What track will replace Hollywood Park when it closes.

Will Fairplex or Los Alamitos expand?

Will Santa Anita and Del Mar split the dates?

Will a new track be built in the Inland Empire?

Hollywood Park probably won't be running much more than 1 or 2 years.

It was going to be closed at least a year ago, but it just keeps on going. I don't think any final plan has been made

At the time, there was talk of Los Al or Fairplex expanding, but with Hollywood Park lingering on it's been quiet lately.

The one part I think we can definitely answer is "will a new track be built"....that would be a "no" unless it has the words "casino" in the title, and I don't see that happening in CA.

I remember seeing a picture/drawing about 2-3 years ago showing a possible larger track built around the Los AL track. This was during the 'hollywood will close' talk time, with the new larger track for Tbreds.

until real estate and the economy as a whole turn around.........

they will be running at HOL

Unless of course the pools get so low that they cannot survive.

You nailed it. Hol could be around for quite awhile yet.

I agree with JR.
Hollywood Park isn't likely to be developed into their original plans for who knows how long? We are in a deflationary depression, and commercial real estate is in the toilet.
I'll believe Hollywood closes when I see them tear the place down.
However, I'm a senior citizen and I don't think I'll live that long!

Did they ever start the development where Bay Meadows used to be? Seems everything hit the fan right after they tore it down.
