AS I post this, Zafonic is probably holed up in some motel in Syracuse doping out Saturday's Finger Lakes card and some selected simo races. He is on his way to meet me for the 'capping contest, and we expect to meet up with at least one other poster there. Smaller scale, but this is turning out to be a fun summer - it will be the third time I have met up with people from the horse boards - Toga I and HTR seminar in KY. being the other two.
I hope we do well tomorrow and get to meet more posters in LA at the $400,000 championship! Only 88 people entered at last word, 100 is the max. Looking for some nice longs tonight to sew that baby up....coffee is brewing, alpha sound tape is running,
and the soft jazz station is humming on the TV.
If I hear sleigh bells on the roof tonight.......
:p

Well, talk about close but no cigar...I finished 13th today, with $3,345 earnings from a $2,400 bankroll ($5745 total bankroll), less tha $500 out of pay off territory.
We made 12 bets, $100 WP on 6 mandatory FL races and 6 optional races from Bel, Mth, or Crc.
Out of 12 bets, I had 4 longshots run third:
8-1
11-1
15-1
36-1
D'oh!
I met Zafonic and he had some close calls today-just got nosed out with a 15-1 shot! 122425 (Mike) came by - I think he saw "SpongeBob" hanging on the wall! HeHe.
Great day - they put on a nice buffet, gave out gifts, really nice job for ole FL.
This contest thing looks it might be worth doing more often- I don't usually enter, but this was a lot of fun - and profitable, too on the real money bets. I got a good lesson in "value" today.

Really nice meeting you guys (Tom & Mike).

Tom

It was a pleasure playing the contest with you. You did some really great capping today and hit some really nice winners !!!

I have to say Finger Lakes did a really nice job of hosting the contest.

Unfortunately for me I couldn't crack the top 40 today, well maybe next time. Was a ton of fun though.
