speed can over come a bad trip. We need for this one to break fast and head left.

Racer 8: TJ’s Kabookie (# 2) 7/2 slow out the box, traffic problems in the turn, recovered to close up for 4th and almost gained the show spot.

Missed this one and had to add him to the list as he showed up in my Virtual Kennel. This one is by that new sire Soprano Drive whose offspring have been very live at hitting the board at first asking. Exits two schooling races in fine shape.

Race 15: KYZ (# 1) 3/1 broke slow out the box, raced inside and closed for 3rd. Not at all what I expected from this Super Sprint Champion. Paid $3.40 to show.

Super Sprint Champion returns and gets the prime rail spot. Is faster than all of these and should have his way. Looking for some value in the exotics, I am drawn to Braska Notion (# 8) who caught second to KYZ in the final and is from the same trap (# 8).

Race 18: Trougelz (# 8) 5/2 missed the video…guess he did not fire…finished 3rd, Paid $2.20 for the show. Another champ bites the dust.

Going back to the well once more. Seems the only one on this oval with a chance is CT Wild One who is not entered in this race. This one returns as the Sprint Champion.

Race 3: AJ’s Cookie Time (# 6) 6/1 fast out the box, could not maintain speed, was 5th to the first turn headed inside, benefited greatly from pile up of those in front. Exit turn in 2nd place, remained inside to wire. The race ended in a three-dog photo for the win. This one caught 2nd. Paid $4.80 to place and $7.80 to show.

The Cookie has finished 4th in her two only starts in this maiden class. She does possess speed but seems the box is her enemy. Once she learns to break quickly, she will be turning some heads. She has been the public’s choice in those two starts and expect her to garner their support again.

Race 5: Fraulein Nicki (# 1) 5/2 broke mid pack, used her body to bump rivals into the turn thus gaining the 3rd spot out of the turn, stayed inside closing up for 2nd with about a length short of the win. All in all, was a decent lifetime start. She will be graduating real soon. Paid $3.00 to place and $3.00 to show.

This first time starter is from a mother who was not much of a racer but has produced some speedy greyhounds with Flare Gun as a sire. This one’s sire is Caymen Went, who won 72 of 104 races. Race 2: Chaz Is The Best (# 7) broke with the leaders, drove hard in the lane the first time around to gain 2nd into the turn, headed inside, past the leader, pulled away out of the turn and never looked back. In the words of the announcer, “#7 is an easy winner”. Paid $2.60, $3.20 and $2.20. He is going to be a nice one.

Race 3: Fanatic Pete (# 2) broke the box with the leaders, had inside position into the 1st turn but wanted to run mid track and he wiped himself out. Never recovered to be in the mix.

Making his third start after blowing out the Maidens last start. If he can handle the inside box, he can handle these. He is the first of his litter to make the track and his siblings are all girls.

Race 9: Freedom Bank (# 7) strange race indeed, as the box handler failed to open the box in time, when he did, the lure was out of range of the #7 Freedom Bank. He trailed and never was interested. Bad management to permit that to happen.

Freedom Bank has shown his ability is his closing speed. This is 2nd start on the stretch out to the longer distance. Would not be surprised to see this pay more for the place than the win.

Race 13: Clear Skye (# 2) broke slow, went wide into the turn without being forced, ended up heading back to the rail on the backside and come the rail in the stretch. Finished 6th I believe. Look ahead to better days ahead.

Won last out in a time faster than any in here has shown. Sibling was picked in the first race, Chaz Is The Best. Use that one’s effort to predict this one’s chances.

Orange Park

Race 1: Cool Aqua Blue (# 2) 4/1 broke fast, ran 2nd in between rivals into the turn, set his sights on the # 5 dog in the lead, he went on the chase, was outside of him racing even coming out of the turn, pulled away. Paid $8.60, $5.40 and $3.60

Cool has had some road problems in his recent races. He has gained the show position both times since dropping to this Grade C. Third time is a charm.

Race 3: Cruel To Be King (# 2) 3/1 broke with the #5 and # 8 three wide abreast, right behind was the #4 with #6 and #7 beside him, all 6 three wide two deep hit the first turn, Cruel to be King hugged the rail and garnered some distance between him and the pack, kept to his task and won easily. Paid $4.00, $2.80 and $2.40.

Cruel has two excellent schooling races to her credit. I can find only one sibling that has yet to race by the name of Tango Tessa. This is the first litter from the mom and the sire has some action at the breeding shed. Farloe Black is a relative new comer that may produce some nice results as a sire.

Race 5: Cheyenne Ferrari (#2) 7/2 broke with the leaders, assumed inside position sitting 4th into the turn, saved ground and passed all three rivals in and coming out of the last turn, got up prior to the wire. Won in a three-way photo. Paid $5.40, $3.20 and $2.40

Been racing on the drop down and just missed last out. Should be back up in class if given a clean trip tonight.

Race 7: Seeyouwheniseeyou (# 4) 8/1 broke 3rd out the box, was bothered, took back a little, was 5th using the inside path in the turn, out run the rest of the race, seems he is not Class A just yet. I may have to wait until he drops down to B and regains some confidence.

I have followed this litter all the way up to Class A. He trailed the whole race in his first attempt. Another sibling also failed in her attempt at class A, Sugar Time. Do believe in both of these plus the others in the litter. Going to the well once again.

Wednesday Evening

Daytona Beach

Race 2: Chaz Is The Best (# 7) broke with the leaders, drove hard in the lane the first time around to gain 2nd into the turn, headed inside, past the leader, pulled away out of the turn and never looked back. In the words of the announcer, “#7 is an easy winner”. Paid $2.60, $3.20 and $2.20. He is going to be a nice one.

November 11th

Thursday Evening

Southland

Race 3: KL’s Billy (# 1) 7/2 Billy is the 2nd of this litter to make it to the races. Current litter sibling won at first asking over this oval. KL’s Paul Can is also entered later on this card. Has full brothers and sisters from another litter but same lineage that have produced over half the litter to the Open / AA and Stake competition levels. Last schooling race indicated some heart and knowledge of using the inside path. Love this one a lot. Hope the siblings are all winners.

Race 5: CT Buck Wild (# 3) 9/2

Buck Wild is one fast puppy who seems to win every other start of late. This is good week. He beat Trougelz two back which is saying a lot.

Race 8: Speedy Sputnik (# 3) 5/1

Speedy is by one of those new sires that are starting to race through out the sport. Soprano Drive is very good with his first time starters. Schooling races do not look like a winner but his effort in troubled races does look like a positive attribute. Hope he gets clear early and never looks back.

Race 12: KL’s Paul Can (# 1) 5/1

Paul Can is going for two in a row in as many starts. Only unknown factor is if he can handle the inside post. His maiden win was from the outside. Speed wins races and this one can flat out fly around this oval. Hopefully his brother won the first race of this card.

Orange Park

Race 2: May’s Flora (# 2) 5/2
May’s Flora just missed last out. Her forte is her early speed. It appears it is a two-puppy race to the wire. Do believe she will be on the outside trying to run down the (# 1) Rockstar Deacon. Speed wins races and this one does possess some speed.

Race 7: Paddy Whacker (# 3) 9/2

Has proven that he belongs at this Class A level in past races. Exits last with a troubled line. His competition may permit him a chance at a clean trip.

Victoryland

Race 7: Pat C Lookout (# 2) 9/2

This one might get overlooked (no pun intended). Seems this one has problems from outside box (post positions). He gets the same trap box as his last win and that time is fastest in this field. If he gets his way, they will not catch him.

Race 9: PTL Enforcer (# 8) 8/1

Enforcer has won from this trap before earlier this season. Looks to be right in the mix of things from start to finish. He is probably our best shot at double digit returns.

Race 12: Shawn’s Dream (# 6) 10/1

This one is all about breeding. Has two other siblings racing currently that have won. Reward Bob won at first asking at Derby Lane in St Pete. He has not won since. His other brother also races at Derby Lane. Reward Sammie did manage to win in his 3rd start. I feel the level of competition at Victoryland is suspect when Derby Lane types run here.

Nov 12th Friday

Wheeling Island Matinee

Race 10: D’s Hot Lips (# 1) 7/1

D’s has seen better fields than this. Last time dropping down to the C level, he went box to wire to win by 6 widening lengths. This one has raced no lower than this level and has competed at AA class.

Race 11: Hi Noon Hero (# 1) 7/2

Hero is one decorated puppy. He was designated as An All American Greyhound for 2009. Since he first left the box, he was a winner. He has won about 30 percent of the races he entered. Now as he is getting to the end of a great career, he still has plenty in the tank. This is his third start on the class drop. I love betting these types as they usually get over looked from the public. He is faster than any entered and his closing style should permit him a clear shot at the win.

Race 15: Gable Eddie (# 7) 9/2

Eddie is one erratic performer. His best here 29:21 is simply awesome but he is not consistently running at that pace. This is a tough race to win and I probably should not even attempt to wager on it, I am drawn to that speedy record in hopes of it coming back at a price. Do believe this one will not be the favorite and might offer the best returns on the afternoon if he connects.

Race 18: Atascocita Zoya (# 7) 7/1

Zoya is the brother of Zed who is one tough customer. This lightly raced pup has yet to reach the pinnacle of his development. A great upside of potential exists as he has the same genetic makeup of his brother Zed. Many times these get overlooked on their way up which gives us a chance at a decent price at the windows.

Wheeling Island Friday Evening

Race 1: Kiowa Villanueva (# 7) 7/1

KV did race huge in her first attempt at this sport. She assumed a great racing posture and used his best kick for late and almost got up. She has a brother who has won twice all ready. His name is Kiowa Vancleave. I am thinking about key wheeling in the Daily Double unless I can find something we can play heavier upon.

Race 3: Black Magic Bonz (# 7) 3/1

Bonz is one of those bet backs from a lineage point of perspective. This litter has multiple winners who are competing currently over this oval. This one loves the outside posts where he is less likely to meet up with traffic.

Race 13: Atascocita Zuri (# 7)

Zuri has shown little since shipping up from Southland Park in Arkansas. She has a brother Zed who I am respect very much. If any of that breeding decides to show up, she can light up this tote board at some double-digit prices. Like most times betting these, you have high odds with low probability. Bet lightly unless you are up on the day.

Race 15: Bella Udi (# 7) 4/1

Is one of the top open company greyhounds on these grounds. Although winning lately has been a little tougher, this one is always in the hunt race in and race out. It is just a matter of time before he gets back to being top dog.

Daytona Beach

Race 7: Ida’s Power (# 5)

Ida’s Power is one fast puppy and is best when is not pinned along the rail. She needs room to motor. Last time at this trap, wired them in her personal best time.

Race 12: MW’s Brisco (# 6)

Brisco has the early speed needed to compete at this level. On times, that speed is becomes overpowering on this oval. This trap gives him more room to get loose early to use that speed.

Victoryland

Race 1: Lennon Sister (# 1) 5/2

LS is from the same litter that produced a winner at first asking in Lookie Lou. The mother, Complete Picture was on that produced only after stretching out and turned out to be quite a campaigner. Phoenix Nikona (# 7) appears to be the race leader that Lennon Sister will be going after. A 1-7 exacta looks like the bet here.

Southland

Race 3: K’s Bruce (# 3) 4/1

Is one of my bet backs. This one has some major road problems last out. Think he may enjoy this post more than last. He still needs to make it to the turn without interference to be effective. Also entered is Monkey Faced Bonz (# 8). He is a sibling to proven performers at Wheeling Downs. Would not be surprised to see this one on the engine if Bruce gets into road problems again.

Race 8: KL’s Tasha (# 5) 5/2

Tasha is from a litter that is currently hitting the track. Brother’s KL’s Billy, Angus and Paul Can are on my radar. These are the one’s to watch.

Matinee

Wheeling Island

Race 1: Misty Day Bones (# 6) 4/1

Has done nothing but burn up my money since hitting the track. Siblings are strong contenders over this surface. Hoping I guess to see it appear soon.

Race 6: Atascocita Capri (# 2) 4/1

Capri is lightly raced greyhound from a successful litter that has produced two sisters and one brother with multiple wins in the beginning of their careers. All of them are racing at Palm Beach. This one previously race in Arkansas at Southland Park.

Race 7: Kiowa Kelsey (# 1) 7/2

Kelsey is one of those bet backs from previous selected greyhounds. This one has siblings currently racing at Derby Lane. Kiowa Kayla has won 3 of 4 lifetime races.

Brother Kyle goes Thursday or Friday this week, I forget the track.

Race 8: Touch The Sky (# 1) 7/1

On first appearance, he does not look like much. I do recall this one racing at Daytona Beach earlier this year. His brothers race there and a couple of them race at Wheeling Downs. Gabe Hammer Curl is probably the best of the litter so far. Sky is not facing much and should do well in here. Do not think the locals at the Island will recall who his brother happens to be. The Hammer is one of my favorite three top pups racing today.

Race 10: Kiowa Vancleave (# 6) 9/2

Da’ Van has done nothing more than turn heads since hitting this oval. He uses his early speed to avoid any traffic problems, as he heads on down the highway. He is facing a little tougher field but he seems to go as fast as he needs to go to win. Think he has a lot more in the tank. I hope the public goes elsewhere with their cash.

Race 12: WW’s Cowboys (# 2) 3/1

The Cowboys have been my selections for his two races so far run. He has shown that Class M and D were too easy for him. Do believe he can win at levels higher than this C class today. If he gains the lead early, he will not look back. His main rival is also one of my list puppies to play. Thera Of Ruckus (# 8) will get her shot at the top pick here. Really do think the public will support her more than Cowboy. It will be a battle no less, and be worth the price of admission (at Wheeling, its free).

Race 15: Rico’s Kwanza (# 4) 5/1

Rico is a shipper from downstate at Tri State. What is interesting with this one, is that he usually races in AA class and runs shorter than this mid range distance Stake that is in its 1st leg. Looking back over his career, he did meet up with Wuzinyourwallet down there and finished a strong 2nd in the elim and 4th in the final to the same dog in that stake race. Their distance is 677 yards while today’s distance is 678, roughly the same. Could be a sleeper of sorts when the betting windows close.

Daytona Beach

Race 7: Got The Power (# 7)

Power was my top pick when he drop down to Class B and I left him alone until today. He has shown he can be right there in this class with his two 3rd’s since racing back up in A. The others in here may be a little faster but using trip handicapping, I do believe there exist a high probability of some traffic jams that should benefit his closing style of racing. His main rivals #1 and # 3 look to hook up hard in the first turn and who knows what will that produce with the pack.

Race 12: Gilded Sherry (# 6)

Sherry is on top of her game currently and is seeking her 4th win in a row in this TA class. Her forte is early and dominating speed. There are a couple pups in here that will test her early but they fade by the way. I am looking to Undo’s Mama Mia (# 2) for the under part key to the exotic tickets. Seems this one will be well place to close past the tiring rivals to Sherry.

Race 13: J’s Radio (# 1)

J’s has faced better than this but recent form did hit bottom a couple races back. He seems to have found a new life and looks to start climbing his way back up the class ladder. His last start was a win in a time that won be competitive in the Class A level, today’s opponents are Class D. He is to be considered Locked, Cocked and Ready to Fire.

Race 15: Charm My Way (# 1)

Made my list earlier in the year and has failed to fire since winning his maiden. Looks to be the best of a weak field. Inside post is a major plus.

Thursday Evening

Southland

Race 3: KL’s Billy (# 1) 7/2 broke well, was 2nd to the #2 dog who raced a little off the rail. Billy raced inside, closed up the backside and passed inside the leader prior to the last turn and pulled away. Paid $4.40, $2.80 and $2.20.

Billy is the 2nd of this litter to make it to the races.

Race 5: CT Buck Wild (# 3) 9/2 broke hard, out-dueled the #1 for the early lead, headed to the rail and wired them home. Paid $4.00, $4.60 and $2.60.

Buck Wild is one fast puppy who seems to win every other start of late. This is the good week. He beat Trougelz two back which is saying a lot.

Race 8: Speedy Sputnik (# 3) 5/1 broke quickest of all, had the early lead with his first step, headed inside to the turn and went on to the wire. Speedy paid $10.40, $4.40 and $2.20.

Speedy is by one of those new sires that are starting to race through out the sport. Soprano Drive is very good with his first time starters. Schooling races do not look like a winner but his effort in troubled races does look like a positive attribute. Hope he gets clear early and never looks back.

Race 12: KL’s Paul Can (# 1) 5/1 broke clean, assumed the lead in short order, kept close to the rail through out. Should be live next wrung on the class ladder. Paid $4.80, $3.00 and $2.40.

Paul Can is going for two in a row in as many starts. Only unknown factor is if he can handle the inside post. His maiden win was from the outside. Speed wins races and this one can flat out fly around this oval. Hopefully his brother won the first race of this card.

Orange Park

Race 2: May’s Flora (# 2) 5/2 left alertly, drove inside to the front before the turn and paced on to the wire. Paid $4.80, $3.00 and $2.40

May’s Flora just missed last out. Her forte is her early speed. It appears it is a two-puppy race to the wire. Do believe she will be on the outside trying to run down the (# 1) Rockstar Deacon. Speed wins races and this one does possess some speed.

Race 7: Paddy Whacker (# 3) 9/2 broke timidly, outrun into the turn, closed on the outside late to gain 4th place. I expected more of him.

Has proven that he belongs at this Class A level in past races. Exits last with a troubled line. His competition may permit him a chance at a clean trip.

Victoryland

Race 7: Pat C Lookout (# 2) 9/2 the tote board went from 4/1 to 6/5 as the “windows closed” bell rang, ended up at 3/2. Pat broke fast, cleared early, wired them. No doubt about his loving this trap #2. Paid $5.00 to win, $6.00 to o place and $4.80 to show.

This one might get overlooked (no pun intended). Seems this one has problems from outside box (post positions). He gets the same trap box as his last win and that time is fastest in this field. If he gets his way, they will not catch him.

Race 9: PTL Enforcer (# 8) 8/1 whole field broke fast, 8 across, with this one about third at a point half the way to the turn. PTL kept driving until he gained the lead right before the first turn, headed inside and drew away on this field. Paid $7.20, $3.40 and $4.00. It was one determined effort.

Enforcer has won from this trap before earlier this season. Looks to be right in the mix of things from start to finish. He is probably our best shot at double digit returns.

Race 12: Shawn’s Dream (# 6) 10/1 broke ok, backed up to last early, trailed till late, and passed two disinterested puppies in the lane. Guess I know now why he is not racing at Derby Lane.

The Matinee races were posted previously on this page for Saturday 13th.

Nov. 13th

Saturday Evening

Wheeling Island

Race 7: Kelsos Lab Top (# 1) 5/2

This half sister to Kelsos Rockaway has taken more time to reach this Class A level than the Rock. Seems this one needed to stretch out a longer distance to be effective. Last three races (though at lower class) have been impressive. Hope the rise in class helps out in the odds department.

Race 10: End Of Story (# 7) 4/1

Story won the 10 Iowa Breeder’s Cup two back at Dubuque. Shipped over here and was a game 3rd in this class. Last Nov (2009) saw this one ship in from Stake company at Dubuque but was not as effective there but was here. He won three times in Class A before heading back to Iowa. This is the winter home. End of Story returns to Wheeling in better shape and is one to be used in all exotics.

Race 13: WP’s Cameo (# 2) 5/2

Could not last to Cry Case (# 7) last week though setting track record distance fractions. Do believe with the colder nights than days, the fractions will be slower and WP (Winning Puppy) should be able to hold on for the win. As a back, bet the quinella 2-7 (which last week paid like $4 and change). They are that good. 10cent super 2,7 with 2,7 with all and all will cost $3.00 and then you can hope for some longshots to come in underneath.

Southland Park

Race 3: WW Kay Starburst (# 6) 9/2

Love this litter with its early graduating class. Siblings at Palm Beach WW Kay Gum Drops and WW Kay Snickers both have won three times so far. Third sibling, WW Kay Hershey has only one start with a 3rd place finish over the Palm Beach oval. This one enters with two major schooling races that indicate both fitness and ability to race along the rail. Love puppies that race inside.

Race 8: KL’s Rockin Rita (# 1) 9/1

This litter has produced three that won at first asking regardless of their schooling races. KL’s Billy, Angus and Paul Can are the ones that I recall plus there is Tasha which is entered but yet to race at the time of this writing. KL’s Paul Can also won back with a double class jump to Class C on Thursday night.

Race 9: KL’s Angus (# 1) 7/2

Is a brother of the Race 8 listed above. Both Billy and Paul Can won from the #1 post on Thursday night. Without regard to the competition, this one is double jumped to the Class C as was Paul Can.

Race 10: PMB Freespirit (# 3) 7/1

Freespirit makes first attempt at B level on the double class drop. She actually showed some signs of life in his most recent start in Class A. A repeat of that time puts this one with the fastest in here. The # 1 and # 6 also fit the criteria with their drops also. Ex key 3 over 1 and 6 is what I might end up playing. Underneath her, I like both Kiowa Adara Art (# 4) and Shorty’s Nana (# 3) as they both will be in the pack with lack kicks in the stretch.

Orange Park

Race 7: May’s Falco (# 7) 5/2

Falco has worked her way up from D level without missing a beat. Getting to the front in short order is something that she picked up during that streak. I went against her last out which was her first time in Class A. I will not make that mistake again. Speed wins races, May’s Falco has a ton of speed.

Race 11: Kiowa Vanessa (# 3) 4/1

Seems to be strong every other start. This is the good start. Has shown the lowest times in recent races. She tends to favor those inside trap numbers (post positions).

Daytona Beach

Race 3: Continental Kid (# 3)

Kid is one of those “every other race” type greyhound. Has won three out of the last 6. One thing he has shown is that once he clears to the lead, he never looks back. Getting to the lead in those odd numbered races is the problem. This is his good week.

Race 8: Naughty N Nice (# 3)

Nice did not fare well against the Class C types the first time she met them. Two troubled lines sandwiched around a closing effort did not work out well. She is best when she gets free to the front. Looking at those around her, I feel that she can leave without too much problem this time and with the speed she set last week against lesser should permit her to hold on to that lead.

Race 11: Docket Call (# 6)

Drops back down to Grade D for this encounter. He has been on my list of puppies to watch and with the drop down, makes this one to watch. The one I fear is Hans On Deck (# 8) who seems to be a speedy sort though he backed up a little in the race after he broke his maiden. I expected him to go forward a bit as he is lightly raced. Guess I would bet Docket on top of the key exotics while using Hans on the under part of them.

Nov 12th Friday Results

Wheeling Island Matinee

Race 10: D’s Hot Lips (# 1) 7/1 broke 5th out the box, raced mid pack and went wide into turn, traffic problems on the backstretch caused him to move 3 wide, closed up for 4th. All in all, was a decent effort given the trip. Would of hit the board with clean sailing.

D’s has seen better fields than this. Last time dropping down to the C level, he went box to wire to win by 6 widening lengths. This one has raced no lower than this level and has competed at AA class.

Race 11: Hi Noon Hero (# 1) 7/2 broke better than normal, bumped back to 7th before the first turn, angled out to mid track, put in one furious drive to catch the leader and go on by, in the words of the announcer, “What a burst of speed by the One”. Paid $4.20, $3.20 and $2.40

Race 15: Gable Eddie (# 7) 9/2 broke with the front runners, 5 in all, he was 3wide of 4 abreast to the first turn, bumper and rattled in the turn, recovered to close very wide in the backside and ran into race traffic that slowed his progress. He did display some very speedy brushes that I have to bet back on this one as if he had a clean trip, would of won easy. Finished 4th.

Race 18: Atascocita Zoya (# 7) 7/1 broke 3rd out the box, raced 4th to the turn outside the 3rd place hound, raced wide and backed up to 5th. No excuses, not up to the task today.

Race 1: Kiowa Villanueva (# 7) 7/1 broke quickly, drove to the lead prior to the first turn, led to the wire but seemed to wait for those behind her to catch up. One puppy raced outside of him and one raced inside of him making it closer than it needed to be. Paid nicely, Win $23.80, Place 5.00 and $2.80 to show. The Early Daily Double was 7-8 and worth $82.00.

Race 3: Black Magic Bonz (# 7) 3/1 went off at 7/5. Stumbled coming out of the box, was 8th and interfered with the 7th place dog before the first turn. He did have some traffic problems on the backside where he was blocked near the tote board. He did recover enough to close to be 5th I think but do believe he is worth a bet back.

Bonz is one of those bet backs from a lineage point of perspective. This litter has multiple winners who are competing currently over this oval. This one loves the outside posts where he is less likely to meet up with traffic.

Race 13: Atascocita Zuri (# 7) broke badly, used a lot of energy to catch the pack before the first turn, ended up 6 wide in the turn, stayed wide most of the race but did manage to close in the process. There is some signs of life in this one. Definitely worth a bet back next couple starts. Will be lighting up the tote board. Finished 4th.

Race 15: Bella Udi (# 7) 4/1 broke well but could not hold his speed, was next to last into the first turn and was pushed or bumped off stride to the outside. Did not make up any appreciable ground the rest of the race. May be a while before I entertain any thoughts of betting this one.

Is one of the top open company greyhounds on these grounds. Although winning lately has been a little tougher, this one is always in the hunt race in and race out. It is just a matter of time before he gets back to being top dog.

Daytona Beach

Race 7: Ida’s Power (# 5) broke well but was impeded by the 6 dog who run across her early after the break, tried to recover and was wiped out in the first turn, only good thing I can say, she came again and raced along the rail to finish last but with the pack.

Ida’s Power is one fast puppy and is best when is not pinned along the rail. She needs room to motor. Last time at this trap, wired them in her personal best time.

Race 12: MW’s Brisco (# 6) broke quickest, assume command and drove off. Late money knocked down his price. Paid $5.60, $3.60 and $2.60

Brisco has the early speed needed to compete at this level. On times, that speed is becomes overpowering on this oval. This trap gives him more room to get loose early to use that speed.

Victoryland

Race 1: Lennon Sister (# 1) 5/2 broke quickly, outgunned three others to the turn, assumed the lead entering the turn and paced on home. Paid $7.40, $5.80 and $2.80. Did not think of it, but, the 2nd half of the double was not covered.

The #7 dog was interfered with and thrown wide in the first turn. Never really was able close enough to be effective.

Southland

Race 3: K’s Bruce (# 3) 4/1 broke poorly, was shuffled back, raced inside to close to 4th in the 1st turn, had trouble with the 3rd place puppy as that one was not giving up the inside and this one closed up for 3rd when clearance existed. Might of garnered the place if tipped outside in the lane but I rather have them use the inside as those types benefit more often than hinder themselves. Paid $2.60 for the show.

Race 8: KL’s Tasha (# 5) 5/2 joined her siblings in winning at first asking. She was not as quick at the gate but as 2nd place into the turn, made a move to the rail inside of the leader where they exchanged strides to the backside where she eventually pulled away. Nice start to this litter. Paid $4.20, $3.80 and $2.40.

Tasha is from a litter that is currently hitting the track. Brother’s KL’s Billy, Angus and Paul Can are on my radar. These are the one’s to watch.

Palm Beach

Race 1: Sonic Trent (# 6) 3/1

Is the first of the 2nd litter to make it to the track. Previous litter produced early graduation types with a few multiple wins right out the box at Bluffs Run in Iowa. Enters this contest with two excellent schooling races. This track is very kind to front end types.

Race 12: It’s a Phenomenon (# 1) 2/1

Has current conditioning, speed and post position in his corner. Has raced under 30:00 in his last five races (tops in this field). Only non-winner was a 2nd place in a stake race. Should be odds on at post time.

Orange Park

Race 3: Rockdown Jenn (# 1) 2/1

Jenn is a first lifetime starter with two decent schooling races that show some speed and savvy. Only one other sibling from this litter listed in database. That one races at Wheeling and was bumped off stride in the turn in its only race.

Race 4: Cruel To Be Kind (# 6) 9/2

Cruel is one of those bet backs. This one is all about quickness and speed. Looks to try to out duel the competition on the front end. You got to go with them until they can go no further.

Race 8: Seeking Beauty (# 4) 8/1

Has had bad racing luck in Class B and now has dropped down against lesser. This just may brave her up enough to permit her speed to carry her on. She is much faster than these as long as she gets to run without getting bumped off her game.

Wheeling Island

Race 1: Kiowa Kay Karl (# 4) 3/1

Is the first of this litter to hit the track. Schooling races indicate a fast learning curve and heart. There are many unknown factors with these youngsters as three others are first time starters. Lineage is not much help as none have early graduating types in their histories. Going by schooling races alone on this one.

Race 2: Atascocita Zed (# 6) 3/1

Zed had the worst trip possible and did an excellent job in trying to overcome three different adversities. He jogs with a clean trip.

Race 4: CTW Grand Torino (# 2) 3/1

Torino has made it to the top classification. He did not disappoint last start as the top dog. His speed is commanding if given a clean trip. Main competition is the #1 for the early lead. If he gets by him, it will be smooth sailing.

Race 5: Kiowa WW Repp (# 8) 7/2

Repp is from a the litter that produced early graduating siblings that raced over this oval. Romeo and Rivera both have done well and with the schooling races listed, this one fits the mold.

Race 10: CTW Diplomat (# 6) 5/1

Diplomat has one start over the oval. Was unbeatable in Alabama at Birmingham. He seems to prefer more the outside trap (box post positions).

Race 16: Hail Storm Bones (# 7) 5/1

Makes her third attempt at Class B pups. Has early speed that can be very effective. Problem is that she is not as consistent as others in her litter. If she gets loose on the engine, she can do some serious damage at any level.

Matinee Results

Wheeling Island

Race 1: Misty Day Bones (# 6) 4/1 raced remarkably well as she left hard to gain the early lead that she maintained till a step before the wire. She was challenged every step of the race. She just came up inches short of the win. That breeding finally rose to the occasion. Paid $9.20 to place and $5.20 for the show.

Has done nothing but burn up my money since hitting the track. Siblings are strong contenders over this surface. Hoping I guess to see it appear soon.

Race 6: Atascocita Capri (# 2) 4/1 broke bad, backed up early, in traffic and bumped around in the first turn, still managed to close through traffic on the backside to garner the final spot on the superfecta ticket (4th). Guess the best explanation would be “Despite trouble”.

Capri is lightly raced greyhound from a successful litter that has produced two sisters and one brother with multiple wins in the beginning of their careers. All of them are racing at Palm Beach. This one previously race in Arkansas at Southland Park.

Race 7: Kiowa Kelsey (# 1) 7/2 broke well enough to gain the early lead, did not take the first turn as close as previous trips and was passed on the inside by the eventual winner. Managed to save the place. Paid $ to place and $ to show.

Kelsey is one of those bet backs from previous selected greyhounds. This one has siblings currently racing at Derby Lane. Kiowa Kayla has won 3 of 4 lifetime races.

Brother Kyle goes Thursday or Friday this week, I forget the track.

Race 8: Touch The Sky (# 1) 7/1 sometimes what you see is what you get. Sky is not much. Finished 7th. No excuse.

Race 10: Kiowa Vancleave (# 6) 9/2 broke with the leaders early, blew the first turn wide, and never recovered.

Race 12: WW’s Cowboys (# 2) 3/1 Could not break fast enough as the #1 put him back on his heels, tried to close up but came up short. Finished 3r, paid $2.60 to show.

Thera Of Ruckus broke well and set her sites on the breakaway leader #1, she ran one determined race to get up late. Paid $5.80 , $3.00 and $2.40

Race 15: Rico’s Kwanza (# 4) 5/1 broke fast and outgunned three others to gain the 2nd spot in the first turn. This one drove to the inside of the leader coming out of the turn and never looked back. Ran a very respectable 37:75 in this win. Paid $6.40, $3.80 and $2.60.

Race 7: Got The Power (# 7) broke quickly, led most of the way, barred off the rail in the lane and passed up for the win late. Paid $4.00 to place and $3.40 to show.

Race 12: Gilded Sherry (# 6) broke well, was 2nd into the turn, tried passing on the inside and was cut off coming out of the turn, tried again on the backside and same results, then angled outside the leader and cleared in the last turn. Held on for the win. Paid $4.40 , $5.40 and $2.40.

Race 13: J’s Radio (# 1) outrun early and late. Disappointment city. Expected a lot more effort out of this one.

J’s has faced better than this but recent form did hit bottom a couple races back. He seems to have found a new life and looks to start climbing his way back up the class ladder. His last start was a win in a time that would be competitive in the Class A level, today’s opponents are Class D. He is to be considered Locked, Cocked and Ready to Fire.

Race 15: Charm My Way (# 2) no good, no factor.

Made my list earlier in the year and has failed to fire since winning his maiden. Looks to be the best of a weak field. Inside post is a major plus.

HOPE TONIGHT IS BETTER THAN THIS AFTERNOON!

Here is to tomorrow....glad today is over..lol

Nov. 13th

Saturday Evening

Wheeling Island

Race 7: Kelsos Lab Top (# 1) 5/2 was a big disappointment. Broke ok, but was outrun early. Dropped back to last and never had a chance. Finished 7th.

This half sister to Kelsos Rockaway has taken more time to reach this Class A level than the Rock. Seems this one needed to stretch out a longer distance to be effective. Last three races (though at lower class) have been impressive. Hope the rise in class helps out in the odds department.

Race 10: End Of Story (# 7) 4/1 broke ok, was blocked by the 8 trying to get to the rail, pinched back but headed to the inside in the first turn and saved some ground, was closing in on 2nd place up the backside when trouble arose again. The last problem happened in the lane. Three problems on the track and still was in a photo for the show position (which he won). Show paid $3.60.

Story won the 2010 Iowa Breeder’s Cup two back at Dubuque.

Race 13: WP’s Cameo (# 2) 5/2 did not break her usual rocket style to the front, actually went from 2nd to 4th and closed up for 3rd. Cry Case got to be the best at this distance and I will not pick against him again. Cameo paid $3.00 to show. While Cry Case (# 7) paid $13.60, $8.00 and $2.60.

Could not last to Cry Case (# 7) last week though setting track record distance fractions. Do believe with the colder nights than days, the fractions will be slower and WP (Winning Puppy) should be able to hold on for the win. As a back-up, betting the quinella 2-7 (which last week paid like $4 and change). They are that good. 10-cent super 2,7 with 2,7 with all and all will cost $3.00 and then you can hope for some longshots to come in underneath.

Southland Park

Race 3: WW Kay Starburst (# 6) 9/2 left well, could not gain the lead, tried to pass on the inside and was cutoff. Ended up getting blocked in the last turn also. Still raced a good effort. Finished 3rd and paid $6.20 to show.

Race 8: KL’s Rockin Rita (# 1) 9/1 appears not be as fast as her siblings at this early stage of her career. She broke fine but was outrun to the turn. Still she raced with her head trying to save ground on the inside and actually closed some lengths in the stretch to be in the photo for 4th. She won that photo. She went off at 5/1. Could be one that either develops late or needs to stretch out.

Race 9: KL’s Angus (# 1) 7/2 broke slow also, have to wonder if there is a track problem on the inside box numbers tonight. They usually gain momentum faster than tonight’s experience. Still race good by trying to stay inside. Finished 3rd, Paid $3.20 to Show.

Is a brother of the Race 8 listed above. Both Billy and Paul Can won from the #1 post on Thursday night. Without regard to the competition, this one is double jumped to the Class C as was Paul Can.

Race 10: PMB Freespirit (# 3) 7/1 broke ok, was sitting 4th, two wide into the turn and was clipped, never recovered from the experience. They finished 1-4-7-2.

Orange Park

Race 7: May’s Falco (# 7) 5/2 broke a little slower out the box but drove very hard to gain the lead prior to the first turn. Took over and never looked back. Paid $7.00, $4.60 and $3.00.

Falco has worked her way up from D level without missing a beat. Getting to the front in short order is something that she picked up during that streak. I went against her last out which was her first time in Class A. I will not make that mistake again. Speed wins races, May’s Falco has a ton of speed.

Race 11: Kiowa Vanessa (# 3) 4/1 broke slow, ended up 6th out the box, closed up to assume inside position into the turn and ended up 2nd chasing the even money favorite who had an insurmountable lead. Raced well in a losing cause. Closing odds were 8/1 on her. She paid $5.20 to place and $3.60 to show.

Seems to be strong every other start. This is the good start. Has shown the lowest times in recent races. She tends to favor those inside trap numbers (post positions).

Daytona Beach

Race 3: Continental Kid (# 3) broke mid pack which had me worried a bit but no one on either side veered into his path. He was clear to gear up and that he did. He managed to gain the 2nd position into the first turn and set his sights on the leader. He did not look to the inside but rather moved a little to the outside and pulled along side the #4 pup, looked him in the eye and went on bye. No one catches this one after he gains the lead. This is his first Class A victory. Paid $10.00, $3.60 and $4.20.

Kid is one of those “every other race” type greyhound. Has won three out of the last 6. One thing he has shown is that once he clears to the lead, he never looks back. Getting to the lead in those odd numbered races is the problem. This is his good week.

Race 8: Naughty N Nice (# 3) did not fire. I cannot believe this one can read the race form and knows she is in Class C. There is no excuse for that lack luster effort. I am at a loss as to why she is so unpredictable. Believe she finished 6th or 7th.

Race 11: Docket Call (# 6) broke well, was in between two top runners into the turn, ended up surviving for 2nd place to the 8 up the back. Actually looked like he had another gear in the lane but could not pass up the 8 and the #1 dog passed all of them up. Docket Call finished 3rd $2.10.

Palm Beach

Race 1: Sonic Trent (# 6) 3/1 broke a little slow, started to drive to the front but was hung three puppies wide for most of the race. Did well given the poor trip and this being the first lifetime start. Finished 3rd, paid $2.60 to show.

Is the first of the 2nd litter to make it to the track. Previous litter produced early graduation types with a few multiple wins right out the box at Bluffs Run in Iowa. Enters this contest with two excellent schooling races. This track is very kind to front end types.

Race 12: It’s a Phenomenon (# 1) 2/1 I have to admit, it was not pretty. Raced began with a even start, they were 4 across going into the turn with this one having inside position. Instead of outrunning the opposition in the turn, he decided they were running to close to him and he veered to the right taking himself and the three other front end speed types out of the race. He did recover enough to finish 4th. You never know what is going on in the animal’s mind.

Has current conditioning, speed and post position in his corner. Has raced under 30:00 in his last five races (tops in this field). Only non-winner was a 2nd place in a stake race. Should be odds on at post time.

Orange Park

Race 3: Rockdown Jenn (# 1) 2/1 broke quick, was outrun by the 6 dog who is a lot larger in size than this little girl. She took the 2nd spot into the turn and edged outside of the leader, going stride for stride down the backside, pulling away out of the turn. It was clear today that she has a lot of heart and speed. She paid $4.80, $4.00 and $2.40.

Jenn is a first lifetime starter with two decent schooling races that show some speed and savvy. Only one other sibling from this litter listed in database. That one races at Wheeling and was bumped off stride in the turn in its only race.

Race 4: Cruel To Be Kind (# 6) 9/2 failed to break well, was bumped a little early, then trailed the field. Finished last.

Cruel is one of those bet backs. This one is all about quickness and speed. Looks to try to out duel the competition on the front end. You got to go with them until they can go no further.

Race 8: Seeking Beauty (# 4) 8/1 broke better than in Class B, was 2nd with the leader going stride for stride in the first turn, could not get by and looked like she was going to quit when she went 4 wide on the backside, but in the final turn, she turned it on again to be in a photo for 3rd which she lost. Think she would of tried harder if she gained the lead. Still worth a bet back.

Has had bad racing luck in Class B and now has dropped down against lesser. This just may brave her up enough to permit her speed to carry her on. She is much faster than these as long as she gets to run without getting bumped off her game.

Wheeling Island

Race 1: Kiowa Kay Karl (# 4) 3/1 broke with the leaders, outrun to the turn, pushed wide and never recovered.

Is the first of this litter to hit the track. Schooling races indicate a fast learning curve and heart. There are many unknown factors with these youngsters as three others are first time starters. Lineage is not much help as none have early graduating types in their histories. Going by schooling races alone on this one.

Race 2: Atascocita Zed (# 6) 3/1 broke slow, accelerated racing wide and surviving a bump made it to 2nd in the turn, tracked the leader trying to go inside but was cut off, waited and then came inside for the win in the lane. Paid $3.40, $2.80 and $2.20.

Zed had the worst trip possible and did an excellent job in trying to overcome three different adversities. He jogs with a clean trip.

Race 4: CTW Grand Torino (# 2) 3/1 had trouble grabbing the track, was cut off early, backed to last and trailed through out. Have to wonder if the rain had something to do with his lack of traction.

Torino has made it to the top classification. He did not disappoint last start as the top dog. His speed is commanding if given a clean trip. Main competition is the #1 for the early lead. If he gets by him, it will be smooth sailing.

Race 5: Kiowa WW Repp (# 8) 7/2 broke a little slower than expected, but headed toward the inside which permitted her to pass those with troubled trips (at least three dogs). She kept pace with the two leaders and with any luck, raced well enough to win it. Will bet back on this one next out. Finished 3rd, Paid $4.00.

Repp is from the litter that produced early graduating siblings that raced over this oval. Romeo and Rivera both have done well and with the schooling races listed, this one fits the mold.

Race 10: CTW Diplomat (# 6) 5/1 left the box fast enough, was third (two abreast) into the first turn, was not fast enough for the pace of the race, actually looked tired in the lane. Finished 4th.

Diplomat has one start over the oval. Was unbeatable in Alabama at Birmingham. He seems to prefer more the outside trap (box post positions).

Race 16: Hail Storm Bones (# 7) 5/1 broke well enough to be part of the early mix and was 3rd on the outside going into the turn, but she ran out of gas. Lost contact with the leaders on the backside and it was over.

Makes her third attempt at Class B pups. Has early speed can be very effective. Problem is that she is not as consistent as others in her litter. If she gets loose on the engine, she can do some serious damage at any level.

Starting this week, will be making a new thread and will no longer be looking at Sat and Sun puppies as I have a bad record on those days.
THe new thread will be Monday through Friday,,,l
