Keeping it public so we can congratulate the winners and chatise the losers after the race.

this is a tough thing to predict as the track condition has alot to do with it. mine is for a fast track. i think somewhere between 2 minutes and 2:01. i don't see this crowd going under 2 minutes. heck i could see them run it in 2:03 and not be suprised. i don't think the majority of these horses wants 1 1/4 mile. especially the older males that you would think are most capable of winning this race. i think its either zen or another arcanques type of winner.

andtheyeroff...you should maybe specify this would be for a fast track...I assume that's what you mean...

I voted between 2:01:01 & 2:02:00...even if this field could run it faster, I think they are all going to try beating Zenyatta...so it's either going to be someone wingin' it on the front, in hopes she can't catch him, or they will do what just about all the other fields she's run against did...slow it down...the real running will start at the 1/4 pole.

Ivoted between :02 & :03. Don't think anyone is going to set any tough fractions, and I also don't think these can really get 1 and 1/4 easily, and Zenyatta will be tough to hold off in the late stages.

shouldn't this poll be about the BC Mile? Nobody cares about the Classic.

I do because with the supplemental entry of Espoir City , a descendant of
Sunday Silence comes back to the US to represent him and as much aas I love Zenyatta , I'll be rooting for him too.

Lookin at Lucky had a nice work the other day and finished his last 1/4 in 22 and a little change...if Zen wasn't running, he'd be my horse...he's been my horses since his 2 yr old year...I love that colt...but I will be rooting for Zen, and although I think the pace will be slow, I said in my vote for the time, that the real running starts at the 1/4 pole ...and that 22+ from Lucky scares me a little!!

Given that Zenyatta likes to shut down when she hits the lead, just who do you think is going to be going so fast that she'd finish in 1:58 flat at CD catching them (where the track record is 1:59.40)? In other words, who else do you see as being that superior to Secretariat?

I agree but some horses better bump up their beyers if they want to win the Classic.

2:03 and change, I don't see any real fast horses here.

1:58 flat.....Zenyatta, pickin em up and layin em downThe BCC doesn't allow motorized assistance during a race. It's right there in the rules.

Based upon a massive conclusion-from-insufficient-data, the final time of today's Classic will be between 2:01.72 and 2:03.13 with greatest chances of it being right about 2:02 (+/- 1/4 sec). Of course, if Steve R is right and this is a slow bunch for a Classic ...
