Excerpt:

The justice said the annual speech to Congress has become very political and awkward for the justices, who he says are expected to sit “like the proverbial potted plant.”

Of course, Alito did not remain impassive at the most recent State of the Union speech by President Barack Obama. He reacted to Obama’s unusual rebuke of the court for its decision in a campaign finance case by shaking his head and mouthing the words “not true.”

This is good. Obama dis-respected the Court last year, so why should they show him any respect this year? I mean, he will only lie through his teeth anyways. I would hope many this year will stand and turn their back to him while he speaks.

I could understand why BO would be upset. The court obviously did not make an empathy-based decision (i.e. biased) for Big Labor. Shame all over that court!

Nice segue, Box!

Au contraire, the court decided that America should be government of the corporations, by the corporations, for the corporations, so help us God:

"And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, 13 (http://bible.cc/matthew/21-13.htm)And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves. "

Which is exactly what Mr. Roberts has made it become !

Corporations are PEOPLE, Rookies. We don't need foreigners telling us otherwise. Nothing in that decision gave corporations the right to do anything unions haven't been doing. You should keep you eye on Quebec instead of us. You don't get how we roll down here.

we've got a long history of Presidents and the courts getting in public spats, this is pretty mild. I appreciate decorum, but some old school fighting isn't so bad either. Hell, if I remember correctly -- not even all the Presidents used to go to the state of the union, they used to just send over notes for a clerk to read. Jefferson, maybe, maybe others. He didn't see why he should waste his time giving them a speech about what he'd been up to, he'd just jot down some notes and give them to courier. Let them figure it out for themselves.

We were a lot cooler in the old days. Alito would go, but would have a sword in his cane, and he'd be drunk. Now that is some must see TV.

The SOU has become a really worthless exercise. It is 100% political and zero percent real reporting on the SOU.

If you want a REAL SOR, let someone make who did not screw it up to begin with. We has a SOU coming up in November. FUBO.
